Chapter 412: Tempt me

Bei Sangyun immediately booked a flight for the next day. She wanted to surprise Grandma Bei and pick her up personally.

"Would you like to come with me? The trip might take three or four days, and we could do some sightseeing while we’re there," Bei Sangyun suggested to Fei Chuan, already planning the itinerary in her mind.

She planned to stay in Y Country for at least three days, exploring the area with Grandma Bei and Fei Chuan. If they enjoyed the place and wanted to see more, they could always return and bring Grandma Pei next time.

However, Fei Chuan disagreed. He playfully flicked her forehead. "We still have exams to prepare for. Let’s explore next time. But if you’d like, you can visit some places with Grandma Bei. I’ll wait for you at home."

Bei Sangyun pouted in disappointment. She had hoped to go with Fei Chuan, but he was always so strict.

But the words ’wait for you at home’ made her forgive him instantly.

Well, they could plan for it next time.

"Nah, we’ll make it a quick trip. I’ll miss you if I stay too long. We can go together next time."

Fei Chuan patted her head. "Good girl."

Bei Sangyun blinked. Was he pacifying and complimenting her like a child?

This feeling was entirely new to her. Who would dare treat someone like her, the great devil, like a child?

Only Fei Chuan could get away with that.

Bei Sangyun smiled and savored his gentle touch.

Since Fei Chuan wasn’t going, Bei Sangyun canceled the flight she had booked for both of them and arranged a first-class ticket for herself instead.

Fei Chuan accompanied her to the airport. As they waited for her flight, he held her hand the entire time.

Bei Sangyun leaned on his shoulder, savoring each passing second.

"Are you sure you don’t want to come?" she asked again, trying her luck.

"Do you miss me already?" Fei Chuan teased.

Bei Sangyun looked up at him, admiring his handsome profile.

"Yeah. I want to see you always and hold hands with you like this."

Fei Chuan’s eyes curved into a smile. He glanced around, and noticing that the few people in the airport were busy with their own activities, he leaned down and gently kissed the top of her head.

"Me too."

Bei Sangyun blinked, then smiled and snuggled closer to him. She loved it when Fei Chuan initiated such intimacy. When he did, it felt so innocent, pure, and affectionate—unlike her own gestures, which always seemed overwhelming and passionate.

Tsk. Now she sounded like a pervert.

"Should I be a bad granddaughter and wait for Grandma here instead?" Bei Sangyun muttered as she savored Fei Chuan’s warmth.

Fei Chuan raised an eyebrow. "Can you?"

Bei Sangyun pouted. "... I can’t." She couldn’t do that to Grandma Bei.

She sighed and hugged Fei Chuan’s arm. "But I’m going to miss you so much."

"You’ll only be gone for a few days. We can handle it."

Bei Sangyun got the feeling that Fei Chuan was actually looking forward to her leaving. She eyed him suspiciously. "Why does it seem like you want me to leave? You’re not hiding anything, are you?"

Fei Chuan stiffened, trying to maintain his smile. "... I’m not hiding anything."

"You’re sure there are no other girls?"

Fei Chuan: "..."

Seeing the speechless look on his face, she nodded. "Right, no one else can be as good or better than me. I’m sure you’d find it hard to look at another woman when you already have a pretty, intelligent, and perfect girlfriend."

Fei Chuan chuckled. "You’re right. I’ll never find anyone like you. I could never love anyone else. I belong to you, and you belong to me. So don’t go looking for other guys over there, no matter how attractive the Westerners might be, okay?"

Bei Sangyun was amused by his reaction. As he said, she’d only be gone for a few days. How could she possibly find time to date someone else?

Besides, she already had the best boyfriend she could ever wish for.

Bei Sangyun grinned. "Then you’ll have to tempt me every day so that I only have eyes for you."

Fei Chuan frowned. Tempt her? How?

He thought for a few seconds, then leaned down, bringing his handsome face close to hers until their noses were almost touching.

"Like this?"

Bei Sangyun nearly went cross-eyed from how close his face was. His warm breath, carrying a hint of mint and the subtle fragrance of his fabric softener, overwhelmed her senses.

Her heart pounded.

Her eyes locked onto his dark pupils, which seemed to ensnare her, yet she couldn’t resist the allure of his red lips, so tempting to look at.

She swallowed hard.

Was this what Maid Ye Zhai meant by making the other person desire them?

Damn. She should have been the one using this trick, but Fei Chuan had mastered it after just one attempt.

He was really a seductive demon. If he was this tempting as a novice, how irresistible would he be in a few years?

As if bewitched by his beautiful eyes and seductive lips, Bei Sangyun slowly closed the distance, wanting to kiss those lips.

But Fei Chuan suddenly pulled back, leaving Bei Sangyun kissing nothing but air.

He smirked. "I see what you mean now. Don’t worry, I’ll ’tempt’ you every day."

Bei Sangyun: "..."

Maid Ye Zhai’s words suddenly crossed her mind.

’Tempt him, but don’t give him everything. Keep him wanting more, keep him unsatisfied....’

Dang. How could anyone endure that?

It was like being starved for three days and then having a pie placed in front of her, only to be told she could only smell it, not touch it.

Had she just dug her own grave?

The announcer suddenly called for Bei Sangyun’s flight.

Bei Sangyun sulked and gazed at Fei Chuan pitifully. "I’m leaving, and you won’t see me for three or four days. Are you really not going to let me kiss you?"

Fei Chuan stood up and picked up her belongings without answering.

Bei Sangyun sighed. The other passengers for her flight had also stood up. With people around them, there was no way she could get that kiss.

Fei Chuan escorted her to the first-class entryway, where there were fewer people.

He stopped, allowing those behind them to go ahead.

Bei Sangyun took her bag from him. "I’ll call you. I want to hear your voice every day, so make sure you answer. And don’t overwork yourself. I’ll study for at least an hour or two while I’m there, so don’t worry about my studies. Just take care of yourself, okay?"

Fei Chuan nodded. "You too."

Bei Sangyun pouted. She had said so much, but Fei Chuan only responded with two words.

"I’m leaving now. Bye." Bei Sangyun stood there, still not moving despite saying those words.

They stood quietly for a few seconds, just looking at each other.

The announcer issued the final boarding call.

Bei Sangyun made a sad face. She wanted to look at him a little longer.

She turned around reluctantly. "... Bye..."

But as soon as she turned, she was hugged tightly from behind.

Bei Sangyun wanted to turn and hug him back, but Fei Chuan’s arms around her waist kept her locked in place.

"Eat well, sleep well, and have a lot of fun there. Be safe, okay? I’ll be waiting for you."

His voice was low and restrained, as if he was holding back something.

Bei Sangyun’s heart trembled. She hugged his arms around her waist. "I will. I’ll see you soon. If you miss me, call me."

"Mhm. Go on now. Don’t look back."

Fei Chuan finally released her.

Bei Sangyun walked toward the entryway. Beyond the glass door was the escalator leading to the boarding bridge. As she stepped onto the escalator, she couldn’t help but turn around.

Fei Chuan hadn’t moved. He stood there, watching her.

She smiled and waved. Fei Chuan waved back.

Bei Sangyun’s smile gradually faded.

But... why did he look so sad and... guilty?

His figure was soon hidden by the beam, leaving Bei Sangyun wondering.

...

An airplane ascended into the sky, growing smaller and smaller until it was no longer visible.

As the plane disappeared from sight, Fei Chuan finally let go of the cough he had been trying to suppress. The rusty, bitter taste of blood filled his mouth as he coughed. When he began to walk, his head started to spin.

Fei Chuan quickly looked for a bench and sat down, trying to recover from the sudden dizziness. Once he calmed down, he called his driver to pick him up—he feared he might pass out before reaching the car.

As soon as Driver Wang arrived, Fei Chuan immediately instructed, "Bring Doctor Jang to the house. Tell him it’s happening again."

Driver Wang’s expression turned grim. Doctor Jang was Fei Chuan’s personal physician, and seeing his young master too weak to even walk to the car by himself, he realized the situation was serious.

"Yes, young master. Should I call Ms. Pei?"

Fei Chuan held his throbbing head, "...You may. But please, tell her to warn everyone not to mention this to Bei Sangyun."

He clung to Driver Wang as his vision darkened. "...Please... I can’t let her know. At least not now. Give me three days... If I’m still unconscious when she returns, only then can you tell her."

Driver Wang hesitated, but Fei Chuan pleaded, "Please... I don’t want her to worry while she’s spending time with her grandma whom she hasn’t seen in so long..."

Finally, Driver Wang nodded. "Alright, young master. I’ll convince Ms. Pei and the others. I promise."

Hearing the promise he needed, Fei Chuan finally released him and passed out.

The car then sped toward the villa. A short while later, Doctor Jang arrived, and the entire place was thrown into chaos for the next three days.
