Chapter 3396: The High Seraph

Far away, by the walls of the Immemorial Citadel, beneath the flames, Mister Mu stared out into outer space, his brow deeply furrowed.

For a short while, an ominous premonition had shrouded his mind, and it was only growing stronger. Where was it coming from?

Deep underground, the Origin Progenitor raised his head. “Old Mu.”

Mister Mu arrived. “You feel it too?”

The Origin Progenitor nodded, his expression grim. “Something is wrong. It feels as though something significant is about to happen. For beings as powerful as us to feel this sort of premonition... This is even worse than when Yong Heng led the Three Pillars and Six Skies to fight against us. Something’s terribly wrong. What about Pillar? Has he still not emerged from the Mirari Realm?”

Mister Mu responded solemnly, “Not yet. Could something be about to happen to Little Seven?”

“That seems highly likely. Anything can go wrong, but not to Pillar. It’s too hard to get into the Mirari Realm. If it comes to it, withdraw your Origin Tracer. As soon as you do so, you’ll be able to trace the River of Aeons into the Mirari Realm, and then you can see what’s happened to Pillar,” the Origin Progenitor suggested.

Mister Mu thought for a moment. “Alright.”

With that, he departed.

Mister Mu was soon standing in a corner of the Immemorial Citadel, his hands clasped behind his back. He was staring up at the sky. Mu Zhu was close by, standing guard over her master.

Origin Tracer had been used to dam the River of Aeons and anchor the Mirari Realm to the Tianyuan Megaverse. That incident had triggered many events. Mister Mu had never expected that he would voluntarily withdraw Origin Tracer after Aeternus’s defeat.

Retrieving Origin Tracer would restore some measure of his original strength, but it would also grant other megaverses access to the River of Aeons, erasing the Tianyuan Megaverse’s current advantage.

Mister Mu did not want to withdraw Origin Tracer, but he had no choice. For Lu Yin, he had to do this.

Mister Mu raised his hand and struck at the void. It looked as though he was trying to grab something.

Mu Zhu instantly grew wary of their surroundings.

Suddenly, Mister Mu’s expression changed drastically. Something was very wrong, but it was not with Little Seven, but rather with him. A pair of eyes appeared before the man, and there was a loud bang as a cloud of blood exploded from his back. An assailant had struck Mister Mu’s chest while softly saying, “The Spirit Nidus’s High Seraph, at your service.”

Mister Mu stared into the eyes before him, and he pressed both of his hands downward in an attempt to suppress this intruder.

However, the unknown figure moved like a monster. Dozens of attacks were unleashed in an instant, each carrying an indescribable profoundness with it, and Mister Mu was sent flying.

Only then was Mu Zhu able to react, and she lashed out in fury. The High Seraph’s figure flickered nine times, his aura spiked up from absolutely nothing, rising to the point where the entire Immemorial Citadel trembled.

The Origin Progenitor looked over, his face growing pale. Who possessed such terrifying power? Old Mu!

“Ninefold Heavens Transformation! Veilparter!”

Those words were all that Mu Zhu heard before her vision went dark. She knew nothing more, as her body was reduced to a cloud of blood.

“You are courting death!” People started arriving from all directions, each of them attacking the High Seraph.

Ce Wangtian’s slipper slammed down, while the ancestor of the super giants threw a powerful punch. The High Seraph’s eyes remained icy. Just a glance from them was enough to suppress the flames beneath the Immemorial Citadel.

Bang!

Bang!

Bang!

There were only a few faint sounds that rang out, but none of them could withstand the High Seraph’s palm strikes. Each blow he threw might as well have been the touch of death itself.

From beneath the Immemorial Citadel, the Origin Progenitor raised a hand. Verdant Eternity was released, and the Origin Progenitor’s Sword fell, accompanied by the six grains of Primaldust as the blade slashed at the High Seraph.

The man looked up, and said, “In your prime, you would have indeed been a worthy opponent. But I won’t kill you—I’ll keep you here to suppress the Tianyuan Megaverse. You will suffer the ultimate restrictions with its future.”

The High Seraph raised his hand and firmly grabbed hold of the Origin Progenitor’s Sword. With nothing more than brute strength, he crushed the blade, shattering the sword while scattering the six grains of Primaldust.

The Origin Progenitor was stunned. This man was the danger that they had sensed earlier. This person possessed unmatched power, and he truly stood at the peak of his megaverse.

The High Seraph’s body disappeared as he prepared to leave the Immemorial Citadel. Suddenly, the city’s flames surged, and Mister Mu rose up from the ruins. From the moment he had first arrived in the Tianyuan Megaverse, he had never suffered such grave injuries before. The last time he had been so badly injured was during his escape from his own megaverse.

The High Seraph turned back and met Mister Mu’s eyes. “While I admire your strength, it’s incomplete. If you wish to die, I will oblige you.”

Mister Mu spun his wooden flute, his expression growing solemn as he summoned the flames of the Immemorial Citadel. “Ancient mirebound artifact, shine once more and aid me to slay this enemy.”

The Immemorial Citadel collapsed, flames scattering in all directions while the wooden flute shattered.

Soon thereafter, the High Seraph stepped away from the Immemorial Citadel, the flames slowly dying. He was staring in a specific direction. “The Heavens Sect... is that where it is?”

Beneath the Immemorial Citadel, the Origin Progenitor coughed up blood as he waved his hand, shattering the void. “Run! You must escape!”

The Origin Universe’s void shattered, and a beam of light slammed into the Heavens Sect. Wu Tian and Garan Zhiluo shot to their feet. “Master’s power!”

“Run! Run! Hurry and escape!” the Origin Progenitor’s voice rang out.

Wu Tian and the others were all horrified, and they failed to process what was happening.

The next moment, the universe grew chaotic as time and space twisted and warped. Everyone looked up at the sky to see a massive millstone slowly take shape. Clouds were stirred up as the entire universe was gradually drawn into the millstone’s influence.

The High Seraph looked at the Heavens Sect. “I don’t sense that person’s presence here. Let’s see how long you can keep hiding for. I’ll grind this entire universe to nothingness.”

Outside the megaverse’s stone gate, Chu Yi arrived on the springboard, and he immediately looked into the distance as Lu Yuan, Sovereign Dou Sheng, and several others turned to look at the man. "Why have you returned?"

Chu Yi shouted, "Hurry! The High Seraph is coming!"

In the Mirari Realm, Lu Yin slowly opened his eyes. Master Qing Cao had intended to seal Lu Yin for 100 years, but man proposes and heaven disposes. The Immortal had ignored Progenitor Ku.

Progenitor Ku had sacrificed himself to the forbidden region’s karma, drawing away all of the karma within the Karma Sanctum. Even the karma that sealed Lu Yin had been drawn away, releasing him.

Lu Yin understood what had happened, as his mind had remained clear throughout it all.

As soon as he was freed, he rushed over to Progenitor Ku.

"Return. I will follow my own path," Progenitor Ku stated.

Lu Yin raised his hand. Karma spiraled around his fingertips as he attempted to save Progenitor Ku, but there was nothing that Lu Yin could do.

The sheer amount of karma in the forbidden region far exceeded what Lu Yin could handle with his newly comprehended True Self Illumination Technique. If not for this limitation, Lu Yin would not have been so helpless against Master Qing Cao.

"Lord Lu, everyone must follow their own path," Progenitor Ku spoke again.

Lu Yin let out a deep breath and bowed to Progenitor Ku. "Thank you, Senior, for your sacrifice."

He then bowed a second time. He was not sure how much time had passed for the outside world, but he wanted to first find the Seraph in the Mirari Realm.

At that moment, Lu Yin heard Wei Nu’s voice. "The High Seraph has invaded the Tianyuan Megaverse. Most of your people are probably already dead."

Lu Yin’s expression changed drastically. "What did you just say?"

Wei Nu remained silent.

Lu Yin fled from the forbidden region and then tore through the void to return to the Heavens Sect. He had no idea if Wei Nu was telling the truth or not. Please, let it all be a lie! Why would the High Seraph suddenly come? Is it because of Palace Master Yao? Or something else?

It had to be a lie! He could only hope that that was the case.

Lu Yin quickly arrived at the Heavens Sect. A glance revealed a massive millstone in the distance, warping the entire universe.

The Astral River, which was normally a silk ribbon, had been shredded by the millstone.

He could see figures recklessly dashing forward, as though seeking death.

Wu Tian had the pages of his Martial Scriptures out. Hongyan Mavis moved with the Mavis family’s Divine Tree. Garan Zhiluo wielded her spear. Ancestor Lu Yuan was also present, and even Chu Yi had returned, as had Sovereign Dou Sheng, Lu Tianyi, Mu Shen, and many others.

Everyone was targeting a single person standing beneath the millstone. That was the High Seraph.

In order to attack the High Seraph, it was necessary to first get past the millstone’s region of influence. The millstone had suppressed everyone nearby, draining nearly half of their strength away. This was the third-ranked sequence base, the Everstone. It had been formed from incomprehensibly resolute consciousness. Anyone who wanted to move past the Everstone would suffer from having their consciousness crushed, and they would be incapable of utilizing their full power.

The High Seraph moved about effortlessly. He did not manipulate the power of space or time, and yet no one could touch him. A single palm shattered the Divine Tree, the strike passing through Hongyan Mavis’s forehead. Another wave of the man’s arm destroyed Lord Xu.

“So many ants. Dominion's Mantle.” As the High Seraph spoke, his white robe fluttered, the movement tearing through both Shan Gu and Ye Wu. Invisible flames spread across the entire Origin Universe.

Mu Ke, Mu Xie, Qing Ping, Big Sis, and many others, all of whom were part of the Heavens Sect, charged at the millstone.

Lu Yin’s face grew pale. In just an instant, he had seen several of his people perish.

“This has to be fake! Am I still trapped in the cycle of karma? This can’t be real!”

Space warped, and countless people wailed. The Origin Universe was being destroyed.

Even the members of Second Life charged forward, along with massive mechas, the Scourge Occupation’s fortress, and all the black energy converter users.

The High Seraph raised his hand. "Ninefold heavens transformation: shapeless, formless, and impassable without transcendence. Today, I’ll show this megaverse what it means to face the High Seraph.”

The High Seraph’s flickered about repeatedly, appearing and disappearing a total of nine times. Each flicker caused his aura to double in strength. This was an invincible battle technique.

From where they were trapped beneath the Immemorial Citadel, both Yuan Qi and Palace Master Yao grew ecstatic. The High Seraph had come to save them.

No one could stop the High Seraph, absolutely no one. People could not even comprehend such immense power.

Yuan Qi had once shared the theory that the Spirit Nidus’s invincible being might have been fabricated by the High Seraph so that he could suppress everyone else in the Spirit Nidus. Without such a threat, it might not have been possible for the High Seraph to maintain control over the Seven Seraphs.

But this was completely wrong. If Lu Yin had not heard that theory, how could he have had the courage to challenge the High Seraph?

The High Seraph’s power exceeded everyone’s imagination. He was less than a step away from entering the Immortal realm. He was a powerhouse who had reached the end of his Dukkha, and the man’s sequence particles rivaled a sequence base even on his own.

As long as he did not face an Immortal, the High Seraph was invincible. That was his strength.

Lu Yin took a step forward. His consciousness was strong enough to prevent him from being crushed by Everstone. He threw a palm strike at the High Seraph.

The man looked over and simply smirked. “You’ve finally revealed yourself. I was waiting for you. You want to try to take the path of karma to reach Immortality? Impossible! You’re courting death.”

He immediately attacked Lu Yin.

The two palms collided, and Lu Yin spat out blood as he went flying.

Lu Yin had reached the biological limits of physical strength in the Tianyuan Megaverse, and yet the High Seraph’s palm was as powerful as Yong Heng had been when using his Natural Art or undergoing a Corpse King Transformation. It was an attack with absolute strength and power.

Lu Yin could not handle the attack directly.

At this moment, the High Seraph was equal to the Origin Progenitor or True God at their prime.

The Heavens Sect was trying to attack someone that powerful.

It was only at this moment that most people understood the extent of the Great Sovereign’s sacrifice. If not for her sealing True God with her Six Paths of Reincarnation Realm, True God would have possessed the strength to immobilize everyone.

The Great Sovereign had never gone to the Immemorial Citadel, yet her efforts to restrain True God had amounted to an equally monumental sacrifice.

The High Seraph advanced with Everstone, targeting Lu Yin. From nearby, Garan Zhiluo used her Eight-Star Garan to copy the High Seraph’s own palm and attack him.

The man just snorted contemptuously. The borrowed attack passed straight through him, leaving him completely unharmed.
