Strange Worlds-Chapter 429: Central Magic City
"How many magic warriors had reached rank 9 in Central Magic City?" Silas asked as they continued to walk over to Mayor Hall’s place.
Because of the formations, they had to walk to the mayor’s place. There were some type of magic that was banned such as the flying type of magic and also the space time magic. The formation would suppress them no matter who they were.
So if they wanted to fight against other magic warriors, they had to use relatively common magic such as elemental magic and so on.
These kinds of magics were guaranteed not to trigger the formations.
Just like when Aya and Silas dealt with those ghost masters outside.
"There are a few of them who have reached rank 9 but most of them are the ancestors of the big families in Central Magic City," the magic warrior answered their questions patiently.
Silas looked at the magic warrior’s attitude and could guess that Mayor Hall should not be hostile to them. Besides, with Mayor Hall’s ability, it was very easy for him to deal with rank 8 magic warriors. There was truly no need for him to act so much in front of them.
"The big families, huh..." Silas nodded.
The structure of Central Magic City was just like what Silas had expected from the beginning.
There was one mayor who oversaw the entire Central Magic City and then there were many other magic warriors families who settled in. The rest of the magic warriors who came here should have come from other areas. 𝒇𝓻𝓮𝓮𝙬𝙚𝒃𝒏𝓸𝙫𝒆𝙡.𝓬𝓸𝒎
The three cities area where they came from was not the only place where magic warriors came from.
There were also many other areas.
But Silas and Aya had never gone there since they didn’t have any business to go there. Those places didn’t really have any other advantages compared to the three cities and the mana concentration was also similar. Since they were already in the three cities’ area, there was truly no need for them to go there too.
As for how many places there were, Aya and Silas were not entirely sure.
And Central Magic City was the place where the strongest from each of these places came to gather together. They were here because of various chances that Central Magic City presented for them. One of them was naturally the increased mana concentration and various methods that were suitable for higher ranked magic warriors.
For example, magic spells, alchemy methods, refiner methods, more formations, and so on.
These things were far better than the inheritance of their families that they could possibly obtain in their original place.
Unfortunately, these things were by no means cheap.
They would have to work hard in Central Magic City to be able to obtain them and these people who sold them in Central Magic City naturally got a lot of benefits. For these people in Central Magic City, it was nothing much. After all, these things were not that easy to learn and so on. Besides, if they could get resources in exchange for their knowledge, why not?
In this way, Central Magic City continued to be prosperous and no other place could possibly compare to it.
"We’re here," the magic warrior said as he stopped in front of the large gate.
Mayor Hall’s mansion was really big, encompassing a few kilometers of area. This place was also separated from other places and there were large fences and gate blocking others from getting closer to the mayor’s mansion.
It was clear that not many people were allowed to get close.
"You’re not going to lead us inside?" Silas asked.
The magic warrior shook his head. "Only the people designated by Mayor Hall can enter. Other people are not allowed to get close no matter what."
He might be working for Mayor Hall, but the magic warrior knew his limitations very well. He would not try his luck to see whether Mayor Hall would forgive him if he were to make a mistake. Mayor Hall only ordered for Silas and Aya to enter, so he would stay outside.
"Alright."
Aya felt that Mayor Hall was really strict, but it might have something to do with the fact that there was faint ghost aura in the Mayor’s mansion. Because Aya had killed countless ghosts over the years, she was very sensitive to the ghost aura.
Even though there might be formation that was set up to block the ghost aura in this area, she could still sense it.
’Is Mayor Hall keeping ghosts?’
But from what the magic warrior said, Mayor Hall should have hated ghosts. So where did these ghost aura came from?
Aya was wondering as the two of them walked inside.
The moment they stepped into the hall, Silas paused for a moment. His eyes moved around the mansion, trying to find the source of the ghost aura that he detected. Compared to Aya, Silas’s sensitivity towards ghost aura was a bit lacking, but it was because of his shadow magic that he was somewhat sensitive to the dark element of these ghosts.
Thanks to this, he could still detect it if they were close enough.
"It seems that you two are very sharp and managed to detect the faint ghost aura in this mansion," a somewhat aged voice sounded from the stairs.
Aya and Silas both raised their heads and saw an old man walking down. He was wearing light robe with his hand on his back. Despite the fact that he looked old, his back was still straight and he walked down the stairs in an unhurried pace.
Aya’s pupil constricted the moment she saw the old man and she muttered, "No way."
If this is truly Mayor Hall, then his appearance is exactly the same as the mayor whom she met in her previous life. But based on the timeline... Mayor Hall should have passed away many years prior to her birth in her previous life.
So how did they have the same face?
