Chapter 162: Difference Between You and Me

Zhong Cheng felt a bit sad that the boss did not know his name.

"...It’s Zhong Cheng, boss."

He had served Bei Sangyun since the first week she transferred to the school, yet the tyrant did not even know his name. Huhu.

"Zhong Cheng. I’ll remember your name," Bei Sangyun nodded in acknowledgment. "...It’s kind of a pity that I only get to know you more in this life..." Bei Sangyun muttered.

Zhong Cheng wasn’t sure if that statement was a joke. But he still laughed happily, "I will show you that I am pretty useful, boss! You can get to know me more then."

If not for the pressing matters at hand, he would like to showcase more of his talents and get the boss’ approval.

.....

Zhong Cheng stared at Bei Sangyun’s back in admiration. As his boss predicted, things would be easier to handle if they let those people who had grudge against her gather around and look for her. This saves them the trouble of picking them out one by one.

The guards who arrived had not only let them go but they helped them restrain Da Li and his men.

Based on the guard’s response, Zhong Cheng could summarize that his boss had the school on her side. No matter what the rumors said, Bei Sangyun still held a very strong reign in the school.

Isn’t this already proof that his boss could pull it off despite having a complicated background? So what if she was an illegitimate child? She was a hundred times better than others!

It was not only Zhong Cheng who had seen through the situation; Zhi Ming also noticed the way the guards respectfully addressed Bei Sangyun. The school was standing by the tyrant’s side. Zhi Ming’s eyes sparkled; his instincts were really right on the mark!

Bei Sangyun was unaware of the lackeys’ thoughts. She walked toward Da Li. "We meet again. I thought you already learned your lesson. But to be this bold, someone must be behind you. Who is it?"

Da Li was forced to kneel. He wanted to act tough and curse out loud, but facing Bei Sangyun so closely made him remember the terror she instilled in him that day.

Still, the humiliation and anger he had suffered because of her could not allow him to lower his pride. Not to mention, the one who was humiliating him was just a bastard child!

Besides, he already found a strong backer. He was no longer afraid of the Lin family nor of Bei Sangyun.

"I am not afraid of you!" Da Li said with a raised head.

"I am not telling you to be afraid of me," Bei Sangyun calmly replied. She lowered her head and whispered, "I am actually giving you a chance to save your ass. After offending me once, I gave you a chance to reflect on yourself and serve under Fei Chuan. But what did you do?"

Bei Sangyun stared into Da Li’s eyes that were trembling in nervousness, "You sent half-hearted letters as an apology? Do you think that would work?"

Bei Sangyun signaled Zhong Cheng to push down Da Li on the floor.

Zhong Cheng understood her signal and ordered a few lackeys to hold Da Li down. Zhi Ming and He Bao immediately stepped forward. They understood the assignment without a word and stretched Da Li’s arms on the floor.

Da Li felt the cold, hard ground hit his face. The weather was cold since its winter. His knees were already freezing. Being forced to hug the floor, Da Li felt the unbearable coldness penetrating through his bones.

"W-what are you doing?! Let me go!"

Bei Sangyun stepped on his hand, causing Da Li to scream in pain.

"You should have offered your hand to be his stepping stone, begged him fervently to forgive you, and never rest until he said so. But you didn’t." Bei Sangyun put more force on her foot, "That’s why my Fei Chuan is unhappy."

Da Li sniffed from the cold. He gritted his teeth, "If you only know how to settle things through violence, what makes you different from a thug?"

"I don’t care about using violence on people like you," Bei Sangyun replied without a care, "Don’t play the good person card on me. It won’t work. I am ’the tyrant,’ remember?"

Da Li: "...."

Da Li was shivering from the cold. The half part of his face that was pressed on the cold ground was already numb. But he remained silent. He only needed to hold out. That ’person’ would surely rescue him.

Da Li believed that since the fight was big, this incident must have circulated around the school. That person would have heard what happened to him then.

Bei Sangyun saw that Da Li had no intention of speaking. She also had no patience for interrogating him. She suddenly missed the professionals that she hired to get information from people back then. Those professionals were so good at torturing others that no matter who it was, they wouldn’t last a day.

Bei Sangyun shook her head. She won’t go down that path again. She would not be as ruthless and cruel like before where everyone called her a ’she-devil’. She still had to live as a good person. Although the last statement seemed impossible to accomplish, she was working hard on it.

Bei Sangyun turned to Zhong Cheng, "He wouldn’t talk soon. So let him stay like that until he feels like speaking. As for the others, as long as they give their word that they won’t act recklessly like this again, we will spare them. But if I find them breaking that word—"

Bei Sangyun glanced at the people kneeling on the ground. Her eyes flashed with ruthlessness, "I’ll find them one by one and destroy their lives."

(A/n: Ehem, what happened to being a good person?)

....

Bei Sangyun left the rest to Zhong Cheng to handle. She already had an idea who it could be. However, it would be more interesting if someone mentioned his name first before she exposed that person.

Anyway, based on how he was using people to get to her, he must be becoming impatient. Was the other side progressing well?

....

When Bei Sangyun arrived in the classroom, she felt a heated gaze directed at her.

Sophia was glaring darkly at her.

Bei Sangyun raised her brow. What happened that made that bitch with princess disease be in a dark mood?

The answer immediately occurred to her.

Bei Sangyun subconsciously glanced at Fei Chuan’s side. The man had brought his laptop and was focused on his own thing.

Seeing his calm and focused face, and then to Sophia’s fierce look, Bei Sangyun could summarize what happened.

She laughed. She could imagine Fei Chuan answering to Sophia’s ’sweet inquiries’ in his normal rude words. He must have told her to fuck off, right?

Her laughter caused Fei Chuan, who was engrossed in his laptop, to pause. He looked up and saw Bei Sangyun shaking her head with a laugh.

Fei Chuan was too focused that he only noticed now that she had arrived. But why was she laughing?

He just gave her a strange look and went back to doing his own thing.

Sophia heard Bei Sangyun’s laughter. The embarrassment and shame in her heart grew. She felt that Bei Sangyun was laughing at her!

Seeing Sophia’s face getting darker, an idea occurred to Bei Sangyun.

"Hey, Fei Chuan."

Fei Chuan paused typing and glanced up at her, waiting for her words.

Bei Sangyun leaned closer and whispered, "We haven’t done our three-second rule yet."

Fei Chuan frowned. That was so random.

But the sooner this task ends, the sooner Bei Sangyun would leave him alone. So he stretched out his hand.

Bei Sangyun moved aside to make sure Sophia saw this scene. She then held Fei Chuan’s hand. As expected, Sophia, who was staring at her with daggers in her eyes, froze in shock. Her wide eyes fell on those slender, beautiful fingers resting on Bei Sangyun’s palm.

Bei Sangyun smirked. Seeing that reaction made her past grievances of being played around by her dissipate a lot. However, before she could feel the warmth of the hand on her palm, Fei Chuan already withdrew his hand.

He immediately hid it under his jacket and turned his face away from Bei Sangyun, "That’s enough, right?"

Bei Sangyun felt a bit disappointed. She forgot to tease him because she was too focused on watching Sophia’s expression. "...Yeah."

It would be very hard to hold his ’miraculous’ hand again. She could only wait for tomorrow.

"Then, don’t bother me," Fei Chuan continued working on his laptop again.

He seemed focused and unbothered. But the redness of his ears under his long, shabby hair said otherwise.

.....

As Sophia got in the car, she slammed the door loudly.

"That bitch!" She let out the scream she was holding.

Ever since that bitch figured out her plan of seducing Fei Chuan, Bei Sangyun had become a hundred times more annoying.

Throughout the entire period, Bei Sangyun deliberately leaned closer to Fei Chuan and conversed with him. When Bei Sangyun caught her looking, she would smirk at her with that arrogant expression on her face.

As if she was saying that she was the only one who could approach Fei Chuan like that. That compared to her, who could not even last three seconds in a conversation, she- Bei Sangyun was special.

This angered Sophia and fueled her desire to conquer Fei Chuan even more. So, in the remaining classes, she took every chance she could to speak more to Fei Chuan. However, the man just outrightly ignored her as if she did not exist.

And every time Fei Chuan ignored her, Bei Sangyun would break the silence and ask Fei Chuan something else, deliberately emphasizing the difference between them. What was more infuriating was that Fei Chuan answered that bitch! Of course, with that scowling face.

Still! He answered her every time!

This made Sophia burn in jealousy and hatred. What she loathed the most was not getting what she wants while others were able to take it.

If she can’t get it, no one else can! Only she can!

.....

Additional Scene:

The conversation that Bei Sangyun initiated with Fei Chuan to especially annoy Sophia.

Bei Sangyun: "Hey, let’s talk."

Fei Chuan looked at her strangely: "Don’t rope me in whatever schemes you have in mind."

Bei Sangyun: "It’s too late, you are already talking to me."

Fei Chuan: "...."

Sophia: *gritted teeth* So hateful!

2nd Conversation:

Bei Sangyun: "What are you busy with on your laptop?"

Fei Chuan: *ignored her*

Bei Sangyun: "Your fingers are slender and long...quite pretty."

Fei Chuan: *got embarrassed* "Mind your own business."

3rd Conversation:

Bei Sangyun: "I want to visit the food stall later. Want to join me?"

Fei Chuan: *snapped in irritation* "Will you shut up?"
