The guard looked at Aren, he could tell Aren wasn’t playing around at all. "Tch, you have some pretty crazy good abilities, but none of that is going to stop me from taking her. After all, you are only a new awakened, and I am someone that has stepped far, far above what you can even dream of." He said and then got into a stance.

"But since you are so adamant on dying in my hands, I’ll grant that wish of yours." He said and then lunged forward, moving like a bullet toward Aren.

Aren took a deep breath, everything around him went calm, he activated his martial art. Aren knew that fighting against someone that was several levels above him wouldn’t be easy in the slightest, so he had to be locked in and fight with everything that he had, well maybe not everything, but a good amount.

The guard attacked with a slash first and Aren immediately blocked, lifting his Wolf Guard above his head to block the attack, sparks flew in every direction, he was pushed one step back, but then Aren used that to his advantage, he pressed his foot against the ground, spun around and in that exact moment he summoned the Ancient Devourer while he spun and went for a slash.

The guard noticed the attack, and immediately reacted with his whip, it crackled with flames as it collided with the sword, creating a small explosion that pushed both sides back.

The guard instantly took another stance while Aren stood there, free, he gripped the sword with his left hand, in a loose stance and his eyes pinned on the guard.

"Honestly, if this is the best that you can come up with, then you should forget about going after her and worry more about your survival." Aren said.

The guard frowned, he slowly tossed his whip to the ground and then locked eyes with Aren, "It seems I have allowed you to have your way too much." The moment he said those words, he blasted forward, the speed was so intense that Aren couldn’t even track it, he tried to find the guard but couldn’t.

The guard moved so fast that even inside the shadow sense, Aren still couldn’t pinpoint his location.

Then, he appeared behind Aren, flaming sword in hand, he slashed right for the neck.

Aren sensed the attack at the last moment because the guard was forced to stop for a brief moment as he attacked.

Aren kicked the ground and retreated fast, the blade barely missing his neck. Shock was written all over Aren’s face, but there was no time to remain shocked, the guard already attacked again, using his free hand, he unleashed multiple flame arrows at Aren.

Aren moved back again, dodging each one, the flame arrows slammed into the ground and exploded, leaving massive craters in the ground.

Aren landed on the ground after dodging all, he looked up and the guard was already reaching for him at a crazy speed, thrusting for the neck.

’Shit, his speed just rose rapidly, he is trying to overwhelm me so much that I have no way to counter.’ Aren thought.

Seeing that he had very few choices because of the way that the guard was fighting, he instantly activated his dark armor, it wrapped around him, he lifted his hands and blocked the attack.

Clang, he was thrown back, he flipped through the air, landed on the ground, skidding back and then coming to a stop.

"That’s some real power right there." Aren commented as he got to his feet.

The guard got ready again, "That’s far from all I have." He said.

Athena kept running through the town like Aren asked of her. She felt that running in the alleys would make her an easy target, so she branched outside and entered the main street where a lot of people were, so she could blend in, but that soon turned out to be a bad mistake, because those that were after her didn’t seem to care.

Multiple guards surrounded the area, and then with complete disregard for people’s safety, they started shoving people around one after the other.

Athena noticed and then lowered her head, she ignored what was happening, but then she lifted her head once in order to see where she could head into, only for her eyes to meet with one of the guards.

Instantly the guard recognized her and immediately attacked. Pointing his hand at her, a massive bolt of lightning ripped through the air, people rushed away in fear, not wanting to be caught in the attack.

Athena had no choice but to defend herself, she immediately unleashed chaos that slammed into the attack, an explosion ripped through the air, causing even more panic.

She looked around and she could see that more than ten guards had managed to encircle her in this place. Fear gripped her, the earth beneath her started trembling, shaking extremely violently.

The guards and the people around were stunned by the sudden happening, how was an earthquake happening here.

"It must be her fault, rush forward and stop her." One guard said and instantly all the guards rushed at her.

"Stay away." Athena yelled, her third eye open as instantly a massive wave pushed outward, slamming into the guards, throwing all of them back, while coughing huge amounts of blood at the same time.

They slammed into the ground hard, all of them, their bodies filled with pain.

Athena looked around, seeing that all her opponents were down, she immediately tried to run, only for someone to land in front of her.

Athena looked up, and saw a lady in stunning black, leather ankle length jacket and black body armor underneath, she had stunning red hair and eyes.

Athena instantly attacked with chaos, but the lady lifted her hands and some sort of force stopped the attack.

Athena was stunned, she wanted to attack again, but the lady spoke.

"Stop it, your friend has been captured."
