Chapter 634: Hidden Mission Rewards

Alaric really wanted to ask him what realm he was in during his prime, but he decided not to. It might provoke this mysterious warrior so he chose to swallow the words he was about to say.

I wonder how strong he was during his prime. Could he be at the Divinity rank?

Just then, a series of notifications popped up in front of him, interrupting his stray thoughts.

Alaric was surprised.

What is going on? How did I complete this hidden mission?

He was only chatting with Bellator so he didn’t know how he triggered the mission rewards.

Is it because of the information I learned from Lord Bellator?

This was the most logical explanation.

This system is really profound. To think that there are still things that I haven’t discovered about it...

Bellator noticed the surprise in his eyes and thought that he was simply shocked by the revelation he heard.

"You possess the power of the Ancients so you need not be concerned. With enough time, you should be able to surpass those young prodigies." He consoled the young warrior.

Hearing this, Alaric nodded. However, his focus was on the changes in his character profile.

His realm was no longer labeled ’Mythical Knight’. It was changed to ’Unfettered’.

[Do you want to use the Random Trait Upgrade Card?]

Alaric selected [Yes].

[Your trait Monster Affinity (C) has been upgraded to Monster Affinity (B).]

Seeing this, Alaric was a bit disappointed, but he wasn’t too unhappy. Although it wasn’t a battle-related trait, Monster Affinity would come in handy especially when he had to deal with monsters.

With that, he closed the system screen.

He looked at Bellator who was quietly enjoying his wine and inquired. "Do you plan to follow this unworthy young prince, my lord?"

Bellator put down the cup with a frown. His eyes flashed with anger, but it quickly subsided.

"No..." He shook his head.

Alaric sighed, feeling disappointed. However, he understood Bellator’s decision.

If he were in the other’s shoes, he would also make the same choice.

Just as Alaric was about to say something, Bellator suddenly added.

"But I might have to stick with you since your power is suppressing me...

"However, if you display characteristics unworthy of following, then I will rather die than stick around with you." He snorted. This was a compromise he had made after careful thought.

Alaric’s eyes widened with joy upon hearing this. "I won’t disappoint you, Lord Bellator!"

Bellator pulled his gaze from him.

"You can’t order me around though." He warned.

"That wouldn’t be a problem, my lord."

Alaric didn’t mind this. It was already enough to have him around. Just his presence alone was reassuring.

Bellator clicked his tongue and leaned his back on the seat. "Tell me more about this place."

Since he had decided to follow Alaric, he might as well learn more about him.

"It would be an honor!" Alaric smiled, looking eager to tell him more.

"We are currently in Sorl, the capital of Veronica..."

A long conversation followed after that.

...

How should I introduce Lord Bellator to the family?

Alaric fell into a dilemma.

Bellator’s identity was special. Unlike other summons, his background was significant. Moreover, Bellator was also insanely powerful. One wrong move and they might unnecessarily provoke this terrifying warrior.

As if sensing his concerns, Bellator spoke. "You look like you have a lot weighing on your mind."

"You can tell me. I might be able to offer you some advice." He sent Alaric an encouraging look.

Alaric hesitated for a moment before he responded. "Actually... I don’t know how I would introduce you to my family, Lord Bellator."

He chose to be truthful. Lying wouldn’t do him any good in this situation.

Bellator snorted in displeasure, shaking his head. "So it’s just a small matter."

"Just tell them that I will be your mentor. It’s normal for a young knight like yourself to have a mentor." He suggested.

"Just like that?" Alaric stared at him dubiously.

Bellator frowned. "Just do as I say."

Alaric no longer argued with him. "I understand."

Am I the summon or is he the summon?

He felt helpless. Even Nivis wasn’t so hard to deal with.

Soon, they arrived at the mansion designated for House Silversword.

"Your Highness!" The warriors stationed at the entrance greeted him respectfully. They glanced at the middle-aged warrior next to him, but made no inquiries.

Alaric smiled and nodded at them to show courtesy.

"Where is the Lord Duke?" He asked.

"The Lord Duke is inside the mansion, Your Highness. Do you want this lowly servant to accompany Your Highness to see the Lord Duke?"

Alaric rejected the offer with a shake of his head. "That won’t be necessary."

After giving instructions to the warriors, he took Bellator inside the mansion to search for Lucas.

They soon found the duke in the main hall, chatting with the empress and the Commander of the Crimson Phoenix Knights Order.

"Lord Duke."

"Your Majesty."

"My lady."

He calmly greeted the three.

He didn’t expect to see the empress again today.

"Come here, son. Her Majesty has been looking for you. You can’t keep her waiting." Lucas beckoned to him, smiling.

The empress nodded at him.

"Before that, please allow me introduce this gentleman. He is Bellator Cruentos. He is my new swordsmanship mentor." Alaric squeezed out a smile.

Hearing this, the three people turned their attention to Bellator.
