Soul system:Return Of The SSS-Ranked Troublemaker-Chapter 47: Game Of Fate (5) Jeju city.
He stood there menacingly, his presence casting a heavy aura. A wicked smile tugged at his lips.
"You guys wanna have some fun~?" he asked, his tone laced with teasing amusement, clearly not taking them seriously.
The invisible student he’d kicked earlier lunged at him again, aiming a blow directly to his face.
But the smirk on his face only widened.
"Too slow~," he said playfully.
In one swift motion, he caught the attacker’s face sideways, fingers digging into the man’s jaw. The student panicked, gripping the bodyguard’s jacket sleeve in a desperate attempt to escape.
"Mmh—mhhh!!" the student grunted in panic.
Crack!
The sickening sound of his jaw snapping echoed in the air. Without hesitation, the bodyguard slammed him straight into the ground with brutal force.
"Let’s see... who’s next~?" he muttered, eyes gleaming with dangerous excitement.
As the unconscious student hit the ground, the camouflage ability surrounding him instantly faded.
"!!" Everyone’s eyes widened in shock.
"So that’s the guy using camouflage!" K realized.
"Everyone, attack—now!" Zion shouted, seizing the opportunity.
The field lit up as four students were revealed from hiding—now exposed without their invisibility.
"They still have that silence field and the energy erasure! Be careful!" K warned.
Yin immediately rose, his fists blazing with fire, while the twin members of K’s group charged alongside him. They engaged the four exposed students in a flurry of clashes, each blow more intense than the last.
Sera moved in swiftly, her eyes focused. She darted between the chaos, managing to touch one opponent after another, each touch sealing their abilities one by one. Slowly, the tide of battle turned.
Minutes passed.
And it was over.
The last of the enemy students fell, unconscious and completely neutralized.
"Edith! Can you make rope? We need to tie them up!" Calvin called out.
Without hesitation, Edith nodded. Placing her hands over her belly, she began molding fat cells into thick strands. The material curled and hardened, transforming into durable rope right from her core. She handed it over.
"Got it!" Calvin said as he quickly bound the unconscious students, weaving the rope with precision.
Moments later, they were secured in a triangle formation.
"There. Tied tight!" Calvin confirmed.
"Hooo—finally, all done!" Zion sighed, wiping sweat from his brow.
The team stood over their defeated enemies, victorious... but this was just the beginning.
The team stood over their defeated enemies, victorious... but this was just the beginning.
As the students celebrated their hard-earned victory, a sudden chill ran down their spines.
A murderous intent, thick and suffocating, crept over them like a shadow. One by one, they turned their heads slowly—only to see a lone figure sitting casually on a tree branch above.
Legs crossed. Expression unreadable. Crimson eyes glowing faintly with killing intent.
"Hmph."
He sighed, bored, as if their entire fight had been little more than a side show.
"How the hell did he get up there...?" one of the twins muttered, eyes narrowing.
Dressed in black and white suits that contrasted yet mirrored each other, even they were caught off guard.
"What the fuck is he doing up there?" K thought, eyes narrowing as unease settled in his chest.
Trying to break the tension, Zion raised his hand cheerfully.
"Ah! Thank you, sir, for helping us earlier!" he called out.
But before anyone could get closer, Calvin stepped forward, raising his arm to block their path.
"Don’t. He’s one of the Korean students. I don’t think you should approach him so casually," Calvin warned, voice low.
"Huh? Why not? He seems chill to me," Yin said, tilting his head.
"Don’t you feel it? That aura... It’s not normal."
And then it hit him.
"Ugh..." Yin shuddered, a cold sweat forming on his back.
That presence... It was like standing too close to a sleeping beast.
"Sigh... Whatever."
The figure suddenly exhaled again, but this time, his tone shifted. From murderous to... carefree.
"I’m too tired to deal with this. Anyway, thanks for the show—I’m off to find my team!"
His voice now carried a light, almost goofy energy, like he’d just changed personalities on a whim.
"Huh...?" Zion blinked in confusion.
"Hey! You sure you don’t wanna join us until you find them?" K called out with a grin.
"Hm? Nah." the student replied instantly, waving without looking back.
"Wait—at least tell us your name!" Calvin called after him.
The student paused, then glanced over his shoulder, his red eyes gleaming once more.
"I suppose you should know me... I’m Soohyung."
And with that, his figure vanished into the air, not leaving even a trace of presence behind.
Everyone stood in stunned silence.
"Soohyung...?" Karina echoed, blinking in realization.
"Oh! He’s that guy from the Park family—the celebrity clan."
"Wait, we talked to a celebrity?!" Yin said, amazed.
Karina shook her head. "No... not quite. He’s the personal bodyguard of the oldest daughter, Park Nam."
The group let out a collective, "Oh..." their excitement dimming a bit.
Yin turned to Sera. "Your sister seems to know a lot about Korea, huh?"
Sera looked away awkwardly.
"She watches a lot of K-dramas... even stalks their real-life drama too."
"Oh..." they all said again—this time in secondhand embarrassment.
After the intense battle, the students didn’t waste time—they began making their way toward Jeju City. By the time they arrived, the sun had already begun its slow descent, casting a warm golden hue over the skyline.
Jeju City greeted them with a vibrant contrast to the wilderness they’d come from. Towering buildings reached toward the sky, sleek and modern, yet seamlessly intertwined with the charm of traditional Korean architecture. Bright neon signs flickered in both Hangul (한글) and English, advertising everything from tteokbokki (떡볶이) stalls to high-end boutiques.
The streets buzzed with life—honking cars, scooters weaving through traffic, and the occasional shout from an enthusiastic street vendor. Ajeossis (아저씨) grilled fresh fish beside steaming pots of kimchi jjigae (김치찌개), while ajummas (아줌마) with floral visors enthusiastically sold fruits straight from local farms—ripe hallabong (한라봉) oranges stacked high, their sweet scent filling the air.
Despite the noise and movement, the atmosphere was oddly peaceful. The hum of city life had a rhythm to it—lively, energetic, yet welcoming. Street performers played traditional instruments like the gayageum (가야금) while children ran through the markets with skewers of eomuk (어묵) in hand.
It was Korea in its raw, authentic beauty: a living fusion of the old and the new.
As the students walked through the city, wide-eyed and exhausted, they couldn’t help but feel just a bit more human—reminded that even in a world of monsters, powers, and war... there was still warmth, laughter, and the smell of grilled meat in the air.
"Wow, it’s really lively..." Zion murmured, eyes scanning the bustling streets, awed by the contrast between the chaos they’d come from and the peace that surrounded them now. "Let’s go," K said casually, his hands in his pockets, leading the group forward.
As they stepped deeper into Jeju City, each of them had thoughts quietly stirring.
Yin breathed in deeply. The air here... it’s different. Less tense. Is this what peace is supposed to feel like? He looked around at the bright shops and joyful faces and felt a small pang in his chest. I want to protect this kind of place someday.
Calvin adjusted his black cloak slightly, his visor hiding his sharp eyes. No surveillance. No scouts in sight. Ideal for an ambush... but also perfect for rest. Still... that guy earlier—Soohyung. His strength... it wasn’t normal. His eyes scanned every alleyway. I need to grow stronger. Fast.
Karina kept her arms crossed as she walked, her dual daggers clinking lightly at her waist. Korea is so bright... so open. But that means we’re even more vulnerable out here. Her eyes narrowed at a suspiciously quiet alley. I can’t let my guard down just because the sun is shining.
Sera stayed close to the group, her hands fiddling with the ends of her gloves. So many people... So many smiles... but they don’t know what’s coming. She glanced toward Zion. He seems happy here. I wonder... if we’ll all still be walking together like this by the end.
Edith, the scarf maker, was trailing behind slightly, her eyes glued to a street stand that sold handmade fabrics. They still use their hands to sew... huh. I wonder what that’s like. Creating something not with powers, but effort. A tiny smile tugged at her lips. Maybe one day, I’ll try it the old way.
The Twins, walking on either side of K, had a synchronized reaction to the city’s energy.
White Twin: Too many smells, too much noise. Cities always make me nervous. So many hidden threats behind smiling faces.
Black Twin: This city hums with tension... beneath the smiles. It’s like everyone is pretending. Just like us.
As Zion looked at the sky, distracted by the peace, the system screen flickered in front of him.
"I remember my first visit to Korea. It was during a portal outbreak... I never really got to enjoy it." Zero’s voice sounded through the interface, unexpectedly wistful as tears comically streamed down his system screen.
Zion scowled. I didn’t ask you. You vanished when I needed you the most!
"But someone helped you overcome it," Zero replied calmly.
"Yeah, right," Zion thought bitterly, crossing his arms and turning away. Wait... how did you even know someone helped me?
"I can see what’s around you. Even without appearing," Zero said smugly.
"Still, I don’t forgive you for ditching me like that!" Zion snapped mentally.
Zero gave a small, mysterious smile on-screen. You must learn on your own...
Then, as the group turned a corner, Zion bumped into a stranger—an older man in a coat, face hidden under a wide hat.
"Oh—Sorry, mister," Zion said instinctively, bowing politely
But the man didn’t even glance at him. He just kept walking.
Zion stood still for a second, watching his back.
Something... was off about him.
