STRIKER: Independent Beast Tamer-Chapter 674: New turmoil!
5th Zone, City A
Jeremy Night left the place after gathering some strength. He didn’t know what had happened to the beast.
Right now, he just wanted to go back to the organisation.
It didn’t take long for him to find a cab service. He approached the driver and told him the destination. Then, he entered the car.
Shortly afterwards, the cab departed from the place. It flew across the sky. Jeremy’s gaze didn’t leave the driver. He hoped that the driver was not one of them.
A few minutes later, the cab reached the Red Moon Chamber Organisation. Only then did Jeremy withdraw his gaze as the car landed on the ground.
Jeremy stepped outside and paid the fare to the driver. He then turned around and walked into the building.
There were a few people in the lobby. Jeremy ignored them and started going towards his room.
After reaching his room, he entered and closed the door. Only then did Jeremy put his heart at ease.
He checked himself; his clothes were dirty.
He went to the bathroom and spent 20 minutes in the bath.
Then, he walked out and changed into comfortable clothes. Next, he went to bed to rest.
...
Outside
The whole city was disturbed by the news of a higher-tier beast’s appearance in the middle of the city.
It didn’t take long for the news to spread all over the city. All the media outlets were reporting about it, including the media of other cities in the 5th Zone.
The news even reached other zones and cities. They were in shock as well.
Here, the locals were protesting that the city administration had been careless. It was their job to protect the safety of the people.
Yet, they had failed badly. If the City Governors were not here, then the higher-tier beast would have gone on a rampage.
Right now, the locals are scared. Unless the City Governors came up with a reasonable explanation, they wouldn’t be able to feel safe and secure.
Not only were the locals disturbed, but even the Beast Taming Families were shocked. Only Central University 5 and the Beast Taming Association knew something about it.
They knew the information about the captive facility run by the criminal organisation, but they didn’t expect their city to be included in it.
Now that the matter had come to light, the City Governors had to do something to appease the anger of the public.
The Heads of both forces went in person to meet the City Governors. They knew about the backer behind the criminal organisation.
But it was not the time to worry about the backer. The criminal organisation had crossed the red line. They were not going to ignore it.
...
City Office
City Governors Orion, Leon, and Martin were in the meeting room. They were discussing the next step. They knew the news was widespread.
There was public anger out there. If they didn’t give a credible reason, they would face consequences.
City Governor Orion said, "It’s not time to think about the backer. Clearly, the criminal organisation didn’t put us in their eyes."
Governor Leon then said, "We should take strict action against them. Why don’t we wipe out their hideouts in the city?"
"Clearly, we can’t explain the situation, and we can’t tell the truth. The public won’t trust us anymore. So it’s better to erase their hideouts," he added.
Martin’s eyes flickered. He was affected as well. His own job would be questioned. All of this trouble started from the crime-fighting mission.
A single crime-fighting mission had led to the conflict. He didn’t know what to say right now.
City Lord Leon said, "I found an interesting thing."
"What is it?" Orion asked.
Martin perked up his ears.
"One of the claws of the Scorpion was severed. I didn’t notice earlier. But when I killed the beast in the wilderness, I found one of the claws was severed," Leon said in a solemn tone.
"Maybe the claw was severed during the struggle to break the barrier," Orion said.
Martin was listening to their words, but he was not paying attention. He wanted the problems to end soon so that they could resume their work.
"We should be ready for the inquiry from the Human Alliance as well," Leon said.
"What should we tell them?"
"They knew about the criminal organisation as well. They have been turning a blind eye to the problem. I hope they won’t put the blame on us," Orion said.
Martin then received a message that the Heads of Central University 5 and the Beast Taming Association had arrived.
...
Meanwhile
The Skull Gang members and other criminal organisations were in both shock and confusion as well. They didn’t expect the higher-tier beast to break out from the facility.
They knew the power of the circular device which put a barrier around the facility. Even the City Governors had failed to find the facility earlier.
The other criminal organisations could only point their fingers toward the Skull Gang. The Skull Gang had used the captive facility for their revenge.
They had managed to kill a few members of the Red Moon Chamber, but the higher-tier beasts managed to break out in the end.
Yet, nobody knew the truth. The real truth was that someone else had fought with the beast. The fighting led to the damage of the circular device.
The other criminal organisations were now targeting the Skull Gang members. They were looking for their whereabouts, but they seemed to have disappeared.
On the other hand, the Skull Gang members were hiding in different places in the city. Some of them used the opportunity to escape into the wilderness.
But none of them were staying in their old hideout because everyone knew about the old hideout. Especially the criminal organisations, who knew the exact location.
If the Skull Gang members were to stay in the old places, then the City Office people would find them easily. Then they would be captured and imprisoned.
So, the Skull Gang members were staying quiet. They were not even contacting the members of other criminal organisations.
