Dreams tend to fade away quickly, but the dreamer's mysterious land had an imprint-like characteristic on Ferris' mind. It was hard to forget, not that he would want to though.

Before anything came to mind, he noticed the unfamiliar roof that loomed above him and felt a sense of deja vu, just like when he came into this world with an unprepared mind.

But unlike before, he didn't feel any chaos going through his mind or disjointed memories.

No... forget about the roof, I can't seem to move.

Ferris tensed up, but he couldn't.

I can tell I'm lying on a bed, but I can't call this a bed.

...It's too comfortable.

Ferris' back was practically glued to the mattress, and his head was sunk into the pillow, causing his cheeks to be slightly compressed. 𝙧𝙚𝙚𝔀𝒆𝓫𝓷𝙤𝓿𝒆𝙡.𝒄𝙤𝓶

After everything that had happened, this was a natural reaction.

It feels like I'm getting eskimo kisses by an army of angels. Ferris began to lose consciousness, his mind slowly being hexed by a well-crafted bed.

At this rate...

"Dame Prin, he's awake."

A woman's voice snapped him out of his self-made mind hex. He didn't see it coming, and her voice being unfamiliar added to the surprise.

He begrudgingly sacrificed another hour's sleep by raising his torso using his elbows and looked to his left.

Before he set his gaze on the very room he was in, he focused his eyes on a rather tall lady with platinum blonde hair and opal eyes, wearing simple long sleeves over a dress.

However, despite how beautiful she is and her doll-like appearance, Ferris felt something uncanny about her.

Their eyes met, and Ferris almost wanted to avert his gaze.

For him, his sense of essence was as important to him as his eyes. His vision told him a beautiful woman was standing beside his bed, but his essence detection said otherwise. There was no one there.

Ferris blinked first, losing the staring match.

He took a second to analyze the room around him. It was as large as his current apartment, except it fitted the entire bedroom and was also of higher quality.

It feels like I just broke into a person's home and stole their bed, Ferris thought.

I don't sense any hostile intent around me...

Once everything around him was clear, he sat on the edge of his bed and asked her where he was.

"..."

The lady continued staring with a blank expression.

Ferris quickly became uncomfortable, as he was used to seeing people as blobs of essence, so someone that didn't have that characteristic was rather strange to look at.

But as his knight's creed says, he wouldn't show such thoughts.

Clearly, whoever took me here has cleaned me, healed me, and even clothed me.

This woman might be a servant of this place. My gratitude to the lord of this house naturally extends to her.

A knight must always show his gratitude.

He stood up and bowed to the woman in front of him, but even that didn't incite a reply from her.

She's like a camera... Ferris pursed his lips, not knowing how to even interact with her.

Ferris would move an inch to the side, and her gaze would follow. Moving another inch to the other side resulted in the same thing.

The social distress finally got to him, and he averted his gaze to a window nearby.

"May I take a look?" Ferris pointed at the window.

He went in front of it immediately, assuming that the woman's silence meant she was okay with it.

It was quite foggy outside, and Ferris couldn't make out anything other than a rocky terrain that sloped downwards for who knows how long.

An exotic place indeed, it was obvious whoever owned this house had quite a bit of wealth.

This place must've been located on a mountain, but knowing that wealthy people tend to settle in unique places, this wasn't really much of a concern for him.

"Prin Anvil, he's awake."

Her monotone voice startled Ferris again, and he turned to face her.

This time, there was a small static voice near her ears, with a tone that carried a mix of grogginess and hurriedness.

"T-take him to the living room, actually wait, feed him something first!

No! Scratch that, take him to the living room and feed him there!"

. . .

Ferris suddenly felt at fault in the situation. He could hear that voice very clearly, and it resembled Prodigy Prince's.

He wasn't surprised at all that it was them who took him, Well, I was the one who contacted them first after all.

An S-rank hero, a title that carries a sort of power on it.

But sensing everything around him, he didn't feel any great presence. Compared to someone like Firefly, whose presence was bright and powerful, there was nothing bright around him he could notice.

However, that was to be expected, since Prodigy Prince relies on technology. They don't need to be powerful in the traditional sense.

While thinking, Ferris failed to notice the woman's silent steps.

"I will now bring you to the living room."

She approached Ferris and suddenly grabbed his arm before dragging him with unexpected strength.

Cold skin, like a dead body. That was what Ferris immediately noticed, and it gave him a slight chill.

For the sake of not causing anything awkward to happen, he allowed himself to be carried away by the being in front of him.

She's not human, that's for sure... Ferris lampooned behind her.

Going through the house around him, he took note of the sheer length of its pure white hallways and the wideness of some of the rooms he managed to catch a sneak peek of, which made the bedroom he awoke in feel almost claustrophobic.

Most of this place is empty space.

Opulence is a characteristic knights rarely sought after, but the minimalism he saw prevented any further critique from him.

Well... our old citadel was mostly empty space. Who am I to judge.

Eventually, Ferris and the cold being arrived at a surprisingly small living room. The furniture around them was now that of a wealthy apartment.

It was a simple box-shaped living room, with a full glass wall that he faced when he entered the room, and a black screen that nearly covered the wall to his right, with a door on the corner.

Disregarding the unimportant details of the room, Ferris could finally see what was outside the house without any obstructions like the fog.

He could tell that it was late in the afternoon. Judging by patches of faint stars starting to appear in the darkening sky, he also confirmed that he was on a small mountain that overlooked a small town in the far distance.

A single small town amongst a vast area of farmland and grassfields.

With all the wealth S-rank heroes could get, acquiring and sustaining a large home far away from major cities was not surprising at all.

Ferris suddenly became afraid of the sheer wealth. Even Prodigy Prince's mech would overshadow the cost of this single home, or even their dozens of mansions combined.

This is my first time in this person's dwelling. I mustn't fail to improve my friendship with them!

Ferris became motivated. This was all for his sake, and definitely not something dark.
