STRIKER: Independent Beast Tamer-Chapter 689: Unique attack!
5th Zone, City A
After getting directions from the people, he started following the route. It took him a few more streets to reach the abandoned residential areas.
Jeremy’s gaze fell on the buildings, especially the dark stains. The residential buildings were abandoned because of some past incident.
He thought it could have been a fire. Using his eye ability, he zoomed into the buildings; the structures and damages became clear.
As his gaze passed over the buildings, he found signs of trespassing. It could be locals or criminals.
Since he had come this far, he decided to check. The person who was following him would appear soon. It was best to deal with him inside the abandoned buildings.
He then walked through a broken gate. There was a long, wide sand road leading to the front area of the residential buildings.
He started walking on foot. Not long after taking a couple of steps, his heart filled with a sense of crisis.
He paused his footsteps and unsheathed his katana blade all of a sudden.
Swoosh!
He held the blade in his hand and started looking around. His gaze became brighter and sharper. He zoomed in, catching minute details in the air.
Soon, he spotted a couple of insects. The insect beasts were small in size, so small that he had to use his eye ability to see them clearly. He finally saw the appearance of the beasts.
They were none other than mosquito insects. However, he was getting a sense of crisis from these same mosquitoes.
He usually didn’t feel such a threat from similar tiers of beasts, so the strength of these creatures must be Tier-5 or above. Only then would he feel a hint of danger.
"Tier-5," Jeremy muttered to himself.
He had never seen such a small group of Tier-5 mosquitoes before. He shook his head. If they were Tier-5 Corrupted Beasts, the size of the beasts should have been larger.
Yet, these insects were smaller than a fingernail. Jeremy held the katana tightly. He continued to watch the insect beasts.
There were more than ten of them. His katana blade pointed downward, the flat side of the blade reflecting the light. He was ready to slash them down.
The next second, he controlled the starlight power in his mental zone. He carefully removed a single layer of starlight thread from the starlight power. The thread flowed through his body before releasing from his palm.
Swoosh!
He coated the edge of the katana blade with the single-layer thread of starlight power. In a flash, the edge was reinforced.
His gaze never left the insect beasts, but his mind was in turmoil. He didn’t know whether they were Lifeline Beasts or Corrupted Beasts.
Since there were so many, he suspected they were Corrupted Beasts. If they were Lifeline Beasts, how could one person control so many? If they were Corrupted Beasts, how had this many entered the city?
On the other hand, these insect beasts were notorious killer mosquitoes, known for their silent attacks. The 5th Zone had suffered all types of disasters from Corrupted Beasts, including attacks like these.
This group of Tier-5 insect beasts had likely already killed several people after entering the city. These mosquitoes were intelligent; they were invisible to the naked eye and only targeted lonesome people.
Swoosh!
The insect beasts drew closer. He let the small creatures approach him.
Cut!
Just as the beasts got close to his body, he slashed his blade at them. The blade went through their bodies, cleaving them into pieces.
Puchak!
Blood splattered on the ground. With the help of his perception and eye power, he continuously landed precise strikes.
Cut!
The blade swept across the bodies of the insect beasts one after another. The starlight thread helped the blade edge cut them down effortlessly.
In the blink of an eye, more than ten insect beasts were killed, their small body parts lying on the ground.
Jeremy crouched down and began to observe them. The corpses were releasing the power of Corrupted Beasts.
"What a unique species of Corrupted Beast. I have not seen such small lifeforms before," Jeremy thought to himself. 𝕗𝗿𝕖𝐞𝐰𝗲𝕓𝐧𝕠𝕧𝗲𝐥.𝚌𝐨𝚖
He took out a small box and started collecting the corpses. After doing so, he stored the box inside his Ring. He figured such unique beasts would fetch a high price. He then stood up and walked toward the residential buildings.
When he reached them, his gaze swept over the structures. He hadn’t found a single living thing so far. He began to use his transparent eye ability.
Like X-ray vision, the walls became transparent. Nothing could be hidden from his eyes. He saw that the rooms in the buildings were empty. As time went by, his gaze passed from one room to the next.
Meanwhile, the person who had been following Jeremy Night reached the residential buildings.
The person was an old man, a Tier-5 Beast Tamer. He was one of the team leaders in a criminal organization called the Skull Gang.
Ever since he saw the Red Moon Chambers members appear in the public square, he had decided to target them, especially when his gaze fell on the weakest link.
That weakest person was the new team member: a Tier-3 Beast Tamer. It would be all the more easy to kill him.
He quickly came to the main entrance. Seeing the broken gate, he walked inside, confirming that no one else was around.
It was the perfect opportunity to kill the kid.
On the other hand, Jeremy Night felt the presence of someone outside. His gaze then turned towards the main gate.
He then sees an old man dressed in ragged clothes. But the scars on his face and forearms showed that he was not an ordinary person.
He then looks for the tattoo in his forearms. His gaze then spotted the tattoo of the Skull Gang.
A hint of anger appeared in his eyes. He wanted to hunt down the Skull Gang members earlier. But he later changed his mind due to risk in the mission. But he didn’t expect the Tier-5 Beast Tamer to come here.
