Sovereign of the Ashes-Chapter 1066: Messy Relationships Between Deities
Chapter 1066: Messy Relationships Between Deities
Sein had no idea just how much he had impacted Faeloria.
With more than thirty Rank One and Rank Two followers in tow, he had already passed through several human nations and arrived at the San Fravence Empire, located in the western part of central Faeloria.
It was the continent’s largest grain-producing region, with vast plains, a mild climate, and the highest population density in all of Faeloria.
The word “San” placed before the name of this vast empire of billions made it clear that it was the Justice League’s territory.
From there, Sein and his group continued east toward their destination: the San Jose Kingdom.
Compared to the San Fravence Empire, the San Jose Kingdom was much smaller in size and population.
Even so, it was a well-connected nation with a vast network of rivers and waterways that extended to the northern glaciers and reached both the eastern and southern coasts.
According to reliable intel, the God of Craft was hiding somewhere here.
However, before Sein and his group could make a move, someone else had beaten them to the punch.
It was clear that the aftershocks from the chaos in Faeloria’s southern sea had reached the deities hiding in this kingdom, especially those wielding weaker divine power.
In the past three months alone, the God of Craft had been attacked twice by unknown forces.
The most devastating of those clashes destroyed nearly half the city he was staying in.
Hundreds of thousands of civilians were displaced in the aftermath.
Compared to the God of Craft, some of the other Justice League deities lying low in the San Jose Kingdom experienced worse.
The unluckiest among them was, without a doubt, the Goddess of Joy.
The weak goddess was nearly assassinated by Fenrion, an intermediate deity.
Fenrion, the God of Hunt, was a special case: a foreign-born who had achieved godhood within Faeloria.
Some claimed Fenrion’s original body belonged to the extinct Telos Lizardfolk, a minority race that lived during Faeloria’s medieval era.
The purebred Telos Lizardfolk went completely extinct in Faeloria as early as two hundred thousand years ago.
In every world, it was perfectly normal for old races to fade away and new ones to rise in their place.
Fenrion still existed today, even though its original race had long since vanished. This meant that the followers of this intermediate deity were not of its kind.
In Faeloria, Fenrion was a good option for any assassins who walked the path of shadow.
It might be a cautious and vengeful god, but no one could deny that the abilities offered by its temples were highly practical.
Alongside Fenrion, there were two other similar deities in the Dark Alliance: Masque, the God of Thieves—a lesser deity, and Ravokh, the God of Murder—a greater deity.
More than ninety percent of Faeloria’s thieves and assassins worshipped one of these three.
Fenrion might not be as powerful as Ravokh, but its aggressiveness was notorious even among intermediate deities.
In Faeloria’s history, it had slain at least two other deities.
This time, when Leyra, the Goddess of Joy, crossed paths with Fenrion, she paid the price of losing one of her divine arms.
Combined with the strange toxins and law factors in Fenrion’s divine power, the injury was severe enough that Leyra likely would not be regrowing that arm anytime soon.
The one who rescued her was Thamior, the God of Courage.
It was no secret that Thamior was an admirer of Euphryne, the Goddess of Music.
The reason he had shown up in the San Jose Kingdom in the first place was to recover from an injury while quietly keeping watch over Euphryne.
No one expected the God of Courage, who was still recovering from his injuries, to step in and save the Goddess of Joy.
Leyra’s reputation in Faeloria had always been poor as she was a promiscuous goddess.
The Goddess of Music only flirted around, but the Goddess of Joy slept around.
In fact, the goddess had even slept with a few demons in Purgatory—at least, according to what the Succubus Queen told Sein.
How exactly Leyra managed to provoke Fenrion enough to cost her an arm remained unclear.
Regardless, most were more interested in the relationship between the God of Courage, the Goddess of Joy, and the Goddess of Music...
The relationships between the Faelorian deities were indeed quite messy.
Sein did not care much for the gossip swirling around the Faelorian deities or their messy personal lives.
He was far more interested in the current condition of the ones gathered in the San Jose Kingdom, especially Gondrath, the God of Craft, whom he had already marked as a target.
He wanted to find out which other deities or factions might also be eyeing Gondrath.
Unfortunately, even with the Purgatory demons’ help, he had not received much reliable intel.

After spending two months in an eastern border city of the San Fravence Empire, Sein still had not gathered anything particularly useful.
During that time, the San Jose Kingdom remained relatively quiet.
It seemed that Fenrion had already departed, and the other forces that had been eyeing Gondrath and the nearby deities had also pulled back.
Meanwhile, something else was stirring in eastern Faeloria.
The dragon gods from Dragon Island, far out in the outer sea, had gathered over two thousand dragons and flown onto the mainland in a sky-darkening swarm.
Their target was none other than the “City of Wealth” in eastern Faeloria.
The City of Wealth housed the Goddess of Wealth’s main temple.
With her divine light fading and her worshippers struggling to reach her, the temple’s influence had taken a nosedive.
While the deities of other factions had yet to make any overt moves to finish her off, the greedy dragons could no longer hold themselves back!
Two thousand adult dragons, each one essentially at Legendary level or higher, was a truly terrifying force!
People often wondered how the dragon race, with their notoriously low birth rate, had managed to form their own pantheon.
The answer was simple: dragons had immense individual strength, enormous growth potential, and lifespans far beyond most other low-level races.
Two thousand dragons descending upon the City of Wealth to loot it en masse was nothing short of absurd.
During the Avatar Crisis, all gods descended to the Prime Materia Plane in their avatar forms.
It was no exaggeration to say that even greater deities would have thought twice before going up against two thousand dragons in their avatar forms during this period.
As for Tidas, the God of Waves in the southern seas, he was able to slay two lesser deities largely due to the fact that he had never strayed far from his divine nation.
In other words, Tidas was not exactly in his avatar form, unlike Eluvira, who was rumored to have already set foot on the main continent.
