Stolen by the Beastly Lycan King-Chapter 26: Dissolve
Chapter 26: Dissolve
Lorelai jerked her hand away but failed to free herself––his tight grasp only hurt her wrist more and she grimaced in pain. His authoritative, dominating attitude was no joke but it only made him look like all those unsavory the rumors painted him.
An animal.
Tired of his insolent actions, the princess glared back at him with her piercing green eyes and parted her lips to finally give the man a stinging reply, but the king was no longer interested in continuing the same conversation.
A deep frown formed on his face as he slid his thumb over Lorelai's white, almost transparent skin, his gaze lingering briefly on the thin blue veins bulging from underneath it.
"Do you even eat? The more I look at you, the more it feels like you are about to dissolve under my touch."
He was right; in comparison to his large, tanned hand, her skinny wrist looked unrealistically small. With all the stress caused by his own arrival and the constant pressure from the queen's watchful eyes, Lorelai's appetite became even worse than before and it felt like her body was eating itself now.
She did not want to explain all that. Instead, she quickly moved her hand away once again and this time, Rhaegar easily let her go.
Then, however, he took out a black handkerchief from the inner pocket of his loose silk shirt and started wiping his hands.
'What in the world is he doing?' She thought to herself, 'We did all kinds of things together while being naked that night but now he finds me dirty? Is that even possible?'
Lorelai refused to believe it. He was treating her with absolutely no respect already and now, to add insult to injury, he was explicitly wiping his hands in front of her after a mere touch to her wrist.
She felt so hurt, that she wanted to finally finish this unfortunate encounter and run away, crying.
"Anyway..." Lorelai tried to distract herself again by returning to the more important topic. "If we agree on everything, can you promise me to keep the night we spent together a secret?"
The thought of Queen Althea and Duke Kalder knowing about her outrageous attempt at rebelling terrified her.
If they knew that she had been deflowered by the Lycan King right before her wedding, they would have locked her up somewhere far away and drugged and abused her to make her look like she had gone insane. It would have been easier that way. But she could not allow that.
While Lorelai was in such obvious emotional torment, Rhaegar found her misery amusing. Smiling slyly as he hid his handkerchief back, he finally answered, "Who knows..."
That ambiguous reply made the princess' heart skip a beat. Now, she had had enough.

"What is it that you want from me?! Do you need––" She was almost shouting and was prepared to raise her voice even more but had to stop as she was caught off-guard when the man trapped her chin between his thumb and index finger and commanded, "Keep it open."
The next moment, something hard but sweet touched her tongue and the king pressed her mouth clothed. The second that something was trapped inside her mouth, it started slowly melting and Lorelai recognized the taste right away. It was her favorite snack to eat as a child.
It was a piece of dried bread with sweet raisins in it.
But it was not the same snack she had tried before. It was sweet at first but then spread a somewhat sour, yet pleasant aftertaste the more it melted in her mouth, polishing it off with a lingering taste of cherry wine.
"How do you find it?"
Rhaegar's hand was still holding Lorelai's chin between his fingers. He slid his thumb over her wet lips and smiled.
"I was introduced to this interesting snack when I was fourteen years old. Someone... gave it to me when I needed it the most. Back then, it was the most delicious thing I have ever eaten in my entire life and yet, no matter how many people I have employed since then, no one could make something that would taste as good as it tasted ten years ago."
The princess' face turned beetroot red once more. She was so busy enjoying the incredible taste of the dried bread that she failed to pay attention to both the man's frivolous actions and his somewhat heartwarming words.
"I am not a big fan of sweets, you see," he continued, "but I figured you might be one. And since this particular snack is good for when you have a stomachache, especially with hot wine, you might remember me as someone who can offer it to you. In secret."
Then, he leaned closer and locked his amber eyes on her green orbs, "What is the verdict, Your Highness?"
At first, Lorelai found herself utterly confused and flustered.
His innocent explanation contradicted the way he acted and yet, that was precisely what made him do everything he wanted with her. He knew how to catch her off-guard with his unpredictable behavior and Lorelai fell into his meticulous traps each time.
Flushed and frustrated, the young woman swallowed the last remnants of that unbelievable taste and finally answered, "Can I... have some more?"
Rhaegar's lips curled into a somewhat satisfied smile. He pressed his thumb against Lorelai's lower lip and pushed it down, forcing her to open her mouth once again.
But he did not rush to feed her another piece of that delicious snack. First, he dipped it into his glass of red wine, letting it soak in the red liquid for several seconds, then glided his eyes over the princess' rosy lips, smiling once again.
"I guess this is your review," sliding that wet piece of dried bread between her lips, he pressed them closed again, then wiped the red traces of the wine with his thumb, and licked it with his own lips, "Enjoy."
