STRIKER: Independent Beast Tamer-Chapter 699: Fighting against the Tsetse Fly Insect beasts!
Wilderness
Jeremy assured her that it was not a dangerous mission. It was a mission similar to the beginner missions of the Red Moon Chamber.
However, he didn’t reveal the mission information. After assuring her, he ended the call. Then, he went towards the dense green forest.
His senses were heightened. His gaze scanned the whole area, seeing that the place was safe. He quickly found a place to put on his white mask and gloves. Then, he pulled the black boots onto his legs.
After getting ready, Jeremy took his device out and started reading the mission description. There was no one around. His current location was away from the main path; rarely did Beast Tamers use this specific route.
Jeremy saw that Thorn Trees were located in the inner part of the known wilderness, so he had to go deeper. He knew he might come across a Tier-5 Beast or above, but he was not afraid.
After gaining some clarity, he put away the device. Then, he started heading in a northern direction. He went through the dense green forest. The place was filled with unknown vegetation, and there could be poisonous plants among them. 𝐟𝐫𝕖𝗲𝘄𝚎𝗯𝕟𝐨𝕧𝐞𝚕.𝕔𝕠𝐦
If he used the main path, he might come across other Beast Taming Groups. So, he thought it was better to carve out his own path with the help of his eye power.
Not long after, Jeremy was using his katana blade to cut down the overgrown bushes. He was about to continue along the path when his eyes caught something important.
Two white petals of a flower were oddly shaped. He recalled seeing them in a mission description from the Red Moon Chamber.
It was one of the rare plants. He swiftly arrived in front of the plant and used his eye power to observe the details.
The details matched the mission description of a previous mission, but he didn’t collect it.
Instead, he took his digital device out. He opened the map and marked the exact location of the spot.
Next time, if needed, he would come back to this exact spot. After marking the place, he resumed his journey.
He swung his blade to cut down the overgrown vegetation. He thought the rest of the journey would be smooth.
Buzz!
But then he heard a faint buzzing sound. At first, it was a low noise, and he didn’t mind it as he continued walking.
It didn’t take long for the buzzing sound to be heard again, but this time, he felt a sense of crisis along with it.
Jeremy knew his senses were never wrong. He gripped the katana blade and looked for open land. From there, he could understand the situation better. He quickly darted out from his current location.
His eyes scanned the surroundings. It didn’t take long for him to find open ground, and he rushed towards it because the buzzing sound was getting nearer.
When he stepped onto the ground filled with green patches, he raised his head and started using his eye ability. Using his senses, he traced the source of the noise.
He then spotted a flying-type insect beast hovering above the ground. Seeing that flying beast, Jeremy froze on the spot.
He knew that flying-type insect beasts were rare in this part of the wilderness; he had never heard of one here before.
He wondered where it had come from. He continued to observe the flying beast, which was more than a hundred meters away from him.
Suddenly, the Tsetse fly beast turned towards him. Jeremy found the compound eyes of the beast staring right at him.
"Impossible," Jeremy uttered.
There was literally over a hundred-meter gap between them, yet the beast was able to spot him. Jeremy gripped the katana blade tightly. Now he understood where the sense of crisis was actually coming from.
Buzz!
The next second, the buzzing sound erupted. The Tsetse Fly charged towards him.
"Sh!t," Jeremy uttered.
He started using his starlight power. He immediately covered the sharp edge of the blade with a starlight thread.
Swoosh!
The massive fly beast got closer. Jeremy saw through the strength of the fly beast: it was a Tier-5 insect beast.
He knew if he tried to escape, the beast would follow him from behind. Being a fly-type beast gave the creature a massive advantage.
Jeremy noticed that the sharp, needle-like part was the most dangerous; he was getting a sense of crisis from it.
Swoosh!
The fly beast charged forward to attack. The needle-like part was about to pierce through his chest. He side stepped at the last moment to avoid the attack. At the same time, the blade in his hand moved.
Slash!
The blade came into contact with the needle-like part.
Pfff!
The next second, the blade easily swept across, cutting the needle-mouth part in two. Blood gushed forth from the wound. The beast was enraged. It had all happened within seconds.
Jeremy didn’t waste time. He used footwork to release multiple slashes at the beast. The blade cut multiple wounds into the beast’s body.
Pfff!
A torrent of blood emerged from the blade wounds like water streams. The fly beast then lost its balance in the air before crashing down to the ground.
Jeremy then sheathed his blade. He sighed in relief, but he didn’t know why the uneasy feeling had not gone away.
Swoosh!
He immediately left the place and disappeared into the woods. Now he had to change his route. If he went in the same direction, he could come across more beasts.
Buzz!
Not long after, as he was going through the dense forest, the unknown sense of crisis appeared again. This time, the crisis of death gripped his heart.
"What’s going on?" Jeremy thought.
He paused his footsteps. He turned around and started using his eye power again. He saw, not far away from him, a group of flying insect beasts chasing him.
Among them were various sizes of insect fly beasts. One or two of them were larger than the size of a Tier-5 Corrupted beast.
A hint of seriousness appeared in his eyes. He had almost forgotten these beasts liked to travel in groups. Jeremy Night knew that it was risky to tackle them alone.
