Spoiled by the CEO after amnesia!-Chapter 49: Carry It Back
"Who’s that? So handsome--"
Finally, a female guest at Qiangui noticed the newcomer and gasped in surprise.
Then, it caused a small commotion.
Tang En’en also saw him and her eyes widened.
In an instant, the man’s arrival pulled everyone’s attention away from the dance floor.
And everyone could see clearly.
This man, who seemed to have descended from the heavens, with a face like a deity and an expression as cold as ice, focused his gaze entirely on one person--
Jiayi in the middle of the dance floor.
Jiayi was dancing merrily when she felt hot sparks flying towards her, making her uncomfortably warm, and she also noticed the murmuring nearby. Slightly tilting her head, she became frozen in place.
He, why had he come?!
Her step faltered, she missed a beat, and as Jiayi’s center of balance shifted, she tilted to one side.
"Be careful!" Jiang Pinhao noticed the girl’s misstep and wrapped one arm around her slender waist, wanting to hold her close to prevent her from falling.
In a moment, the man outside the pool had already strode in.
An overwhelming and dominant aura surged towards them--
Pinhao hadn’t even reacted when his arm was yanked, and, moving with the inertia, he stumbled back several steps.
Jiayi felt a shadow fall before her eyes, her body like a cloud, floating toward the side. As she reached midair, she was suddenly gripped tightly and her whole body crash-landed into a familiar chest.
A familiar scent overwhelmed her nose, commanding, restrained, displeased--
Looking up, she saw the man’s thick brows deeply furrowed, staring straight at the girl in his arms. His usually cold and profound eyes now seemed to contain frozen snow, capable of freezing someone to death.
He was like a proud hunter, ready to twist the neck of prey that had betrayed him.
Her heart pounded chaotically, scared, and subconsciously, she felt like she had done something wrong. She frantically pushed him and stepped back several paces.
"Jiayi, what’s wrong?" Jiang Pinhao came to his senses, his face changed, and he turned to Huo Zhenyang. Because of his innate gentlemanly character, his words remained polite, "Who are you? We don’t seem to know you. Aren’t you being too presumptuous?"
Tang En’en also regained her composure and hurried to the dance floor to support Jiayi, whispering softly, "Jiayi, who is he?"
This handsome man was clearly acquainted with Jiayi, but why did she seem to be avoiding him? 𝐟𝕣𝕖𝐞𝐰𝕖𝚋𝐧𝗼𝚟𝐞𝕝.𝗰𝐨𝐦
Huo Zhenyang, faced with everyone’s interrogations, couldn’t care less about the others, his gaze still fixed on Jiayi, a mocking smile curling at the edge of his thin lips:
"Tell them who I am."
He wanted the girl to admit, in front of all these people, that he was her man.
Jiayi’s startled emotions had calmed somewhat under Tang En’en’s reassurance, and finally, she was no longer panicking.
This man just wanted to proudly declare his sovereignty in front of so many people.
She just didn’t want to give him what he wanted.
Why should he decide everything, and she could only be shackled by him, doing everything according to his wishes?
After all, he had seen her leaving George to come out and play today; she couldn’t escape from him holding it against her!
She was going to risk it all!
She looked at Huo Zhenyang, swallowed, and parted her pink lips, her sweet voice loud enough for everyone to hear:
"Cousin, you’re here, you gave me quite a scare, I didn’t see clearly just now."
The word "Cousin" burst from Jiayi’s mouth, and Jiang Pinhao’s expression immediately relaxed.
As a man, he could understand another man’s feelings. When that man had stepped forward and pulled them apart, he had thought he was Jiayi’s man.
Tang En’en was very surprised and couldn’t help but let out a quiet "Ah," so he was Jiayi’s cousin, then it was that voice from last night’s phone call?
Wow, a man with such a pleasant voice truly possesses an extraordinary appearance!
But Huo Zhenyang’s handsome face, in an instant, turned colder by several dozen degrees.
Cousin? Ha. To hell with the cousin.
Jiayi, in order to prevent him from objecting, had already taken a few steps forward, deliberately posing as a charming little cousin, "Didn’t I tell you, cousin? I came out to have fun with my colleagues today. Why did you go out of your way to find me? I’m not a child anymore. You should go back first."
A sneer appeared on Huo Zhenyang’s face, yet he stood still, showing no intention of leaving.
Seeing Jiayi trying to send her cousin away, Tang En’en quickly intervened, "Jiayi, your cousin came all this way, why are you sending him away? He might as well join us and have fun together."
Several girls who had been gazing at Huo Zhenyang with starry eyes nodded repeatedly.
Some bold and enthusiastic ones simply ran over and pulled Huo Zhenyang to sit down on the sofa, chattering away as they inquired about his name and job.
Surrounded by a group of young women in the center of the sofa, Huo Zhenyang did not refuse. He chose a spot with a great view of Jiayi across from him, sat down, spread his arms over the armrests on either side, and allowed the group of beauties to flock around him, resembling a frivolous emperor with a harem of consorts and maidens.
Of course, Jiayi didn’t dare to continue dancing and going wild; she obediently went back to her corner of the sofa, picked up a glass of juice, sipped through the straw, and slowly drank.
Occasionally, she felt an intensely hot gaze on her.
This wolf-like stare made her restless.
Seeing that Jiayi’s cousin had arrived and she was no longer dancing, Jiang Pinhao came over and sat down, his voice gentle, "Why did you stop dancing? Are you really afraid of your cousin?"
Jiayi almost choked on her juice, nodded her head in agreement with Jiang Pinhao’s words, "Yeah, my cousin... he is a bit serious, and an old fogey. He’s been controlling me since I was a kid, especially not liking me getting too close to men... so..."
"I see." Jiang Pinhao smiled understandingly and nodded his head.
Look, they’re all men, but why can some be so understanding, gentle, and kind, while others are so domineering and savage!
Jiayi pouted and took a big sip of her drink.
Watching the man and woman whispering and laughing across from her, Huo Zhenyang’s eyes became even more inscrutable.
Just then, he saw Jiayi put down her drink, stand up, and walk out the door.
After drinking a few cups, Jiayi wanted to go to the restroom. She bid Jiang Pinhao farewell and left the private room.
When she came out of the restroom and looked up, she saw a familiar figure standing at the end of the corridor.
It was too late to avoid him, so she steeled herself and walked over, trying to act as if he were air, intending to walk straight past him.
Just as she was about to pass by, as expected, her arm was grabbed and twisted.
"Come back with me. Now," commanded the man, his voice low and magnetic, metallically cold yet textured, and imbued with an imposing force.
"No." This was the first time she had openly defied him since being by his side, and she was a bit panicked inside.
My God, she actually said NO to him.
Huo Zhenyang was also surprised; this little girl, though a bit disobedient in private, had never talked back to him. But today, she had crossed the line time and again.
"Do you know what you are saying?" he gritted his teeth, lowered his voice, enunciating every word.
"I just came out to have fun with friends, what right do you have to control me? President Huo, don’t forget, I’m just pretending to be your girlfriend, not a real one. Even if I were your real girlfriend, we’re not married; I’m not your wife, do you have any right to control me?"
Jiayi didn’t know why she dared to say so much, as if all the grievances in her stomach poured out the moment she saw this man.
He coldly stared at this little white rabbit puffing up with anger, not understanding why she brought up marriage and being a wife, but he tightened his grip on her arm by a fraction and his voice grew even colder: "Real or not, right now you are my woman. Come back with me, or don’t blame me for doing something in front of all these people—"
Before he could finish, Jiayi took a deep breath, "Don’t you have a fiancee? Why do you insist on me pretending? Go win back your fiancee! Wouldn’t that solve everything?"
Fiancee? How does she know about his fiancee?
Huo Zhenyang’s eyes were icy cold, but he saw a hint of shimmering in the girl’s eyes.
Suddenly, Jiayi felt herself being lifted into the air; the damned Huo Zhenyang had hoisted her onto his shoulder.
She panicked, pounding his back with her fists, "Put me down—put me down—"
He walked towards the Qiangui elevator with a cold demeanor, freed one hand to press the elevator button, and stepped in regardless of the pounding on his shoulder.
