Spoiled by the CEO after amnesia!-Chapter 1356 - 1334: Because You Are My Woman
Chu Xinyue didn’t expect Sister Quan to be so talkative and cheerful, without any airs of a big star, nor any of the many rules of a wealthy housewife.
As they chatted, Sister Quan’s interest blossomed. She waved her hand and told the director to move the afternoon’s shoot to tomorrow, then took Chu Xinyue to a restaurant exclusively for stars to have dinner.
Growing up, Chu Xinyue rarely had the chance to make friends, so she was very happy to have met someone like Sister Quan.
The two chatted and ate, losing track of time.
Apart from with Mr. N, this was the first time Chu Xinyue had such an enjoyable conversation with a friend, until her phone rang, breaking her train of thoughts. She picked it up without looking at the screen, still smiling, "Hello."
"Don’t you know what time it is?" The voice that came through was full of discontent, and hearing her so happily, it seemed to grow even colder.
She froze for a moment and then saw it was Ya Chen calling. A glance at the screen showed it was already 8 PM.
Sister Quan was curious, "Who’s calling? Do you need to go back? Otherwise, I’ll go settle the bill."
Both being daughters-in-law from prestigious families, Sister Quan understood that Chu Xinyue might be bound by family rules.
Hurriedly, she waved her hand, indicating it was nothing, and quietly spoke into the phone, "I’m having dinner with a friend, I’ll be back later."
Fearing Sister Quan would wait long, she quickly hung up the phone.
"Is everything okay?" Sister Quan asked.
"Yeah, it’s fine. Let’s continue." Chu Xinyue thought that since she had explained it to Ya Chen, he probably wouldn’t wait for her, so she put her phone on silent to avoid further disturbances.
The two continued on, and it was already ten o’clock.
When Chu Xinyue returned to the hotel, it was almost eleven.
At the suite’s entrance, even the security had gone to rest in the next room.
She swiped the room card and tiptoed in.
The suite was completely dark, with no lights on.
He must have gone to sleep already.
Quietly, she headed toward her bedroom, but in the darkness, an extremely resentful voice broke the silence:
"Finally know to come back?"
The sudden voice almost made her heart jump out. In the faint moonlight, Ya Chen sat on the living room sofa, his silhouette blending into the darkness.
"You... you haven’t gone to bed yet!" He had really frightened her, so she patted her chest.
"I was waiting for you!" he replied with justified logic.
"I said I was out having dinner with a friend."
"You still have friends? Who? An Haokang?" Ya Chen raised an eyebrow, full of suspicion.
Chu Xinyue had been busy all day outside, sweating all over, and was exhausted, just wanting to go in and take a shower without much explanation, "No."
He suddenly stood up, followed the direction of her voice, wrapped his arm around her waist before she could react, pulled her close, bent his head down, and buried it in her neck, inhaling deeply.
Alcohol, faint alcohol scent.
They had only had some sake with the high-class Japanese meal with Sister Quan.
His brows quickly furrowed.
She hadn’t come back this late, and she was drinking outside?
"Drank alcohol. With whom? Don’t forget, we are still not divorced!" His breath became cold.
She sensed the faint displeasure and anger in his body, but surprisingly she didn’t struggle: "It was a female star I interviewed today. We got along well... Can you let me go now?"
She didn’t quite know why she was being kinder to him today; maybe because she knew the truth about his relationship with Lan Yurou.
Was the dinner companion a woman? Only then did Ya Chen relax his brows and release her.
She mustered up her courage, looking at him: "Today on set... I saw Lan Yurou."
Ya Chen wasn’t surprised, as last month, Dr. Han had called to inform him that Lan Yurou had woken up, and Ya Qianhuai had paid her to leave Nanga, but he hadn’t expected that woman to turn up in China’s entertainment industry.
"I know about you and Lan Yurou." She pinched the corner of her clothes, her voice calm in the night, "I know nothing happened between you two, I also know she wasn’t pregnant because of you, and I know what you’ve done for me... I’m really grateful."
Grateful? That’s it?
Ya Chen felt empty and was clearly unsatisfied with just her thank you.
"Why... why did you do such things for me behind my back?" she said softly.
Their marriage was her impulsive decision, not something he was willing for.
She thought he had always disliked her.
She never expected him to disregard his reputation and even the law for her.
He couldn’t be bothered to answer, just wrapped his long arm firmly around her slim waist, pulling her into his arms: "Because you’re my woman."
Her heart pounded wildly. Once, she had longed so much for him to say this, but now hearing it, her emotions were mixed.
Her soft body trembled slightly in his embrace; unable to bear his frustrations any longer, he pressed his lips down, grinding and rolling against hers.
His unruly tongue forced its way inside, finally bringing her back to her senses, as if frightened, she pushed him away and darted back to her bedroom.
He panted, straightening up, his expression gradually darkening.
She thanked him, but hadn’t entirely forgiven him.
The issue of him forcing her to abort, she hadn’t fully let go.
The night outside the window spread slowly, deep and thick, just like his mood right now.
Quietly sitting back down on the sofa, he didn’t move for a long time.
Ten minutes later, she suddenly opened her door with a bang, wrapped in a large white bath towel, still feeling some embarrassment about earlier, but had to ask, "...By the way, why is my shower broken? No water."
Anyway, he couldn’t see her, so she didn’t mind wearing just the bath towel.
Ya Chen teased lightly, "How would I know? I’m not a repairman."
Wasn’t she running fast just now, and now she comes to him the moment something goes wrong? Fat chance. He had his pride too, you know.
She bit her lip, annoyed at his arrogant act. Just as she thought of calling room service, his voice sounded again:
"Is it necessary to be so troublesome? Use the bathroom in my room."
By the time the hotel calls someone to fix it, it will probably take another hour or two.
Feeling sticky all over was really uncomfortable, so eventually, she glanced at him: "Hmm, then I’ll borrow your bathroom."
Saying so, she returned to her room, gathered her clothes, and headed into his room.
Using the master bathroom for the first time, she was unfamiliar with it, and only after some effort did she adjust the water temperature, comfortably lying in the Jacuzzi. Feeling around the edge, she couldn’t find the shower gel.
Sitting up straight in the tub, she called out toward the bathroom door, "Where’s the shower gel?"
The door opened with a bang.
Before she could recover from her shock, she saw Ya Chen, leaning on the metal cane, swaggering in.
He picked up a bottle from the sink and then walked directly toward the bathtub.
"You-you—wait a minute! Don’t come over, I’m taking a bath." Chu Xinyue panicked, submerging herself entirely in the water.
