Starting With SSS-rank: I Get A New Skill Every Livestream-Chapter 33: Failed
[Absolute Regeneration: Failed]
[Failed to heal the circuits]
[Multiple circuits remain damaged]
[Condition stabilized]
[Recovering...]
Kyle frowned as he examined his brother through God’s Eye.
Not all of Blake’s circuits had been repaired.
They were energized, yes. But only one had truly recovered. Three darkened knots still remained, stubborn and lifeless.
’System? What does this mean?’
[Host, the elixir you used was not designed to target arcane circuits alone. It also repairs injured aether veins. The potion prioritized stabilizing your brother’s critical condition before attempting circuit restoration. As a result, only partial repair occurred.]
Kyle clenched his jaw.
’But you said—... tch.’
He stopped himself. Arguing with the system would lead nowhere.
A rational part of him understood what had happened. Through God’s Eye, he had clearly seen the changes inside Blake’s body the moment the elixir entered his system. The recovery had been real.
But Kyle had expected complete healing.
’So what do I do now?’
[Host, the system can generate a quest that will reward you with another elixir.]
A new message followed.
[However, if the target remains in this state for more than one additional days, the damaged arcane circuits will continue deteriorating the flow of Genesis.]
[If that occurs, the target will return to condition zero.]
[The first elixir will be wasted.]
Kyle understood immediately.
He had to obtain another elixir quickly. Otherwise, everything he had done so far would be wasted, and Blake’s body would continue suffering through that unstable transition.
’Generate the quest. I’m going hunting now, System.’
[Generating quest...]
Just as Kyle was about to stand, he felt a tug on his sleeve.
He froze.
Blake was holding onto it.
His eyes were still closed.
Kyle bit his lower lip.
This idiot... already struggling through internal agony, yet somehow still reaching out to him.
He shook his head and muttered quietly, "You’re not allowed to die before seeing me surpass you, brother."
His voice hardened slightly.
"So just wait for me. I’ll save your ass this time."
With that, Kyle gently freed his sleeve and left the room.
Downstairs, he found only his mother.
As he approached, she stood up.
"Kyle... are you staying the night?" she asked softly. There was warmth in her voice now, perhaps regret for how she had treated him earlier.
But Kyle’s mind was elsewhere.
He shook his head. "I still have some work to finish. I’ll be leaving."
He considered warning her not to call any medics to examine Blake. If they did, they would surely notice the unnatural recovery.
But saying that would only raise suspicion.
Worse, it might push her to call a doctor out of concern.
So he stayed silent.
Some things were better left to unfold naturally.
He left the villa soon after.
Not long into his walk, the system finally generated the quest.
[Quest: Attain 500 SP]
[Reward: Red Elixir ×3]
[Time Limit: 12 Hours]
[God’s Eye analysis indicates that only two elixirs are required for your brother’s full recovery. However, the system has issued three as a precaution.]
Kyle hummed softly in appreciation.
At least the system had reduced the requirement by one hundred points.
Even so, he still had to earn five hundred SP within twelve hours.
[Host, with the current progression of God’s Eye and system assistance in regulating its output, you may now use the ability for approximately twenty nine minutes.]
Kyle exhaled slowly.
That was still his biggest obstacle.
Without God’s Eye, he would not even be able to detect the creatures necessary to farm those points.
As he walked along the street, he pulled out his phone.
He chewed lightly on his lower lip while thinking.
In the end, he decided to take the gamble.
It did not take long to find the number he received a call from a few hours ago.
Taking a deep breath, he dialed.
Ring
Ring
The call connected.
Click
{Didn’t know you’d start missing me this soon,} Veronica’s teasing voice flowed through the phone. {Want me to send you a picture or something~?}
Kyle almost sighed.
Who would have thought he would end up relying on the strange woman he had met only the night before?
Yet here he was.
"Veronica... I need your help." 𝐟𝗿𝐞𝚎𝚠𝐞𝚋𝕟𝐨𝚟𝐞𝕝.𝕔𝕠𝚖
{Hm?} Her tone shifted immediately, becoming sharper. {Tell me.}
Kyle paused briefly before asking, "Is there a way for me to find the same kind of creature I hunted two days ago? A Majin?"
Silence.
A long one.
Of course she would be shocked.
After all, he was not asking for restaurant recommendations.
He was asking for the location of something that belonged to Knull.
Kyle believed that if he wanted to use God’s Eye efficiently, hunting weak creatures was a waste of time. The small ones barely gave one or two Soul Points.
He needed something bigger.
Something riskier.
The system did not object, which meant it trusted his abilities enough to allow it.
After a few seconds of silence, Veronica finally spoke.
{I’ll send you a location. It’s an uninspected site, so be careful. I would have come myself, but I’m nowhere near Fortis right now.}
Kyle’s brows rose. "What? But we met like an hour ago."
{That’s my life, Kyle,} she replied lightly. {I can’t stay in one place for long. But if you have a day to spare, I can come back and we can hunt together.}
Kyle answered immediately. "I’m actually running short on time."
Besides, someone like Veronica, who seemed highly ranked in her organization, being seen hunting with an unregistered Nightwalker would probably cause trouble.
{Kyle... is this about your brother?}
He paused.
Of course she knew Blake.
According to the system, the sheer number of Arcane Circuits Blake possessed meant he was a powerful Genesis user.
"Do you know anything about what happened to him?" Kyle asked quietly. "Or who caused it?"
Veronica did not answer for a few seconds.
Then she muttered, {I would suggest you stay away from his mess.}
Kyle frowned, but before he could press further, she spoke again.
{I have to go now. I’ll send you the location. Just don’t make too much noise... and don’t get yourself hurt. Your master would be pretty angry, you know?}
Kyle snorted. "And who exactly is my master?"
{Why don’t you ask that when I’m around~}
Kyle shook his head and ended the call.
A moment later, a pinned location appeared on his screen.
It pointed to a half constructed building on the outskirts of Fortis.
Not too far.
Kyle slipped his phone back into his pocket and started moving.
’I hope this works.’
