STRIKER: Independent Beast Tamer-Chapter 671: Part 2: Starlight thread
5th Zone, City A
Wilderness
Jeremy observed the starlight thread again. The power was not diminished yet. It has opened new possibilities for him now.
He could fight longer against the corrupted beasts. Not only could he use a katana blade and a handgun, but he could also use the thread to trap and kill.
If he could control more threads, then he would be able to kill a whole group. After becoming a Tier-3 Beast Tamer, his confidence rose.
Now, he has come up with a new killing method. His mood brightened because of it. Next, he saw that the sky was darkening, so he decided to leave.
He had already wasted too much time waiting for the corrupted beasts to appear, but no other higher-tier corrupted beasts had appeared so far.
He wanted to test the power of the starlight thread against Tier-6 Corrupted Beasts earlier. 𝗳𝗿𝐞𝕖𝘄𝗲𝕓𝗻𝚘𝚟𝕖𝐥.𝚌𝕠𝕞
Unfortunately, he didn’t come across one.
There was also something special about the purple-dotted veins in his body. There must be some ability behind it. He had yet to uncover it.
Swoosh!
The next second, he decisively left the place. So far, the first trip to the wilderness was worth it. Not only had he killed a few Skull Gang Members, but he was able to break through as well.
As time went by, he didn’t face much trouble. He reached the border in a few hours. From there, the distance was a couple of hundred meters.
Twenty minutes later, he arrived back at the main city gate. The time was already close to midnight.
The city guards didn’t raise their eyebrows this time because he was a Tier-3 Beast Tamer now. They didn’t do a strict investigation; they allowed everyone to enter the city.
Jeremy Night went to the cab service area. He approached one of the cab drivers. After speaking to him, he entered the car.
The middle-aged cab driver sat in his seat. He turned on the engine and started driving. The car rose above the ground.
Swoosh!
Then, it started moving towards the destination.
Jeremy Night was watching the night view of the city through the window. When he turned around, his gaze fell on the front view of the camera.
He noticed something wrong. The driver did not look well. The middle-aged driver’s forehead was covered in fine beads of sweat.
Jeremy frowned, but he didn’t bother to ask. He turned towards the window and continued to observe the night view. The high-rise buildings were lit up, giving off a daytime vibe in the night.
At the same time, the middle-aged driver looked at the rearview mirror. He saw that the customer was not paying attention.
Swoosh!
He quickly changed direction. From the main lane, the car entered a narrow lane.
The middle-aged man continued to drive the car, his eyes gleaming with a twinkle.
The driver was not going to take the customer to the destination because he was ordered by the members of the Skull Gang to take the member of the Red Moon Chamber to their hideout.
Not only was he given orders like that, but the other drivers were intimidated with the same orders as well.
Quite a few Red Moon Chamber members were already killed. The person in the back seat was going to be next.
A few minutes later, the cab driver took a few turns before stopping in front of a big garage. Without saying anything, the cab driver stepped outside. He then ran without turning back.
Jeremy Night saw the actions of the cab driver. Seeing the cab driver flee, he knew something was wrong.
He began to look around and survey the place. He noticed the name board of the old garage. His senses alerted him to danger again.
This time, the danger level was high.
Boom!
He opened the door and darted toward the ground. The car shot up into the sky the next moment. A pitch-black, one-meter-sized stinger could be seen protruding from the ground’s surface.
Jeremy retreated further backward to understand the situation. His right forefinger was still wrapped in the starlight thread.
His gaze sharpened. He recognized the stinger, but he didn’t know who was attacking him.
Boom!
The ground exploded the next second. A massive, long crack appeared on the ground. Then, a massive corrupted beast, over four meters in size, walked out of the ground.
Jeremy Night’s pupils shrank.
"How is this possible?" he uttered in shock.
The sense of crisis he was feeling right now went through the roof. It was not just a lifeline beast, but a Corrupted Beast.
The size of the beast suggested that it was not a Tier-5 Corrupted Beast.
"Could it be a Tier-6 Corrupted Beast?" Jeremy thought.
The pitch-black corrupted beast was none other than the Black Scorpion Beast. Jeremy quickly realized that it was a genuine Tier-6 Corrupted Beast.
A quick gleam appeared in his eyes.
"No wonder the driver fled right away," he thought.
Whoever planned this out had already bought the cab drivers. Otherwise, it wouldn’t be such a coincidence.
Screech!
The Tier-6 Black Scorpion made a sound.
Seeing that, his expression changed drastically.
He knew it wouldn’t be long before the authorities arrived to capture the beast, but he doubted whether he would get a chance to escape. The beast would definitely try to kill him.
"Who is it?" Jeremy Night uttered.
He didn’t know whether he was targeted alone or being targeted by the Red Moon Chamber members.
Swoosh!
He covered the katana blade’s edge with the starlight thread. The starlight thread on his right forearm disappeared.
"Come on!" Jeremy said with anger.
Swoosh!
The black scorpion darted out towards him to attack.
Boom!
The beast’s pincer came in contact with the starlight blade.
Pfff!
He was forced to go backward to resolve the sudden impact. He spat blood from his mouth while clutching his chest.
Jeremy raised his katana and saw the power of the starlight thread. It had left behind a large red line on the beast’s body.
If it were any other beast Tamers , they would have died from this attack.
