STRIKER: Independent Beast Tamer-Chapter 41: Killing Grey Spider

Jeremy arrived in front of the ruined residential building. He marked this place last night. Now, it’s daytime. He is confident about checking out this place.

He takes out the black katana and walks into the building. There was no entrance door. The living area is filled with debris. He started checking the place.

After seeing that nothing was hidden here, he walks up to the other rooms to check. Just as he approaches the broken door to open it, a sense of crisis hits him.

Boom!

In the next second, he leaps backward without thinking. The door was smashed open by silk threads. Jeremy’s pupils shrink.

An adult human-sized grey spider with dark pupils comes out of the room. It begins spitting spider webs at human prey.

"Tier-2 Corrupted Beast: Spider," Jeremy thinks.

He then swings the katana to cut down the silky spider webs.

When the katana blade touches the spider thread, he feels hard resistance. It would take a few more swings to cut the thread. If it were average beast tamers, the silk threads would have already pierced them.

Jeremy decisively retreats, luring the spider beast to the street. The grey spider didn’t expect the human to block the silk threads. It charges forward to attack.

While doing that, it steps out of the building and continues charging toward the human prey.

One by one, Jeremy cuts the spider webs. The grey spider senses the threat and decides to retreat into the safe house. But how could Jeremy let that happen?

He has lured it outside to kill the beast, not play with it, so he rushes forward to attack.

The katana blade flicks downward with fast speed. Two of the spider’s legs are sliced in half in one move.

Pfff!

Blood splatters on the ground. The grey spider lets out a sound of pain. Its speed has slowed down. Out of fear, it tries to get back into the building.

Jeremy raises his eyebrows in surprise. Rarely do Tier-2 Corrupted Beasts think and retreat. Most of them are bloodthirsty.

If the grey spider is allowed to escape, it won’t come back.

Jeremy swiftly strikes the beast’s body. When the blade touches the body, he steps forward to thrust. The blade goes deep inside, stabbing the internal organs.

The grey spider makes another sound before stopping movement altogether. Jeremy doesn’t want to take a chance, so he decides to cut off the head directly.

Cut!

He brings the katana blade downward, separating the head from the body precisely.

Jeremy then collects the decapitated head into the storage ring before moving away from the spot.

Shortly afterward,

He arrives at the drainage entrance. He removes the entrance cover before stepping downward. Yesterday, he fought and killed the Dark Ground Snake.

He suspects there is more than one beast in the tunnel. After touching the ground, he starts observing the surroundings.

He had left the red rat beast’s remains here, but right now there is not even a sign of them left. Jeremy’s eyes narrow. He hopes that these Corrupted Beasts will come out of their hideout to attack him.

Meanwhile,

The Department Instructors are watching their students’ movements. Among them, Jacob’s eyes never leave Jeremy Night’s activities.

He gives approval when he sees Jeremy luring out the Corrupted Spider Beast and managing to kill it. It was one of the spots he marked yesterday.

Not everyone in the first year has this courage, so he is impressed with Jeremy’s performance so far. But when he sees him going to the underground tunnel again, his eyes flash with confusion.

"Do any beasts live there?" he thinks.

Seeing Jeremy going to the same place again, he thinks there must be a possible corrupted beast hideout inside.

A realization dawns on him.

"I hope he kills more beasts," he mutters.

The Department Instructors continue to keep an eye on Jeremy Night as well. Witnessing him hunt down the Tier-2 Grey Spider, everyone comes to the conclusion that Jeremy Night has real skills.

Inside the underground tunnel, Jeremy finally hears some movement. This time, he covers the katana blade with starlight beforehand.

A long Dark Ground Snake makes an appearance. Looking at the size of the beast, Jeremy thinks it’s a Tier-2 Beast again.

Compared to nighttime, the tunnel is illuminated with daylight. He moves freely around here to fight against the beast.

Then he cuts off the snake’s head to place it inside the storage ring. The whole fighting process goes smoothly. It’s all because Jeremy had prior knowledge of common corrupted beasts and their weaknesses.

He feels thankful that he was serious in his school studies. Otherwise, he would have wasted more time to kill the beast. The starlight energy plays an important role as well.

He is fortunate to have such a mysterious unknown egg as his lifeline beast. The starlight energy is compatible with his blade style. As long as he breaks through in the future, he thinks the power of starlight energy will increase as well.
