Chapter 855: Tang San's Envy

Seeing this scene, Tang San had the urge to curse out loud. So many Golden Trees—if left to him to manage, the life energy they could generate would be enough to cover the entire city. Yet here they were, treated as nothing more than regular timber.

There were guards stationed along the moat, the same kind as the ones at the city gate, and they didn't allow ordinary nymphs to approach. It seemed the Water of Life was still somewhat valued, even here.

The inner city? Yes, this must be the inner city.

Tang San didn't approach but stood and observed from afar for a while. His heart was downright bleeding. This also gave him a new understanding of the abundant resources on Falan Planet.

The abundant resources of the Empyrean Dominion were already astonishing enough, but compared to this, the Solstice Empire's resources were even more terrifying. This was just a border city, yet they were extravagantly using goldenwood to build walls. Then how extravagant were the main cities governed by the Sunborne Nymph Emperor and the Earthshade Nymph Emperor?

No wonder Tang San had heard from the Aetherhorn merchant caravan in Kali City that the Solstice Empire wasn't very interested in developing commerce. They didn't need to be interested; their own resources allowed them to live exceptionally well.

Tang San suddenly had a realization: the nymphs he'd seen thus far were overall weaker in talent compared to demons, yet they were still able to produce many Emperors and stand on equal footing with the demon races. This was definitely due to the sheer abundance of resources in the Solstice Empire.

Meanwhile, humans were migrating overseas, building their own country, and exploiting the sea for resources, yet their lands were still far too barren. In fact, compared to this, even the entire Endless Blue Sea could only be described as poor. No wonder so many Emperors were born on the Daemon Continent.

Even as a former God King, Tang San had to admit that in this moment, he was envious. Yes, envious!

As Tang San stood there, observing the goldenwood wall, a crack suddenly appeared in the wall. The wood split open on either side, and goldenwood beams rolled out, connected by vines. These trunks formed a bridge over the moat.

They're using goldenwood for the bridge too? How wasteful! Tang San felt a pang in his chest, as if he could hardly breathe. If Golden Trees grew properly, each one had the chance to become an Eternal Tree[1]. And yet here they were, being squandered like this!

But in the next moment, Tang San's pupils involuntarily contracted, for he suddenly saw a figure emerge from the inner city.

Flowing blue hair cascaded down her back, and she stood about 1.8 meters tall, with a slim and straight figure. She wore a pale golden gown made of interwoven leaves—not ordinary leaves, as each one emitted a radiant golden glow. They appeared to be from a Golden Tree, and based on what Tang San could tell, they were no ordinary Golden Tree leaves.

Her appearance was quite similar to a young human woman's, except her skin, eyes, and hair were all blue. Six blue spikes extended from her back.

Upon seeing her, Tang San couldn't help but be dumbfounded. This woman... Wasn't her appearance identical to the form he had taken?

Instinctively, he thought of his Discerning Eye of Heaven—luck! There was no question: Even without him actively using the Discerning Eye of Heaven, it unquestionably influenced his fortune. The Endless Blue Sea was insanely vast, yet he had somehow stumbled upon the Firedawns and improved his Immortal Flame Phoenix bloodline, and now he found himself in this uncanny situation. There was no possible explanation otherwise; he'd always been a rather lucky person, but these events were completely defying probability.

It seemed that even without directly manipulating it, fortune continued to favor him over time.

Tang San also had blue hair, eyes, and skin, and he had eight vines extending from his back. The only difference was that his vines hung loosely, like... well, normal vines, while hers were short and appeared hard and sharp. But that was an easy fix; in the blink of an eye, Tang San straightened up his vines and adjusted their angles to match hers. Now, they looked exactly alike, except that he had two more spikes than she did.

Thanks to the Chaos Blue Silver Emperor, Tang San now perfectly resembled a native nymph. Even the Sunborne Nymph Emperor wouldn't be able to detect that he wasn't a true nymph, at least not with divine consciousness alone. After all, the drop of chaos water he had was the highest-level existence in this plane; whatever he used it for, others could only accept the inevitable outcome.

Perhaps sensing Tang San's gaze, the blue-haired nymph turned her attention toward him. When she saw him and noticed the eight spikes on his back, her eyes widened in disbelief, and she quickly hurried over to him.

As expected!

Tang San scanned her with his divine consciousness, gauging her aura. To his surprise, her aura was quite unique. For obvious reasons, it was different from his Chaos Blue Silver Emperor, but the life energy she exuded was exceptionally dense and abundant, as if her very being were condensed from pure life energy.

If anything was easy for him to replicate, it was life energy. After all, the Mysterious Heaven Technique was all about continuous regeneration and vitality. He thus started radiating life energy of his own, unnoticeably reinforced by his divinity. His aura soared, and even the spikes on his back seemed to become more translucent.

The woman rushed over to Tang San, quickly sizing him up. In the next moment, she let out a sharp scream and lunged at him. The spikes on her back suddenly shot out, transforming into soft vines that stretched toward Tang San, attempting to entwine him.

What the...

Tang San certainly couldn't let her vines wrap around him. From her aura, he could tell she was a tenth-order powerhouse. Not knowing exactly what her abilities were, he couldn't risk close contact.

His own eight vines shot out swiftly. When it came to control, Tang San was undeniably skilled, and the eight vines felt much like one of his old soul ring abilities back in the day. Six of his vines quickly coiled around hers, while the remaining two wrapped tightly around her, securing her in place.

To his surprise, the woman didn't resist or try to evade; she simply allowed his vines to entangle hers. Then, large tears began to roll down her cheeks.

"Big Brother, is it really you? You've changed, but it has to be you! I've missed you so much! This is wonderful, you're finally back!"

Big... brother? What?

Tang San was momentarily at a loss. But now wasn't the time to either confirm or deny anything; he merely tilted his head and let out a confused sigh.

Tang San could clearly feel waves of divine consciousness flowing through the vines entwined with his, but it wasn't probing him. Instead, it was filled with emotional fluctuations.

This must be some form of emotional expression.

In response, he quickly used his own vines to release gentle emotions, soothing her turbulent feelings.

"Brother, all these years, where have you been? You've made it back, you really did it. Our Blue Gold lineage has hope now, we finally have hope!" she cried.

In this brief moment, Tang San's mind raced with countless thoughts. What do I do? How do I handle this? Since she thinks I'm her long lost brother, should I just go along with that?

After quickly organizing his thoughts, Tang San spoke in a calm yet clearly confused voice, "You... Who are you? And why do you call me 'big brother'?"
