Chapter 26: Ding! You have sired a new Thrall

[Panty Sniffer] was a very happy-go-lucky guy. He was the kind of guy who always had good luck in his life. Without working a day in his life, he always had cash. He laughed loud, played hard, and lived his life like a king.

He might be an underling to some bastard, but in his heart, he was always the king of the world. He just... existed. And the universe, for some unfathomable reason, kept handing him wins. This game was one such thing.

All he had to do was twist the hands of some poor sap outside the shop, and he got the helmet. Now, inside the game, the boss had assembled everyone to reveal some sort of level-up secret. Good things just kept happening to him one after the other.

Maybe he saved a world in his previous life, or maybe he fed the homeless. Who knew. He could be a good person. Yup, definitely someone as handsome as him could have once been a very good person.

Lost in his thoughts, [Panty Sniffer] strolled confidently down the path toward Niera City, whistling a tune only he found catchy.

He imagined what it would be like to be a world-renowned adventurer. Maybe he'd stumble upon a secret royal questline. Maybe he'd unlock a hidden bloodline just because he picked a funny dialogue option.

Whatever it was, he could already picture the gold coins raining down, the adoring fangirls, the legendary mount that everyone else could only dream about.

He kicked a stone out of his path and laughed when it hit the target perfectly. "Yeah," he muttered to himself. "I was definitely a hero in my past life."

It was exactly at this moment, someone walked towards him. "Hmmm?" Panty Sniffer stopped. The person's speed was remarkable as they reached him very quickly. "Woah, cool ring bro. Where did you get that?"

Damon smiled. Then, without any warning, he ran to the poor unsuspecting guy and dug his fangs straight into the man's neck. Worst case scenario, his identity as a vampire in the game might come out because of this, but he did not care. There were real-life complications he needed to think about now.

Warm blood flooded his mouth—rich, intoxicating, nothing like the Direhounds but surprisingly not as good as that woman's. He continued drinking, but he did not lose control like he had earlier. Maintaining satiety was obviously the answer to his control issues. Now he just needed to get the timing.

Damon drank a good amount, but he stopped before the dude's health could completely plummet. He left him with a good 5%.

Panty Sniffer dizzily stepped away, his eyes widened in shock and surprise. He stared at the crimson eyes in front of him. "Vampire? You are a vampire? Dude what... why did you... you drank my blood? How did it taste? How did you-"

"Shut up." Damon interrupted him, and to his surprise, Panty Sniffer obeyed. The guy blinked dumbly, just standing there, without saying another word.

And this was not the real world. He had the system to help him figure some things out. Damon's pulse picked up as he watched a series of system notifications flash in front of him.

[Ding! Bloodline Extraction initiated.

[Target: Tier 0 Human Being]

[Ding! You have extracted +1 luck.]

Damon was definitely surprised. He had always thought that he needed to kill something to extract its bloodline, but it turned out that was not the case.

And it looked like this was not all of the notifications. More notifications continued to flash in front of him.

[Ding! You have sired a new Thrall.]

[Target: [Panty Sniffer/ Rolan Tucker] – Bond Established (Moderate)]

—This individual is now mentally susceptible to your commands.

—You may issue basic verbal orders that they will attempt to follow unless it endangers their life or contradicts strong personal values.

—Bloodlink Active: You can sense the general location and emotional state of your Thrall.

—Thralls created from Tier 0 humans will decay faster if left without contact for extended periods.

Damon stared at the notifications, his eyes as wide as saucers. "Holy shit," he muttered under his breath. "I just made a minion."

Bloodreign practically squealed with delight in his mind. "Congratulations! You've made your first pet. He's adorable in a very... disposable kind of way."

Panty Sniffer was still standing there with a dreamy smile, his head tilted slightly like he'd just heard the best news of his life. "So... does this mean I get superpowers now?"

Damon narrowed his eyes. "Maybe."

The man pumped his fist like he'd just won a raffle. "Nice! That sounds about right. I've always said I was a chosen one. Told you, past life karma!"

Damon pinched the bridge of his nose. This guy liked to talk a lot.

Still, the implications were huge. If just a sip of blood could trigger something like this—no ritual, no sacrifice, no prep—then there was so much more to his bloodline than he realized. Siring a thrall...

He opened his status screen and suddenly noticed that a new addition had popped up.

Thrall count: 2

Wait, what? 2?

He clicked the option, and the details of both his thralls opened up.
