Stolen By My Billionaire Brother-In-Law-Chapter 70: I Killed Someone
Rivana smiled in response. "And here I was worrying that you were ignoring me and dining with your sweet Marisa."
Azrael’s eyes gleamed with amusement at her comment. He leaned closer to her ear and whispered, "I realized there are better things to taste here."
Rivana blushed at his comment, her stomach fluttering as if filled with thousands of butterflies. Looking up at him, she asked softly, "Like?"
Azrael didn’t reply but smirked in response. Leaning closer, he cupped her cheek and captured her lips in a tender kiss.
The world seemed to fade away as Rivana kissed him back, her worries and fears dissolving in his tight embrace. Her hands wrapped around his neck and Azrael leaned forward, deepening the kiss. She felt him hold her waist firmly with one hand, his other hand reaching for her nape to align her perfectly. Azrael kissed her as though they had been separated for years, his actions conveying how much he had missed her though they had been away only for a day.
After a few moments, they broke the kiss, breathing deeply. Azrael touched his forehead touched hers, both relieving the moment.
Rivana smiled, the weight on her heart lifting at just seeing him. The anxiety that had been constricting her chest eased, allowing her to breathe more freely. She hugged him tightly again, feeling his warmth and strength. Azrael held her close, wrapping his hands securely around her waist, assuring he had come for real.
Breaking the hug, Azrael held her hand, "Come."
He took her to a small table arranged at the edge, giving them a beautiful view of the city and night sky. He pulled out the chair and helped her sit. Rivana smiled and watched him as he took a seat opposite her.
The waiters came in on cue, serving Rivana’s favorite dishes one by one as they settled in Rivana couldn’t take her eyes off Azrael, who was cutting the steak for her. She rested her chin on her palm and observed him, his every action a soothing balm to her. She had never felt this kind of feeling before. There hadn’t been anyone in her life whose presence was enough to wash away all her worries.
"Enjoying the view?" Azrael asked with a smile.
Rivana chuckled and replied, "Very much."
He shook his head, realizing she had gotten a little bold. He must have been having a bad influence on her.
He passed the plate and ordered, "Eat. I heard you haven’t touched anything since morning."
Rivana took the plate and dug into the food. It seemed like Leonora was behind all this, and she couldn’t thank her best friend for a better gift.
"So, is the problem solved?" Rivana started a conversation.
Azrael shook his head. "He will manage it alone," he replied, talking about Ezekiel. It also conveyed that he would be staying behind, lifting even more weight from her shoulders.
Rivana nodded, silently enjoying her food. Sensing she was getting lost in thought, Azrael brought up another topic, "You come here often?"
Rivana nodded with a smile. "The view here is great for a party, isn’t it?" She turned to the sky and continued, "It was also the first time where Nora and I met. She wanted to meet somewhere off-campus, and this place popped up in my head."
Azrael nodded, listening to her anecdotes. Rivana shared the memories she spent here, her excitement and laughter from time to time easing his worries. She needed to smile more and be happy, leaving all the problems for him to solve.
"And once, she got drunk and slept in that room," Rivana recalled the time from their first company party. Laughing out loud, she added, "We searched the entire place only for a cleaner to find her here in the morning."
Azrael smiled as she laughed out loud. He moved closer and wiped the crumbs off her lip with his thumb. Instead of wiping it with a tissue, he placed his thumb to his mouth and ate the piece. Rivana blushed at his actions, his amused smile making it even harder to look at him. *Damn, this man could seduce even in silence,* she thought, sipping her wine.
They finished the dinner, Rivana having had more than her stomach could handle. She had eaten more while talking to him.
"Ah, I don’t think I can move," she murmured, rubbing her belly.
Azrael smiled and replied, "You don’t need to when I am around."
He walked over to her chair and lifted her in his arms. He did it with so much ease since he had done it quite a few times. It was sweet and intimate, a gesture filled with love and care.
He took her bag and started walking toward the elevator. Rivana blushed as the waiters who had come to clean looked at them in shock.
"Put me down. There are people around here!" she grumbled, her cheeks warming slightly.
Azrael glanced at her and murmured, "So what? It’s not a crime to carry my wife."
Rivana gave up and accepted her defeat. She could never win against him, she thought, burying her head in his neck. She enjoyed this treatment very much.
She wanted to spend time with him like normal couples, away from the burden of handling companies, working overtime, and compromising even on weekends. By the time they reached the ground floor, she was already half asleep in his arms.
"So what?" Leonora’s loud voice woke her up. She realized they were already out of the hotel and in the parking lot.
Sensing them, Callum and Leonora turned to them. Rivana realized they must be fighting again and sighed inwardly.
Leonora smiled at her best friend and asked, "Did you have a good time, babe?"
Rivana nodded, looking at Azrael to drop her to the ground. He was reluctant but let her go when she pleaded with a pout.
She went to hug Leonora and murmured, "Thank you. You look tired. Rest well."
Leonora nodded with a smile. She looked at Callum and scowled. She had called him, sensing she couldn’t help Rivana easily, and had asked to demand Azrael’s return. It was hard to convince this rock head, and she hated him even more.
"Drop her off," Azrael ordered Callum.
"She can go alone," Callum replied nonchalantly.
Leonora agreed. "Yeah. I might just kill him on our way, so it’s better if I go alone," she murmured with a smile.
Hugging Rivana again, she bid them goodbye and drove away. Azrael walked Rivana to their car, while Callum took the driver job, driving them back to the mansion. Oh, he was hating his life even more!

Once they were back, Rivana finished taking a hot shower. The steam from the bathroom followed her as she stepped out, her skin glowing from the warmth. She wrapped herself in a plush towel and walked into the bedroom. Azrael was already on the bed, waiting for her with a book in his hand. He seemed to have taken a shower too and was dressed in his comfortable loungewear, looking relaxed and at ease.
Rivana chuckled softly and asked, "Are you planning to read it for me every night?"
Azrael smiled and opened his arms. Rivana left her slippers by the bed and crawled onto it. Settling beside him, she rested her head on his chest as he wrapped his hand around her shoulder, melting her in his warmth. The scent of his cologne mixed with the fresh scent of soap, creating a comforting aroma.
"Should we start?" Azrael asked, glancing down at her.
Rivana looked up at him, and after a few seconds, she asked, "Are you not gonna ask what happened earlier?"
In response, Azrael bent down and kissed her lips gently. Caressing her cheek, he replied, "Callum reported to me everything. You don’t need to talk about it if you don’t want to."
Rivana sighed in response. She wanted to talk to him! It had been buried in her heart for years, and there was no better person than him to pour it out. The weight of the secret had been suffocating her, and she needed to release it.
Azrael’s expression softened, and he held her closer, giving her the silent support she needed. Rivana felt a mix of fear and relief as she prepared to share her darkest secret with the one person she trusted the most. The warmth of his embrace gave her the courage to continue, knowing that he would stand by her no matter what.
After a few moments, she took a deep breath. Looking up at him, she murmured, "I killed someone."
