Chapter 615: Part 2: Reaching out

Wilderness

The massive hybrid tiger beast pounced on the scorpion. Although the tiger beast was slightly smaller than the scorpion, its power was immense.

Boom!

The claws of the beast struck the pincers. Sharp claws tore through the defense, cracking the hard scales.

Puchak!

The next second, blood seeped from the wounds, painting the ground.

The massive scorpion beast retreated. Its movement alone caused a huge shockwave across the ground, uprooting larger trees and dense vegetation. This happened in the blink of an eye.

The two beasts were Tier-6. Their fight could devastate the surrounding area.

The rest of the beast tamers continued to retreat; otherwise, they would be affected by the shockwaves as well.

Jeremy Night retreated along with the others. He was also using his eye ability. He didn’t know whether there was more than one Tier-6 beast behind the attack.

The beast had killed a couple of beast tamers within a few seconds. If Captain Colt Hardin hadn’t reacted faster, the casualties would have been higher.

Jeremy Night’s sight reached far into the distance, but all he could see was dense forest cover.

However, the size of a Tier-6 beast was massive; one could spot them from far away. He didn’t see any other beasts in the surroundings, which gave him some assurance.

He relaxed and continued to watch the battle between the Tier-6 beasts.

Time went by.

Captain Colt Hardin was able to push back the Tier-6 Scorpion. His hybrid tiger lifeline beast was agile and able to avoid the deadly stinger.

He worried that even a small scratch could cause problems, but his lifeline beast was fast enough to avoid the attacks.

Both pincers of the Tier-6 Dark Green Scorpion were cracked by the sharp claws. It was injured.

The beast only had its deadly stinger left. If the stinger were injured, the beast would be defenseless.

Roar!

The hybrid tiger targeted the curved tail. The sharp claws were about to strike, but the scorpion beast was able to avoid the attack. In the blink of an eye, the Tier-6 beast retreated into the dense forest.

Time passed.

The two City Governors and the Tier-8 Beast Tamers, followed by a team of higher-tier beast tamers, reached the location. They witnessed the confrontation between the two Tier-6 corrupted beasts.

The two City Governors were middle-aged and were Tier-8 Beast Tamers. One of them immediately disappeared from the spot and reappeared above the Tier-6 Dark Green Scorpion.

The next second, the City Governor released a powerful coercion. The force struck the body of the Tier-6 Dark Green Scorpion.

Puchak!

The massive scorpion, over six meters in size, was blown to pieces. Blood splattered across the ground.

After killing the beast, the City Governor returned to his previous spot.

Only then were the rest of them able to collect their thoughts. Captain Colt Hardin recalled his hybrid tiger back into his mental zone.

He appeared before the City Governors to greet them. Colt was relaxed; he had worried that help would be late and didn’t expect them to arrive so quickly. Now, they could be at ease. They were saved.

Then he looked behind the two City Governors. There was a stream of beast tamers arriving at the spot, including the team that had gone to ask for help.

"There is no need to waste time. Everyone, follow us back to the city," one of the City Governors said.

Hearing that, Captain Colt recovered his thoughts. He then appeared in front of the rest of the team.

His gaze scanned the area before finding the aircrew members. He saw the mutilated corpses as well; not a single one was intact.

He felt sadness, but he had to make a practical decision. He turned towards the crew members and told them to gather the survivors.

The City F Beast Tamers monitored the surroundings. Seeing that there was no immediate threat, they wanted to leave right away.

On the other hand, Jeremy Night sheathed his blade. His tense nerves eased. Seeing the appearance of so many experts, he believed they were close to the nearest city.

A few minutes later, everyone started following the City F Beast Tamers on foot. Not everyone had flying-type corrupted beasts.

The City Governors saw a massive open space not far from their current spot. They decided to use flying vehicles to bring the beast tamers back to the city.

They knew it was a flight en route to the 5th Zone. Many of the passengers had backgrounds in the 5th Zone, which was more powerful than the 7th Zone. They didn’t want to anger anyone.

They guided the beast tamers to the massive open land. From there, they sent a few teams back to the city to bring drivers.

They needed 15 vehicles in total. Each could carry four passengers. Only a few of the flight passengers remained; most had already gone to the city.

Only veteran beast tamers had come back to assist, and they had suffered casualties as well.

The group relaxed on the massive open ground.

Higher-tier beast tamers were around them, so they didn’t have to worry about their safety. Jeremy sat on one of the stones.

He was the only Tier-2 beast tamer among them, so he attracted special attention. Even the beast tamers from City F looked at him in surprise. Even the two City Governors took a look before turning away.

They knew only a person with status could go to the 5th Zone with mere Tier-2 strength, so they weren’t surprised.

On the other hand, Jeremy Night stayed calm. He could see that the beast tamers were looking at him; he was the oddball here.

He wanted to reach the 5th Zone as soon as possible. He didn’t know what else was hiding in this wilderness.

Not only him, there are other Beast Tamers who were still wary of their surroundings. They were observing the place despite the presence of the City Governors.

The Tier-6 Beast attack earlier given them a huge shock.
