Stranger Danger-Chapter 1805: Mountain Beyond Mountain
The Nether Abyss Demonic Water flooded his meridians and spilled cold qi as soon as it entered his body. Wherever it went, his flesh and blood froze, and his qi slowed dramatically. He felt as if the Nether Abyss Demonic Water would encase him in ice.
A deep frown appeared on Ye Qing’s expression. He did not dare to grow careless at all. The Profound Yellow Mother Qi around him stirred and began its work. It began melting away the cold like the sun and refine the water’s demonic nature like a furnace.
Inside his body, Profound Yellow Mother Qi and Nether Abyss Demonic Water clashed like ice and fire. Steam rose out of his pores, and ice spread here and there. His veins throbbed somewhat painfully and threatened to rip apart at times.
Time passed slowly. It was perfectly quiet and peaceful in the Phoenix Restaurant. Only Ye Qing continued to be surrounded by flickering and mixing dark yellow qi and obsidian light. They looked very rhythmic.
Feng Qingyou and White Robe Demon Master sat quietly at the side and guarded him in silence. Their eyes were calm but glowing with a hint of worry.
An indefinite amount of time later, Ye Qing gradually opened his eyes, and a powerful light flashed in his eyes. Then he slowly opened his palm and revealed the water droplet. Before, the Nether Abyss Demonic Water was pure black in color. Now, it was less black than before. Specifically, a hint of faint dark yellow color had entered its structure. It vaguely responded to his dark yellow qi.
Ye Qing let out a long, murky breath and felt a tad easier.
As expected of an evil suppressing spiritual treasure, the Nether Abyss Demonic Water contained a terrifying amount of power. Even at his current level, it had taken him some effort to refine it completely. He did not dare to grow careless throughout the process either.
Still, he had succeeded, so all was well.
“How was it?” Feng Qingyou asked coolly.
“It was a success.” Ye Qing gave her a smile and a nod before sweeping his gaze across the two Sages. His expression slowly turned serious as he declared, “Now that all four evil suppressing spiritual treasures have been gathered... it is time we slay the Four Evils!”
The atmosphere in the Phoenix Restaurant abruptly tensed up. Even the air felt a tad heavier than before.
“Which evil do you plan to tackle first?” Feng Qingyou asked.
Ye Qing pondered the question for a moment before answering, “The Undying Nether Phoenix.”
“The Undying Nether Phoenix?” White Robe Demon Master looked a bit astonished. “Why the Undying Nether Phoenix?”
Ye Qing explained, “One, we are currently in the Southern Sea, and the Mountain Beyond Mountain where the Undying Nether Phoenix is sealed happens to be located in the Southern Sea region. Since we’re already here, we might as well tackle it first.”
“Two, the Undying nether Phoenix was the strongest evil of the four. The longer we drag this out, the more power it would recover, and the harder it would become to handle. Therefore, we should kill it first.”
Feng Qingyou dipped her head slightly to show that she approved of Ye Qing’s plan. “Let’s contact the Chief Libationist, Old Heavenly Master and the others then.”
“But of course,” Ye Qing said with a nod.
Ye Qing immediately produced a jade communication talisman and informed the relevant people regarding the plan to slay the Four Evils.
They quickly received responses of acknowledgement and approval from everyone. They all declared that they would set out for the Southern Sea immediately.
Ye Qing felt much easier knowing that he had the Chief Libationist, Old Heavenly Master, and more Sages’ support.
He sucked in a deep breath and rose to his feet. His eyes were filled with determination and resolve.
“The sooner we get this over with, the better. Let’s set out for the Mountain Beyond Mountain right now!”
And so the trio flew out of the Phoenix Restaurant and headed toward the direction of the Mountain Beyond Mountain.

The Southern Sea was vast and boundless. The sky and the sea shared one color, and the waves looked like they were scratching the sky.
The trio were currently running along the blue waves. The wind was howling, and the waves were battering dully against their protective qi.
Unfortunately, they could only find water and more water wherever they looked. One could even delude themselves into thinking that the entire world was composed of azure blue.
“This Mountain Beyond Mountain sure is difficult to find.”
Standing on the edge of a wave, White Robe Demon Master scanned his surroundings while saying with a hint of helplessness in his voice, “It’s been several days since we started searching for it, and yet all we’ve found are a couple of uninhabited islands. We’ve found nothing even resembling a mountain.”
“The Mountain Beyond Mountain is an ephemeral location to begin with. Of course it won’t be easy to find,” Feng Qingyou said coolly and calmly. “Just be patient. We’ll find it eventually.”
Ye Qing didn’t say anything. He simply channeled the Earthly Sovereign Bell. Ever since they entered the inner regions of the Southern Sea, the Earthly Sovereign Bell had been chiming quietly as if providing guidance.
That was why he was confident that they would find the Mountain Beyond Mountain eventually. All they needed to do was to follow its guidance.
Another day passed, and a mountain abruptly appeared at the distant horizon.
The mountain was tall and lofty. Its peak was fully submerged in the clouds, and its body was pitch black in color. It was also completely barren. Not a speck of green could be found anywhere.
Even stranger, the mountain was hanging upside down on the sea surface. Its base was facing toward the sky, and its tip was facing toward the sea. It looked as if it had been flipped upside down by some sort of awesome power. It was as strange as it was unbelievable.
“A hanging mountain!” White Robe Demon Master exclaimed in shock and disbelief, “Is this it? Have we arrived at the Mountain Beyond Mountain?”
Ye Qing stared at the hanging mountain as light flashed in his eyes. The chimes of the Earthly Sovereign Bell grew stronger, and it was pointed straight at the hanging mountain.
Clearly, they had found what they were looking for.
“Let’s go,” Ye Qing declared before taking the lead.
The trio moved like lightning. It wasn’t long before they arrived at the foot of the mountain.
Up close, the mountain looked even bigger and taller than it already was. Its surface was steep like it was cut by an axe or a blade. It looked jagged, rugged, and weathered. It gave off an air of antiqueness and desolation.
The mountaintop was covered in thick clouds and fog. It looked quite mysterious.
“What a strange mountain.” White Robe Demon Master clicked his tongue in amazement as he stared at the hanging mountain.
“Let’s ascend it.”
Ye Qing sucked in a deep breath and gathered his concentration. Then, he leaped into the air and dashed toward the peak of the mountain.
Feng Qingyou and White Robe Demon Master followed right behind him. The trio ran all the way up to the clouds like three beams of light.
The mountain was steep, jagged, and rugged. The higher one climbed, the bigger the pressure. However, this bit of pressure was nothing to the trio as a matter of course.
The trio climbed swiftly and rapidly. It wasn’t long before they reached the top of the mountain.
The top of the mountain turned out to be as vast as it was empty. There was only a lone stele standing at the center. Large, tall, and bluish gray in color, the stele looked incredibly old and weathered. Looking at it, one could almost feel the weight of time it was carrying.
Three ancient scripts that looked like dancing dragons and phoenixes were etched onto the stele: “Mountain Beyond Mountain”.
“Mountain Beyond Mountain! This is it!” White Robe Demon Master exclaimed in excitement as he stared at the scripts, “We’ve found the Mountain Beyond Mountain!”
Feng Qingyou walked up to the stele and gently brushed a finger across its surface. Her cool eyes glinted with unknown meaning as she felt its icy cool material.
Ye Qing also walked up to the stele and examined it closely.
The stele looked ordinary but really gave off a grand and ancient aura. It contained an indescribable and intimidating amount of power.
Ye Qing could sense the Earthly Sovereign’s aura inside the stele. It was resonating with the Earthly Sovereign Bell inside his body.
