Spirit's Ascension-Chapter 52—Big Battle Begins

The first thing all the freshly arrived students noticed was a change in themselves.

They could feel themselves getting extremely clear-headed. It took them less effort to think, and their thoughts were sharper.

"This feels magical," they all thought.

"Did Cole do this?" Bryan thought while looking towards Cole.

With newfound confidence from the new arrivals, Cole activated all his abilities to their max state.

Cole had had a level of engagement with every single one present, so he roughly knew what they were capable of.

He had either fought them, fought with them, or somehow known them.

Seeing Cole’s readiness to battle, the others too didn’t waste more time; they prepared.

Multiple abilities were activated all around, resulting in a beautiful cacophony.

Some of them knew who the enemy was. Having a little bit of information about them. While some like Lucius and Moses were just there for the thrill.

"I hope this goes well," Cole thought while initiating an attack.

He charged straight at Simonene with his Flaming fist hoping to test the waters.

He arrives in front of his opponent with surprising speed and sends a direct jab.

No faint, nothing, just a jab.

Simone watched the attack approach with a stoic expression, only raising to block when the attack got close enough.

Just after Cole’s attack landed, an ice spear arrived with surprising accuracy.

It hit Simone directly on the shoulder, shattering upon impact and spreading freezing energy across the point.

Without wasting any time, Cole sensed something and immediately created distance between him and Simone.

Just as he left, searing hot flames came in double arches, heading straight at Simone’s chest.

Due to the urgency and proximity, the attack also successfully landed.

Just like that, the students took turns attacking with really great coordination.

This was probably due to the effect left behind by the Codex’s energy.

Cole watched all those attacks land with optimism obvious in his eyes.

Out of habit, he activated the Eyes of Scrutiny, resulting in drowsiness, and proceeded to check out Simone’s body.

While the students were resting from their barrage of attacks, they watched smoke as the smoke cleared up.

"Hahahahhahah," they suddenly heard from within the smoke.

Then the moment the smoke cleared, all of their hearts dropped harshly except Cole.

Simone was standing in his spot completely unscathed with a bored expression.

"You all didn’t think you hurt me, right?" He asked.

Cole saw through his facade though, using the Eyes of Scrutiny, he noticed a decrease in the intensity of the dark energy in Simone after those attacks.

He was sure they actually worked.

"Since our attacks actually hurt him then, he must be just a bit ahead in the Awakened Level," Cole tried to gauge.

"There’s hope," he thought.

"Keep on attacking, guys; we can defeat him," Cole screamed.

After he screamed, he rushed forward again, but this time not just to test the waters.

He wanted to do genuine damage to his enemy so he had to give everything he had.

He rushed towards the side and not directly at Simone while simultaneously activating Kinetic Acceleration for the first time.

Kinetic acceleration + Flaming Fist was currently his strongest combat attack, and that was exactly what he used.

Activating the Kinetic acceleration, he blitzed straight at Simone from the side while preparing a punch.

Simone sensed a bit of danger from that attack, so he couldn’t afford to just let it hit him.

He turned towards Cole and sent a hammer strike straight at him.

Bang!

Hammer hit Fist resulting in a large shockwave that knocked the both of them backwards.

Cole felt numbness and didn’t get broken.

Just as he had previously predicted, a large golden palm appeared just above where Simone was knocked back, and it crashed heavily on him.

The impact pushed Simone into the ground as his teeth made craters in the ground.

Blue flaming arrows also followed, doubling the pressure of Simone.

"Haaaaa," Simone shouted out.

Cole observed the dark energy reducing further, giving him a sense of accomplishment.

"My turn," Simone suddenly said.

The words hadn’t completely vanished when he vanished and appeared behind the only person that hadn’t attacked. Moses.

He sent a spine-crushing punch straight at Mos’s back, leaving no room for escape.

Moses was able to slightly react in time, not just staying like a sitting duck.

He moved just enough for the punch to land on his side and miss his spine.

He was still sent out flying like a broken kite despite his efforts.

After dealing Moses a heavy blow, Simone didn’t wait; he targeted Lucius’s nest, but Lucius already protected him with an Ice armor.

Simone didn’t punch or kick. He sent a vertical strike of his hammer downward.

Landing squarely on the top of Lucius’s Ice armor.

Immediately cracks appeared all over it like webs before connecting, resulting in the armor completely shattering.

Following that, he sent a kick straight at Lucius’s legs, almost shattering his bones.

All of that happened in the blink of an eye, too fast for any of them to actually respond fast enough, so they could only watch.

He rushed toward Bryan, but this time the others were ready, and they quickly retaliated.

Linda sent out flaming sword arcs again while Cole approached to attack in close combat. 𝐟𝕣𝕖𝐞𝐰𝕖𝚋𝐧𝗼𝚟𝐞𝕝.𝗰𝐨𝐦

Bryan himself didn’t just stand frozen; instead, he had already turned around.

Fully prepared for any attack.

As the attack approached, he performed a set of movements that sent a strike straight at Simone.

The strike was aimed at his torso just below his stomach.

"Simone effortlessly blocked the attack, though, and pressed on with his attack.

He sent a horizontal hammer swing at Bryan’s head, as if he wanted to immediately murder him.

"I hate you damn monks," He said furiously.

Just as the attack was about to hit.

ROOOAARRRR!

They suddenly heard them from behind them.

To Cole, the roar was just all too familiar. It was the Life beast.

"Oh no, why is it interfering with us, we can’t handle two Awakened-Levels," Cole said fearfully.

"All hope is lost."
