SSS Ranked Taboo Student-Chapter 251: Jason
"Where are we?"
Zara asked, obviously not going to get an answer because everyone was too dazed to respond.
The fresh scent of salt water filled the air, accompanied by a chilling breeze.
Up in the sky, a bright full moon shone. Illuminating the stretching sea in surreal brilliance.
The surroundings were breathtaking but not serene. Bustling with life and activity, cars could be seen driving through the port in a hurry while Jets made their landings.
The fact that they were on a ship this big and could carry hundreds of aircraft completely overwhelmed the Elites. Max wasn’t exempted either.
But just then, cutting through their thoughts. 3 UTVs parked before them, driven by men in camouflage. They nodded at the instructor and didn’t seem to care much about the Elites.
"Get in." The Instructor ordered with a serious look on his face. His usual carefree gone, same with the cigarette.
Across the wide take-off lane, on the opposite stand. A group of students could be seen alighting from a similar super falcon x jet. All dazed with a shocked look on their faces.
The piercing arrival of another jet sounded as it landed.
’So it’s really a conference of Elite Students from around the globe.’
Although the term for SS Elites differed for each school, he understood how serious what they were here for.
Not long after, all three PTVs stopped within a yellow square line and the ground beneath descended following a series of electronic beeps.
As they descended through the shaft, a lit opening soon appeared, revealing a clean white interior that seemed to be a secret base.
Men and women in lab coats could be seen hurrying to meet their busy schedules while armed men in camouflage were along every corner.
The shaft let out a sharp beep and a middle-aged man in a lab coat approached them.
"Elite Metropolitan?"
He asked straightforwardly, earning a nod from the instructor.
"I’m Doc Murphy. Let’s go, the others are waiting?"
They shook and the instructor smiled.
"Stay close in your best composure and be attentive. We can’t falter before our competitors."
According to the Instructor’s words the Elites exchange glances once more.
The man, Doc Murphy, hastily led them to a nearby elevator after swiping his card.
"Virtual Impact X is humanity’s first true breakthrough into virtual reality. You were brought here to test its full efficiency."
Doc Murphy turned to them and casually explained the reason they were here instead of letting the moment pass by in silence.
Seeing the lit curiosity in their eyes he continued.
"You’ll be running a full combat drill to test your performance. As for your opponents..."
Beep!
The elevator stopped and its door slid open to reveal a grandiose, spacious, fully equipped computer lab.
There was no sign of hasty people in white clothes. Instead the whole space seemed controlled and oppressive as the attention of the gathering that had formed rested on them upon their arrival.
Some in a group of 3, 4 and maximum of 5.
Their uniforms clearly differentiated.
Among them Max recognised the Sentinels and Paragons by their uniform.
The gathering in total was more than a hundred.
Looking closely there were quite a few distinguished youths that stood out even among the likes of SS Elites.
Their presence radiated oppressively as the faces of those beside them were solemn.
They were the pinnacle of what a student could be, equal to SSS Elite.
"They are here?"
Max sensed the aura of the Elites turn tense like they’d encountered an overwhelming foe.
"I must say, this is quite the gathering-"
"Shut up. No one wants to hear your crap." Before the instructor could finish his words, a rude voice cut him off from afar. It was a lean man in a similar loose fashion sense as the Instructor. Beside him a group of arrogant youths in burgundy red blazer and navy downs could be seen smirking at them.
"Royals." One of the girls said to squeezed teeth.
The instructor raised a middle finger at the man and the atmosphere fell into oppressive silence once more.
Max could sense the curious gaze checking them out just as they did too.
By now they all knew what they were here for.
Not long after, a few groups joined them. Raising the numbers to 150.
Following the arrival of the last group however, a youth with black striking jet hair packed neatly with a faint trail of his hair cream approached the SS Elites.
His uniform was completely white with the logo of a throne.
"What’s the Sovereign High Student doing?"
Max heard someone say not expecting all eyes would be on him the next instant.
"Hi there cousin."
The Sovereign High student pointed at Max, puzzling everyone present.
’Huh? Who the fuck are you?’
Feeling quite disrespected by the time of the youth. Max remained silent in puzzlement.
But just then, another person spoke up, diverting the attention from him.
"I thought you knew more than to reveal family fight to the public."
From the Paragon side, Nathan revealed himself. His composure calm and cool at he pointed at Jason.
In the Riders family, the Matriarch actually once had 6 daughters. Max’s mother had passed away and the last daughter amongst them was said to have left the family on her own accord. Just to be with her lover from another rivaling family. Jason was her child who turned out be quite devilish with a very high IQ. He became an SSS Ranked Student a year ago and made the family feel a sense of loss. Especially the Matriarch.
Seeing 3 of the Riders family descent about to cause a commotion. Everyone had a look of interest on their faces.
"First Evelyn now you two?"
Jason smiled, candidly touching his chin with a glint in his eyes.
’What are they talking about?’
Confused by the unfolding scenario, Max set his eyes on Nathan.
’So he’s also remarkable.’ he thought.
"Silence!"
Before the two could exchange another word, a rather short tempered man in white coat walked and stood at the centre, meeting the eyes of the instructors and the elites behind them.
"We’ve prepared a room for each team. Follow your assigned chief to have your VI Suits equipped.
The surrounding for this drill will be a live field of the Amazon tropical Forest.
A map will be generated and your mission objectives would be to strike down members of opposing teams. The highest counts win.
There are no rules."
Bang!
The man slammed his fist on the desk before him after reciting such a long speech.
The air lit with excitement and thrill as they were led to a mechanical room.
There they saw black suits interconnected with wires to several parts, hung in the air awaiting them to wear them."
