Chapter 431: Central Magic City (3)

"It might not seem that way, but I’m sure that you know that these ghost realms that appeared are nothing more than the branch of the real ghost realm," Mayor Hall said slowly.

Aya blinked her eyes and looked at Mayor Hall with some suspicion. She did know that, but how did Mayor Hall know that she knew about this?

After all, Aya had never mentioned this matter in front of anyone.

For many people, the ghost realms that appeared and existed so far were already very annoying and terrifying. They could not imagine that these things were actually just the branch of the real ghost realms. It was precisely because they were very powerful that it was hard to believe these ghost realms were nothing more than small branches. 𝒇𝓻𝓮𝓮𝙬𝙚𝒃𝒏𝓸𝙫𝒆𝙡.𝓬𝓸𝒎

The real ghost realm was a big place that not many people have access to.

Because if they were to enter the real ghost realm, they would die.

The real ghost realm is the place where the ghost king, who was at rank 3 resided. Those who dared to come close to the ghost king would have to suffer from the pressure that the ghost king emitted. Just being around the ghost king would be very stressful.

Silas arched his eyebrows when he heard this. He didn’t know anything about this and hearing Mayor Hall saying that Aya knew about this made him truly wonder how did this mayor know so much about Aya. They didn’t know anything about this mayor and Silas was sure that Aya had never seen this mayor before.

After all, they have almost never separated in the past five years aside from some of their private time.

He basically knew where Aya went and who she met during this period of time.

"Mayor Hall?" Aya asked quietly. "I don’t think I have ever discussed this matter with you."

"Even if you have never discussed this matter with me, I know that you know about it." Mayor Hall looked at Silas, who was watching quietly and said, "But I don’t think that you have told your partner about it."

Partner?

Aya really wanted to say that Silas is more of her teacher than a partner but thinking that he didn’t really teach her anything and it was she who taught him, the words stuck in Aya’s throat. She didn’t seem to be able to explain this matter to other people.

Mayor Hall waved his hand and the teapot moved on its own, pouring tea for both Aya and Silas.

Oh, there was also a different pot that was pouring tea for him.

Aya looked at the magic that Mayor Hall used and realized that it was a simple telekinesis type of magic.

Telekinesis?

Sensing the formation around, Aya realized that the restriction for magic seemed to be laxer within Mayor Hall’s place. Was he not worried that someone will use dangerous magic in his place to attack him?

But perhaps with his current rank, he was actually quite confident in his own strength.

Not many people could possibly defeat him.

"I want you to reach rank 9 as soon as possible... both of you," Mayor Hall said slowly. "Of course, in exchange, I’ll let you use my private library."

Aya pursed her lips.

She does want to reach rank 9 as soon as possible.

But if Mayor Hall were to give them a lot of convenience, when he asked them to do something, it wouldn’t be easy for them to reject even if they didn’t really want to do it. Because they were under a debt to Mayor Hall.

Aya didn’t come to Central Magic City and postponed her journey all these years also because she didn’t want to be put under other people’s mercy. When she reached rank 8, not many people would be able to put her under coercion or anything like that.

Whatever she wanted to do, she could do it easily.

At least, she was not bound by any ties or something like that.

"You don’t have to worry about me asking hard to fulfill request." Mayor Hall sipped the tea calmly. "What I want is only one thing and it coincides with your thoughts. Besides, I’ll not provide you with resources and you have to work on your own. All I give to you is more knowledge about your side profession as I believe that you can’t obtain it easily."

"Knowledge is also a type of resource," Aya said slowly. "And why do you think you know what I want to do?"

If there was anything that Aya wanted to do the most, it was to kill that ghost king so that it would not continue to stay in this world and cause more ghost realms to appear.

Destroying the ghost realms all these years was more about treating the symptoms rather than treating the cause.

But it was simply impossible for Aya to go straight to the ghost king and deal with it.

She needed time.

Time to grow stronger and recover her strength.

And after she had reached the familiar rank 8, what she needed was enough resources and knowledge to advance to rank 9. Because advancing from rank 8 to rank 9 was not that easy and there were many things that she had to pay attention to.

If Aya was not careful enough, she might not be able to survive.

Mayor Hall looked at the two people in front of him and sighed deeply. He put down the teacup in his hand and he said slowly, "I want you to deal with the ghost king. Whether you want to seal it off or kill it, it’s up to you."

Even if she wanted to destroy the entire secret realm to bury it together with the ghost king, Mayor Hall would support her with both hands and cheer from the back.

Both Aya and Silas were silent when they heard this request.

This...

It does seem to coincide with their goals.

But...
