Chapter 29: Jeju Island (6) Jumping The Monarch

The Monarch of Primal stood in the center of the battlefield, his massive form radiating pure dominance.

Then—

"GIVE IT EVERYTHING YOU’VE GOT!"

His thunderous roar shook the battlefield.

The students glanced at each other, no words needed. They already knew what to do.

Jin stepped forward, pulling out a card— but this one was different.

It was black as the void, its surface depicting a dark, jagged sword surrounded by eerie flames.

He held it up, his voice commanding:

"From the depths of hell, I summon you—

AREWAGON, THE DEMON KING’S SWORD—DRAW!"

As he unsheathed the blade, a wave of suffocating darkness pulsed from it.

The sword was pure black, its surface jagged and cruel, every inch of it designed to tear flesh apart.

The moment Jin gripped the hilt, his hands began to bleed. The sword demanded sacrifice.

But Jin didn’t flinch.

"This is the least I can do since my deck isn’t complete," he muttered to Monkey Mic.

Monkey Mic twirled his bo staff, smirking. "Don’t worry, yo! We’re definitely winning this!"

The Monarch grinned.

Then—they charged.

Jin, Monkey Mic, Leon, and Elay sprinted toward the Monarch, their energy crackling through the air.

The Monarch stood firm, his aura pulsing like a tidal wave, pressing down on everyone around him.

"CONQUEROR."

A single word, yet it carried overwhelming force.

Then—the second wave followed.

Victor, Celestia, Callix, Karina, Yin, and the other students rushed in, their combined power surging forward like a storm.

"Yin, wait—!"

Shin’s voice rang out, but Yin was already too far.

His flaming fist was inches away from the Monarch’s chest.

Then—

A massive, clawed hand caught him.

CRACK!

The Monarch slammed Yin into the ground with terrifying force.

"GRK—!!"

Yin coughed up blood, his body going limp. Knocked out in an instant.

The Monarch lifted his head, grinning wildly.

"NEXT!"

"Shit!" Zion cursed.

Without hesitation, he rushed in, grabbing Yin’s unconscious body and pulling him away.

He carefully set him down behind cover. "Man, you’re too reckless..." Zion muttered.

He clenched his fists.

"Joining that battle would be suicide... especially against that man."

Then—a realization hit him like lightning.

His eyes widened.

"Wait... Did Karina join?!"

He whipped his head around.

There she was—standing frozen in place.

Her hands trembled.

Her eyes locked on the Monarch.

She wasn’t moving.

"Fuck—I can’t do it..." Karina’s mind raced.

Her fingers dug into her palm, nails biting into her skin.

"He... he helped my sister..."

Her breathing quickened.

She couldn’t attack.

She couldn’t move.

She was paralyzed.

And the Monarch had noticed.

The Monarch of Primal grinned, his sharp teeth gleaming under the dim battlefield light.

"How pathetic."

His gaze locked onto Karina, his golden eyes filled with amusement.

"Just because I saved your little sister... you think that means you can’t attack me?"

Karina stood frozen, her legs trembling beneath her.

Her hands clutched her sides, nails digging into her palms, but she still couldn’t move.

From a distance, Zion watched carefully.

"It doesn’t look like the Monarch has any intention of attacking her..." he thought.

Then, his gaze shifted.

The portal.

It was still open.

"Normally, portals close after a certain period... but this one..."

A creeping unease filled him.

He activated Gaze, his vision shifting into a world of aura and energy.

What he saw made his blood run cold.

"That multi-layered aura... it’s still inside. It hasn’t moved."

"Just what the hell is waiting inside that thing?"

Meanwhile, Elay and Leon struck at the same time.

Their kicks slammed into the Monarch’s chest—

But he stood unfazed.

Not even a flinch.

Then—

His hands shot out.

He grabbed both of their legs mid-air.

"Tch—!"

With one monstrous swing, he hurled them aside like ragdolls.

Leon crashed through a building, the walls cracking from impact.

"Shit... that hurt." He groaned, coughing up dust.

Meanwhile, Elay twisted his body mid-air, adjusting himself with perfect precision.

He landed gracefully, his fingers digging into the ground, grinding to a halt.

But something changed.

As he lifted his head, his expression was different.

His instincts screamed.

The thing before him wasn’t just a man.

It was a beast.

And it was enjoying this.

Without hesitation, Elay rushed back in.

At the same time, Monkey Mic and Jin fought relentlessly— 𝘧𝓇ℯ𝑒𝓌𝑒𝑏𝓃𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘭.𝒸ℴ𝓂

Jin’s blade slashing through flesh,

Monkey Mic’s bo staff striking with pinpoint precision.

Then—

Monkey Mic swung his staff straight into the Monarch’s groin.

CRACK!

The Monarch’s eyes bulged.

He let out a roar, his face twisted in rage.

"HITTING A MAN’S SENSITIVE PARTS AIN’T HONORABLE, DAMN IT!!"

With one massive swipe, his claws slashed through the bo staff—

SPLIT IN HALF.

Monkey Mic’s eyes widened. "Shit—"

Then—a fist crashed into his gut.

The force sent him flying, his body skipping across the ground like a stone on water.

"NEXT!!" the Monarch bellowed.

Elay, now in close range, felt something stir within him.

His body changed.

Hair sprouted along his arms and torso.

His muscles bulged, growing denser, stronger.

His clothes tore apart as his frame expanded.

His elegant, noble appearance was gone.

Instead, standing in his place was something primal.

His hands were now clawed, just like the Monarch’s.

The Monarch’s eyes widened.

Then—he grinned.

"WHAHAHAHA!!"

"ANOTHER BEAST—JUST LIKE ME?!"

The students rushed in, grabbing the Monarch’s arms and legs, attempting to pin him down.

But he didn’t resist.

He stood there, grinning.

Almost as if accepting the challenge.

Elay lunged, his claws slashing straight across the Monarch’s chest.

Flesh tore apart.

Blood sprayed.

But—the Monarch didn’t even flinch.

Behind him, Jin moved.

His blade pulsed.

His voice was cold as ice.

"Arewagon... the Bleeding Blade."

With a swift motion, he thrust the cursed sword straight into the Monarch’s back.

The blade sank deep—

But—

The Monarch didn’t react.

Didn’t scream.

Didn’t even acknowledge it.

As if... he felt nothing at all.

The Monarch of Primal stood still.

His eyes widened.

But—he wasn’t looking at Jin.

He wasn’t looking at the students.

He was looking up.

Into the sky.

For a moment, silence fell over the battlefield.

Then—

Jin and the students followed his gaze.

And the moment they saw it—

Their eyes widened in pure shock.

Jin’s grip on his sword weakened.

The cursed blade slipped from his fingers.

CLANG.

The sound of metal hitting the ground echoed through the battlefield.

But no one reacted.

Because what they were seeing—

Was beyond anything they had ever imagined.
