Chapter 65: Chapter 65: Do you want me to throw you into the sea?

After gulping down a mouthful of salty seawater, Jiayi coughed twice, and before she could swim toward the spot where Huo Zhenyang had disappeared, she began to panic.

Shortly after, she accidentally let the lifebuoy slip away.

Her body loosened, and she plummeted down into the water.

At first, she could still struggle with her limbs, but gradually, after swallowing several mouthfuls of water, Jiayi’s body sank faster and faster.

Suddenly, a lithe figure glided underwater, swiftly swimming towards the girl.

Just as he was about to reach the girl, a vine-like object, resembling seaweed, rapidly approached Jiayi as well.

It was the most common sea snake in the ocean.

The man’s eyes flashed fiercely, and he sped up. Before the sea snake could reach Jiayi, he quickly reached out with a long arm, grabbed the sea snake, flung it away, then spun around, reaching the girl’s side, wrapping his arm around her slender waist, and began to swim upward against the current.

Jiayi felt as though she was being carried upward, the pressure above her head lightened, and finally, she drew a breath of fresh air. When she opened her eyes, she had surfaced.

Instinctively, she clung to the man’s neck for fear of sinking again, holding on tightly, never to let go.

Huo Zhenyang paddled the water with one hand while cradling her, expertly swimming towards the yacht.

He had been diving, which was why he hadn’t shown up; how could he know that she would jump in when she couldn’t see him and didn’t respond to her calls.

"With your amateur swimming skills, you thought you could save someone," he said with a glance at the dripping wet girl in his arms once they reached safety.

Jiayi was still frightened and her little face puckered up. Regardless of being on the sea, she punched him several times with little force: "You’re blaming me! You scared me to death! Why did you go swimming, and you didn’t even answer when I called you--"

She felt aggrieved, her voice became choked up, and as she spoke, she actually began to cry silently.

As she cried, soon she could not bring out any more tears.

The clothes of both were light and thin garments suitable for the tropics; now, soaked and floating on the sea, they clung transparently close together.

Although they were both soaked in the cool seawater, she distinctly felt she was nestling against a scorching heat source.

She swallowed her tears and turned her head away.

Under the moonlight, her little face resembled a ripe rosy apple, which pleased him greatly. He tightened his grip, pressing her waist into his embrace and forced her to look at him, murmuring softly, "Did you jump in to save me because you were afraid I was dead?"

"I didn’t, I was worried that if you were dead, I couldn’t get back by myself," she retorted with pouted red lips, trying her best not to meet his burning gaze.

"I don’t like liars. Do you want me to throw you into the sea?" His eyes narrowed, the typically icy look in them growing colder.

Although she didn’t believe he would actually throw her into the sea, she felt his hand losen and slide down from her waist slightly, she panicked and quickly clasped his neck tighter, yielding meekly, "I was afraid you were dead, okay..." 𝓯𝙧𝓮𝓮𝒘𝓮𝙗𝙣𝒐𝒗𝒆𝓵.𝓬𝓸𝒎

As soon as she finished speaking, her heart throbbed violently.

She decisively dared not look at him any longer as her face burned fiercely, feeling hot enough to steam an egg.

Stinky man, dead man.

On the unfathomable sea, he threatened her with his own life; of course, she had to say what he wanted to hear!

But...

The anxiety and concern that had erupted instantly when she thought he had disappeared underwater—she couldn’t lie to herself.

She was truly afraid he had died.

The silvery moonlight shone on his incomparably handsome face, his usually cold features relaxed into a satisfying smile as he pulled her closer, no longer allowing the little thing to slip out of his embrace by even an inch.

"How long are you going to look over there? Turn around, look at me," Huo Zhenyang teased as he parted the waves.

"I don’t want to. Just swim, focus on your swimming." She bit her lip hard.

He quirked a lip, the little thing was shy but he wouldn’t let her go. Freeing a hand, he forcibly turned her small head towards him, and with a low teasing voice, he said, "For my sake, you’re willing to give up your life, but you don’t dare to look at me? Not being good again?"

Her face was almost dripping with blood. If she could swim like him, she would have kicked him away and swum back on her own by now. Instead, she could only look up at him, her little pearly teeth nipping at her lips.

Only then did he rub her wet hair, satisfied at last.

In a while, they had swum to the side of the speedboat.

He lifted her onto it, then propped himself up on the edge of the deck, leaping up like a nimble seal, grabbed the dry towels prepared on the speedboat, and threw one to her.

Just as Jiayi finished toweling off, she saw the man in front of her make a slight sound.

"What’s wrong?" She was surprised.

Huo Zhenyang looked down, pressing his palm against his left forearm, his brows furrowed tightly.

She instinctively pushed his hand away and, to her shock, there was a bright red small puncture on his left arm, looking like a teeth mark. Although the wound was small and not bleeding, it was somewhat swollen.

"What happened?" She panicked.

Huo Zhenyang glanced at the sea beside him and said indifferently, "It’s nothing, just got bitten by a sea snake."

In the waters of Southeast Asia, sea snakes were no fewer than fish, shrimp, and seaweed.

Jiayi remembered now. When they were sinking rapidly before, although she was almost confused by the water choking her, she had felt something vine-like swiftly swimming towards her. Thankfully, he came just in time to bring her to the surface.

So, he had been bitten by a sea snake back then.

She hurriedly pushed him to sit by the console: "Is there any first aid on this speedboat? Should we clean it first? No, I think we should call the coast guard right away. We can’t just wait for the battery to charge..."

It was unknown if the sea snake was venomous, but in any case, sitting and resting seemed like the best course of action.

He watched Jiayi’s panic, lips lifting into a thin smile, then paused, suddenly pulled her small hand down, his voice grave, "Kneel down."

She stood there dumbfounded for a moment, then knelt beside his leg, and saw him extending his injured arm close to her face: "Be good, it’s nothing serious, just help me suck out the snake venom."

Suck?

This man, he couldn’t be playing with her again, could he?

But seeing how swollen his forearm was, it didn’t seem like he was lying.

Finally, she made up her mind, took a deep breath, picked up his sturdy arm, and gently pressed her lips to the wound, beginning to suck.

Her soft lips enclosing his wound, tightening and then relaxing, Huo Zhenyang’s gaze grew heavy. Watching Jiayi at his side, his whole body felt warm, and he didn’t know how much strength he had to summon to hold back.

"Suck for a while, then spit it out, don’t swallow. Be good."

Jiayi knew his experience on the sea was surely much greater than hers, so she followed his instructions precisely.

Before long, she spit out a few mouthfuls with streaks of blood, panting with exertion, tired from what was indeed a physically demanding task.

He handed her a bottle of mineral water: "Rinse your mouth." He then cleaned the wound with fresh water.

Jiayi knew he was fine now. She drank some water, cleaned her mouth, and finally managed to finish the task.

At the same time, a green light on the battery station lit up, indicating that the charging was complete.
