Special Forces Medic-Chapter 664 - 626: I Am a Military Doctor
This is the first time clashing directly with Wang Zhanting. Xiao Lin always keeps an eye on the place where the figure disappeared. He can't tell the significance of Wang Zhanting's look before he left, but it's clear he was angry. "Wang Zhanting's target is Tang Xiaoxia; he won't give up easily."
"If Tang Xiaoxia leaves the mental institution, I have no place to send her." Wu Shuang was very troubled. She couldn't very well confine her in the police station, although that's not impossible, but right now she couldn't determine whether Tang Xiaoxia actually had mental issues.
This is an urgent problem, Xiao Lin thought for a moment. "Is Tang Xiaoxia being monitored immediately?"
"There are already people guarding the door." Wu Shuang also had concerns. The previous witnesses being killed had left a shadow in her heart.
Xiao Lin wanted to say something more when suddenly there was a noise from upstairs. He shoved Wu Shuang aside and rushed upstairs.
Hua Qingyi, with quick eyes and hands, snatched the sharp weapon from Hong Lian's hand and delivered a palm strike towards him. The frail person fell back to evade it. Hua Qingyi didn't really intend to harm Hong Lian; he flung the sharp weapon away, wanting to grab Hong Lian. But unexpectedly, Hong Lian was as slippery as an eel, managing to slip away.
The escapee jumped to the ground, crouching like a monkey, chuckling at Hua Qingyi. "What kind of games are you playing?" When speaking earlier, he seemed fine; why now did he appear so strange?
"Let me out!" Saying this, the crouching Hong Lian leaped towards the back of Hua Qingyi.
With a bang, Hua Qingyi turned, and Hong Lian was already on the ground; Xiao Lin appeared at the door. "Is he really crazy?" Hua Qingyi asked Xiao Lin, feeling like he might lose his own sanity if he stayed any longer.
Xiao Lin walked over to Hong Lian. To prevent him from escaping again, Xiao Lin quickly pressed several acupuncture points on his body, immobilizing him, before dragging a chair to sit in front of him.
"I don't want to waste time here. Dragon Soul's lockdown order also has a time limit. I'll give you one more chance: come with me or stay here?" Xiao Lin thought he might use him to make a deal with Wang Zhanting if necessary. "You don't mean anything significant to me. As for whether you are Hong Lian, I still don't know. Wang Zhanting is right downstairs. If you can't decide within three seconds, I'll exchange you for Tang Xiaoxia."
Unable to move, Hong Lian could only stare dryly, his round eyes turning back and forth. Hua Qingyi, looking at him, also thought he didn't seem like someone with a mental problem.
"By the way, let me tell you, Wang Zhanting is not after you."
"I'll go with you." Weighing his options, Hong Lian finally made a decision, his teeth chattering as he shivered. Noticing something amiss, Xiao Lin released his acupuncture points, and the liberated person curled up, convulsing. Hua Qingyi walked over to Xiao Lin, observing Hong Lian's every move.
Xiao Lin crouched down, the convulsing person already foaming at the mouth. He extended two fingers to touch his chin, lymph nodes were swollen, ten fingers moved down along the stomach channel to the spleen, following the same path down to the perineum. His brows furrowed, the two fingers turned into a palm, gathering Qi to control key points of his body, slowly moving down.
Hong Lian stared, a warm current flowing within him eased his convulsions. "The drugs have formed a buildup in his body; this is a reaction to overdose."
"How many times do these convulsions occur in a day?" Xiao Lin asked the now calmer Hong Lian.
He held up two fingers as if to answer. Xiao Lin nodded. "Twice is still manageable."
"How are you handling it now?"
"Send him to Dragon Soul; there's still hope for treatment for this person. Wang Zhanting does not yet have authority over Dragon Soul's matters."
When Hong Lian heard he was being sent to Dragon Soul, he relaxed as if relieved. Hua Qingyi called in two people to escort Hong Lian out.
"This person is not Hong Lian." Xiao Lin shook his head in disappointment. Regarding Dragon Soul, Hong Lian should hate it to the core, but clearly, this person doesn't seem to think so.
"He's not Hong Lian, yet you still send him back to Dragon Soul?" Hua Qingyi was puzzled by Xiao Lin's actions. Since he's not, there's no need to go to such trouble.
"You go with them first. I'll follow shortly."
"Understood." Hua Qingyi didn't ask further, pursuing the two people out. He wondered who this person was if not Hong Lian, and why Xiao Lin took such an interest.
Wu Shuang paced nervously outside Tang Xiaoxia's door, anxiously awaiting Xiao Lin. People descended from the fifth floor carrying a stretcher with someone lying flat on it. Hua Qingyi followed them down the stairs. Sounds of shouting came from a third-floor office, Zhou Hong's hysteria was unbearable.
"Is she inside?" Xiao Lin inquired. 𝘧𝓇𝑒𝑒𝑤ℯ𝑏𝓃𝘰𝑣ℯ𝘭.𝘤ℴ𝘮
"She should be. No one has entered or exited." Wu Shuang instructed people to open the door, and Xiao Lin entered the room alone.
Tang Xiaoxia sat unexpectedly in a chair, the commotion at the door making her look up. When she saw the stranger, her eyes locked onto Xiao Lin.
"Minister Tang." Xiao Lin approached Tang Xiaoxia and extended his hand. "I am Dragon Soul's Major General, Xiao Lin."
Tang Xiaoxia slightly raised her eyes to gaze at Xiao Lin, extending her own hand. The chill at her fingertips startled Xiao Lin, and in a daze, Tang Xiaoxia lowered her head again.
"I'm a Military Doctor, and will conduct a few simple tests on you, without causing any pain, please rest assured." After a brief explanation, Xiao Lin gently lifted Tang Xiaoxia's chin and shone a small flashlight beam into her pupils. The glaring light made Tang Xiaoxia blink uncomfortably. "I don't think a further test is necessary."
"What do you intend to do to me?" Hearing the word "doctor" triggered a reflexive resistance in Tang Xiaoxia. She knew once she entered this place, it would be difficult to leave; someone wanted her voice silenced permanently.
"Hang on a moment." Xiao Lin stood up and let Wu Shuang inside. "This is the officer in charge of your case, Vice Director of the City Police Department, Wu Shuang."
"Is Lin Zhifang also being monitored?" Tang Xiaoxia murmured; it was inevitable. Following the wrong person meant self-destruction; she blamed no one but herself.
"Director Lin's case isn't as severe as Minister Tang's." Xiao Lin paced the room, occasionally glancing out the window. "If you don't mind, may I close the window?"
Politely seeking permission, his hands had already closed the slightly ajar window and drew the curtains, dimming the room considerably.
"Is Major General Xiao part of the Xiao Family?" Tang Xiaoxia clasped her hands together. Xiao Lin drew the curtains to block outside visibility, reducing the accuracy of any external assault.
