Stranger Danger-Chapter 1191: Life Or Death Is Not Predetermined
Chapter 1191: Life Or Death Is Not Predetermined
“Hahaha... I wouldn’t be so sure about that.”
Zhao Changming continued to laugh. “I’m well aware of your strength. I am sure that it will only take you between ten days to half a month to wipe me out completely.”
“However, you will carry the aura of my Undying True Blood during this period. Any and all warriors would be able to detect it. No matter where you go, they will know that it is you, the bearer of the Earthly Sovereign Bell, who killed me.”
“Do you understand now? You are a criminal of the jade ring, and all under the heavens will come after you for your treasure. Do you still think you can survive now?”
“So, your plan is to resurrect after I’m dead?” Ye Qing asked.
“Duh! Once you’re dead, I will be reborn through your body!”
Zhao Changming declared proudly, “This is my victory no matter how you look at it!”
Ye Qing said coldly, “Was this your backup plan?”
“Hahaha! That’s right!” admitted Zhao Changming with a laugh.
Of course, he was the only one who knew how fake his laugh was.
Yes, this was his backup plan, but he had not prepared it thinking that he would be annihilated down to the atoms.
Earlier, when he realized that he might not be a match for Ye Qing, he had immediately injected the wisp of Undying True Blood into Blue Demon. His original intention was very simple. If the battle ended in his defeat, then he would escape using Blue Demon. Once the coast was clear, he would resurrect himself through the Undying True Blood.
In his imagination, Ye Qing would be exhausted even if he wasn’t severely injured after the battle. He did not believe that Ye Qing would have the power to stop Blue Demon from escaping, so there was no need to worry about his safety. He would seek Ye Qing out for revenge after he was reborn.
In his imagination, his plan was perfect, but man plans, and gods laugh. Not in his wildest dreams did he imagine that Blue Demon would turn on him as soon as he was dead. To say that he was bewildered and flabbergasted would be an understatement.
Since he was backstabbed, he could only make do with what he had. There was no way he could escape from Ye Qing in his state, and while the young man hadn’t discovered his presence yet, it was only a matter of time before he did. So, he decided to take a gamble and slip into Ye Qing while he was unguarded.
Why was this a gamble? Because it was do or die. If Ye Qing managed to live the next half a month, then his Undying True Blood would be ground into dust, and he would die.
Even if Ye Qing perished, he had only earned himself a slim shot at victory. As reality kept telling him again and again, no one could predict what might happen in the future.
And of course, the Earthly Sovereign Bell would have nada to do with him in either case.
Ultimately, this was a do-or-die gamble where the ending was impossible to predict. It was also a gamble where no one was the victor.
He didn’t have a choice though. This was the hand he was dealt, so he could only pray to the heavens and go all in.
“You seem very proud of yourself,” Ye Qing said after a moment of silence.
“Shouldn’t I?” Zhao Changming asked before guffawing once more. “I feel so proud I’m gonna laugh to my heart’s content! Hahahahahaha!”
“Well, can’t say I disagree. You should laugh while you still can.”
Ye Qing let out a long sigh, but there was no worry on his face.
“What do you mean?” Zhao Changming looked confused.
“Nothing. I’m just saying that you should appreciate what is probably your last laugh,” Ye Qing replied indifferently.
“What, you think you’re going to survive this?”
Zhao Changming taunted, “Quit dreaming. Many people have witnessed today’s battle, and it won’t be long before the entire jianghu learns about this. Soon, the hyenas and true predators will swarm you from every direction, and they will drown you with their spit alone.”

“I don’t know about that. If they are all small fries like you, then I’m going to live no matter how many come after me,” Ye Qing said indifferently.
“The arrogance! The audacity!”
As if his reverse scale was poked, Zhao Changming flew into a rage, “Not a piece of you will be left behind when all is said and done!”
“You’re dead, you hear me! You’re dead! You’re dead!”
“Shut up.”
Ye Qing grunted, and a bronze bell emitting rays of profound light appeared right on top of Zhao Changming.
“The Earthly Sovereign Bell?” Zhao Changming screamed and struggled with all his might, but it was useless. The Strange Artifact easily sucked him into its belly.
After Zhao Changming was suppressed, Ye Qing spent a few seconds probing Zhao Changming’s Undying True Blood and was disappointed to find that its presence was as clear as ever. Not even the Earthly Sovereign Bell could isolate its presence.
To give an example, Zhao Changming’s Undying True Blood was about as conspicuous as a torch in the darkest night. It was so obvious that even the weakest warrior would be able to detect it. Those possessing a strong mind and great vigor in particular would be able to detect it even from tens of kilometers away, and there was absolutely nothing he could do to ditch or conceal this “torch”.
“What a pain!”
Ye Qing rubbed his forehead in annoyance. He had to admit that Zhao Changming’s last resort had caught him off guard. It was also a wrench in all of his plans.
Before this, he was planning to give Yi Pin and himself a new look before leaving Wei. He was confident that no one would be able to track them down. The Annon Sutra prevented anyone from divining his location, and Yi Pin was a master diviner who could shield himself from such detection methods as well. Therefore, all they needed to do was to don a disguise and keep a low profile to escape undetected.
Assuming they were successful, no one would be able to find him even if everyone and their mothers had learned about the Myriad Buddha Town incident and the Earthly Sovereign Bell. The world was huge, and the people living in it were innumerable. It would take multiple miracles for anyone to locate him.
However, Zhao Changming had utterly screwed over that plan. So long as Zhao Changming’s Undying True Blood remained intact, the jianghu people would come to him like moths to flame no matter where he went; no matter how well he hid himself.
Seriously, Zhao Changming’s last resort had screwed him over hard.
Of course, Ye Qing couldn’t blame anyone except himself. Still, it was a Disaster-class Strange Artifact, for heavens’ sake. Who could possibly resist such a temptation?
Ye Qing let out a self-derisive chuckle before looking up and scanning his surroundings for a bit. Then, he let out a cold hmph.
As if on cue, the dozen or so warriors hiding in the shadows suddenly went insane and began killing each other.
These people were none other than Zhao Changming’s guest warriors.
Contrary to the bloody scene, Ye Qing’s eyes were cold and indifferent. They were all people who dreamed of playing the fisherman while the clam and the sandpiper were fighting. Too bad for them, not everyone had the ability to play the fisherman!
It wasn’t long before only one attacker was left. However, the survivor suddenly started laughing uncontrollably while his body swelled bigger and bigger. Finally, he exploded and spilled blood and gore everywhere.
“Who else desires the Earthly Sovereign Bell?”
The blood did not fall on the ground, however. Instead, they gathered into a ball and landed on Ye Qing’s palm. A diabolical smile spread across his face as he held it.
At that moment, all survivors in Myriad Buddha Town felt chilled to their core. The terror had enveloped them so suddenly and absolutely it was like someone had dumped a bucket of ice water over their heads. No one dared to move a muscle, and cold sweat rolled down their foreheads like a waterfall.
A breath that felt like five years passed. When everyone thought that they were going to die, the suffocating presence was finally gone.
It wasn’t until they regained their senses that they realized that Ye Qing, the man who had exuded a presence like a supreme being, was nowhere to be found.
The group exchanged a glance with each other, but no one made a move. No one tried to give chase or even leave the town.
For once, cowardice and self-awareness won against greed.
Right now, no one could recall that godlike figure without shivering like a leaf. What Earthly Sovereign Bell? What once-in-a-lifetime opportunity? To hell with that! The only thing they wanted to do now was to get as far away from that man as possible.
No one dared to move though. What if they died a senseless, horrible death like those men that youngster had killed earlier?
For a time, everyone in Myriad Buddha Town was frozen like a statue. No one dared to move a muscle even when they were completely covered in snow!
