Star Odyssey-Chapter 3398: Mending
Chapter 3398: Mending
Zhao Ran put away the oar as Lu Yin immediately left the Mirari Realm and returned to the Heavens Sect.
The Heavens Sect was just as it had been in the past. Lu Yin should have rewinded time by thirty-seven years. As soon as Lu Yin emerged from the Mirari Realm, he was met by the image of Master Qing Cao, which Ancient God had shared with everyone who knew the Origin Progenitor’s Sutra. Sure enough, Lu Yin had arrived thirty-seven years in the past. He took a step forward and entered the Perennial World, hoping to reach Ancient God in time.
At this time, the same events as before were playing out in the Dominion Realm, just as they had originally.
Ancient God used all of his energy and vitality to throw a punch that surpassed his own limits. His legs, the rest of his bones, and all of his flesh was pulverized layer by layer. All that remained of his fist were bare bones as it neared Master Qing Cao.
As he finished reciting the Origin Sutra, Ancient God collapsed to the ground. He barely even maintained a humanoid shape. There was nothing about his features that were recognizable.
A short distance away, Nong Yi was observing the Middle Realm, enjoying his family’s peace in Seed Garden.
Master Qing Cao was standing with his hands behind his back. He neither struck Ancient God, nor even allowed True God to intervene. The events continued as the past dictated, though this time, it was because True God was not present.
Not only was True God missing, but so were Forgotten Ruins God and Wang Xiaoyu.
Only Master Qing Cao, Ancient God, Blackless God, and Skydog were present at the moment.
Blackless God felt terribly confused. Where had True God gone?
Skydog also looked around in puzzlement. True God should be nearby.
Ancient God’s consciousness slowly slipped away. He muttered something in a hoarse voice, but no one could hear what he said. His voice was too soft.
At the moment, he was immersed in his own memories. He had been prepared to die the moment he threw the punch.
Whatever he saw in his memories, it left a smile on Ancient God’s face.
Within all of his memories, death was but a fleeting moment.
Lu Yin emerged from the void with Inverse Step. He had torn through the void to arrive exactly where Ancient God had fallen. As soon as Lu Yin arrived, he saw Master Qing Cao and the others.
Blackless God was badly startled by Lu Yin’s arrival. How was that even possible? How had Lu Yin found them?
Master Qing Cao, however, was not at all surprised. “The Origin Progenitor’s disciples are truly remarkable. One was even able to ambush the ferryman or the River of Aeons, creating a branch in the river which offered you a chance to restart and choose again.”
Lu Yin stared at Master Qing Cao. “You’re an Immortal, so why were you affected by the temporal reversion?”
Master Qing Cao looked up and met Lu Yin’s eyes. “I wasn’t affected by the temporal reversion. I came here to sate my own curiosity. How did you break free of that seal?”
Lu Yin continued to stare at Master Qing Cao. “Even for an invincible Immortal, things can’t always go your way.”
Master Qing Cao nodded and let out a sigh. “That’s true enough. Things never go entirely as one wishes, regardless of whether or not they are invincible. Your mastery of karma should have made it impossible for you to break free from that seal, and there was no one in the Mirari Realm who could have helped you, aside from one.
“Ku Jie.
"That man’s talent is truly without equal. The fact that he was able to create Extremes Must Be Reversed is astonishing enough, even to me. He is able to create miracles from even trash.
"There are many who claim that Xia Shang was the most talented of that generation, but I believe that Ku Jie deserves that title."
Lu Yin’s eyes narrowed. Regardless of whether one considered Progenitor Chen or Progenitor Ku, both men possessed unrivaled talent. There should not have been two such individuals in the same era, and yet that was exactly what had happened.
One had shone brilliantly, illuminating the entire universe and silencing everyone with this combat ability.
The other had been almost completely silent, his true strength a mystery, even after he had become a Progenitor. Even so, he had possessed the courage to invade the Scourge on his own, just to secure a slim chance for humanity’s survival.
Two diametrically different lives had been lived during the same era. The men were destined to be compared to each other by future generations.
Who, during their era, could have truly understood them?
Suddenly, Lu Yin attacked, unleashing a spiral of karma. It was not aimed at Master Qing Cao, but rather at Ancient God.
Lu Yin knew that he was not Master Qing Cao’s match. Unlike the High Seraph, the Immortal did not allow for any chance for his opponents to fight back. Lu Yin had gone to the Dominion Realm because Master Qing Cao had not killed him in the Mirari Realm. That meant that he also would not kill Lu Yin in the Perennial World. Lu Yin’s goal was to give Ancient God additional karma.
Master Qing Cao could kill Ancient God, but the additional karma would be more trouble for the Immortal.
Master Qing Cao did not try to stop Lu Yin. “Last time, I also did not kill him. I don’t care if he lives or dies. However, Lu Yin, you avoided the temporal reversion by hiding out in the Mirari Realm. Will you be able to bear this karma?”
With that, the man simply vanished.
Lu Yin’s heart shook. Again, he was hearing the same warning. Wei Nu had made a similar comment, but Master Qing Cao had been much more direct.
Karma... karma! Suddenly, Lu Yin understood, and he realized how much trouble he was in, exactly as Wei Nu had predicted.
By hiding in the Mirari Realm, Lu Yin had avoided the temporal reversion, preserving the power and memories that he had gained over the course of these thirty-seven years. But those gains were the fruits that Lu Yin had only obtained from various battles and interrogations. Where was the cause of those results?
Karma was both cause and effect. If Lu Yin enjoyed the effects and results without experiencing the causes, then what would happen to him?
He immediately thought of Progenitor Ku. That man had attempted to reverse karma and had ultimately been suppressed by the karma of the entire Karma Sanctum. It was uncertain whether or not Progenitor Ku would ever be able to escape.
Furthermore, the Karma Sanctum was only one of the Mirari Realm’s forbidden regions.
Lu Yin had essentially reversed his karma all across the entire megaverse. If he suffered backlash from that karma, then all of Wei Nu and Master Qing Cao’s warnings would prove true. Lu Yin was doomed.
The only solution was to mend his karmic cause.
The problem was, Lu Yin had too many karmic ties that he needed to resolve. Lu Yin had mastered the Natural Art during his battle with Meng Sang and also learned the Dream Sutra because of the Seraph. From Palace Master Yao, he had learned about the Law of Absolute Reversal,Heavenspire, the Gate of Laws, and her Bifrost Unscathed Sword. His inner universe still held the Eightfold Nexus and the fully decomposed Rivers and Mountains Painting. In one of the Mirari Realm’s forbidden regions, Lu Yin had comprehended his Inner Clarity Technique. He had learned much about the Spirit Nidus from Tian Ci, as well as the existence of the springboards. That was also only a small portion of all that Lu Yin had gained along the previous branch of the River of Aeons.
He had harvested too many karmic fruits, and everything that Lu Yin had gained throughout these thirty-seven years needed a corresponding cause. Otherwise, he would undoubtedly suffer backlash from his karma.
Currently, because of the temporal reversion, the Rivers and Mountains Painting and the Eightfold Nexus both still existed, but they were in the Spirit Nidus. They also existed in Lu Yin’s inner universe. The Spirit Nidus held the cause, while Lu Yin’s inner universe carried the effect.
The cause was safe and secure in the Spirit Nidus. The problem was inside of Lu Yin. Having something that came about without a correlating cause could trigger a karmic backlash.
Everything raced through Lu Yin’s mind in an instant.
Blackless God and Skydog both tried to escape, but Lu Yin immediately took action, releasing his inner universe and enveloping the two. He threw a palm strike, and the terrifying power of the attack frightened Blackless God, and he immediately hid behind Skydog.
Skydog howled in agony as Lu Yin's palm sent him hurtling out of the Dominion Realm.
Nong Yi finally noticed the commotion, and he hurried over. However, the Progenitor was simply too weak, which left him helpless to do anything but simply watch.
Blackless God's eyes shimmered, and black lines filled the sky in an attempt to lock down Lu Yin.
However, Lu Yin's current strength meant that Blackless God had absolutely no chance of stopping something as powerful as the approaching palm strike.
Blackless God used three black lines to set up a prison that he tried to use to trap Lu Yin, only for the restraints to be easily broken.

With no other options, Blackless God resorted to using his consciousness and attempted to flee with his Endless Path.
Lu Yin's eyes focused tightly on the Skygod. Already, the star of consciousness in his inner universe contained the raw consciousnesses of both Whiteless God and Blackless God, but that was also the effect of karma. Without completing the karmic cause, Lu Yin would suffer a backlash from incomplete karma.
In the understanding of the Conscious Megaverse, Blackless God's consciousness had reached the Celestial level, which made him equal to an Ortuser. Lu Yin did not dare to use his own consciousness, as he was afraid of the karmic backlash. Instead, he raised a hand and brought out his die, tapping it to roll it.
The die slowly stopped spinning, immediately landing on six pips. Blackless God’s luck had run out.
Lu Yin used Possession with Megalith Poison, instantly Possessing Blackless God. This was what he had previously prepared as a gift for True God, but with True God absent, likely because he had avoided the time reversion, the gift had become unnecessary.
The moment that Blackless God was Possessed, Lu Yin charged toward his own body while simultaneously dealing a heavy blow to Blackless God.
Once the Skygod was within five meters of Lu Yin, Lu Yin’s consciousness returned to his own body. Blackless God spat out a mouthful of blood, stunned. What had just happened?
Lu Yin set his hand on Blackless God's head. "You want to escape? Do you think that you can even do so?"
It was at that moment that Lu Yuan arrived. The sight of Master Qing Cao's face had allowed Lu Yuan to guess what had happened, but he had not been able to locate where things were happening. Fortunately, the commotion of Lu Yin’s battle had drawn Lu Yuan’s attention.
"Ancestor, restrain him, but don’t kill him." Lu Yin quickly asked Lu Yuan to keep an eye on Blackless God.
Lu Yuan placed his hand on Blackless God's head, ensuring there would be no way for the captive Skygod to escape.
During this time, the slippery Skydog had taken advantage of Blackless God’s capture to escape.
It did not matter, as Lu Yin had the means of finding the dog again. Skydog would not be able to resist Stillstorm’s stone ball.
“Little Seven, what are you doing?” Lu Yuan asked as soon as he saw that Lu Yin was tearing the void and preparing to leave.
Ancient God was laying motionless on the ground nearby, and Lu Yuan did not have any idea what had just happened.
Lu Yin said, “I’ll explain as soon as I return! I just hope that I’m not too late.”
He needed to save Jiang Feng.
In the original timeline, they had spent a significant amount of time trying to find Ancient God. Only after that had they considered that Master Qing Cao would leave the megaverse, at which time they had gone to the stone gate. There, they had been just in time to witness the scene of Jiang Feng being crippled by Qing Cao and left in a numbed state. With Lu Yin retaining his memories of the original timeline and Qing Cao having also evaded the time reversion, Lu Yin wanted to do everything possible to save Jiang Feng.
This timeline might not unfold as Lu Yin wanted it to.
As he emerged from the void, Lu Yin saw Jiang Feng standing frozen in front of the stone gate, and Master Qing Cao further ahead.
Qing Cao turned back to look at Lu Yin. “Don’t worry, I won’t kill lightly. However, the karma that I left unresolved needs to be completed.”
With that, he stepped forward and vanished past the stone gate.
Lu Yin felt powerless. He had not made it in time, but even if he had, it would not have mattered. Who could stop an Immortal like Master Qing Cao? Mister Mu? The Origin Progenitor? Neither of them could.
Since Lu Yin understood that his karma was incomplete and that he needed to resolve it, Qing Cao obviously knew the same. Did that mean that not even Immortals were free of karma?
But even so, why was resolving karma with Jiang Feng so important to Qing Cao? What impact did harming Jiang Feng have on Qing Cao?
That was something that only Master Qing Cao could answer, but he would not show up again.
Silently, Lu Yin took Jiang Feng back to Whitecloud City, where he witnessed the same scenes from the original timeline replay.
Around this time, Whiteless God should be visiting the Five Spirits Alliance’s universes.
According to Lu Yin’s calculations, it was not yet time. Given the time that he had spent searching for Ancient God in the original timeline, Whiteless God still needed a bit more before she arrived in the Ice Spirit Tribe’s universe.
Lu Yin left Whitecloud City and discreetly traveled to the Ice Spirit Tribe’s universe. He glanced at Iceheart before hiding nearby and silently waiting.
Soon enough, Whiteless God arrived, appearing as a mere ripple.
"You are the consciousness that I want to disturb the least. You are too pure. Your world revolves around only him, and even I was affected by you.
"If not for your consciousness, I would have never saved him. Now, that has led to a catastrophe.
"However, there’s no longer any other choice. I need you again."
The ripple started to dissipate, and white mountains and sea suddenly appeared, and all of them rushed towards the Iceheart.
Far away, the Ice Lord abruptly spun around. The ice spirit had finally noticed that something was wrong.
Whiteless God completely ignored the Ice Lord.
However, it was at that moment that Lu Yin emerged from the void. He calmly stared at Whiteless God, startling her. “Why are you here?”
