STRIKER: Independent Beast Tamer-Chapter 728: Part 2: Tyson Hill
Fortress
"Where is the report?" Jeremy asked.
Nick collected his thoughts. He already had a plan in his mind.
He said, "I got a call from the association staff. They said 100 rat beasts weren’t enough. You need to kill at least 50 more beasts to convince them."
"On top of that, you have to spend at least two nights in the field," he added.
Jeremy frowned. Now he understood where the bad feeling came from. He gave it some thought. The mission description hadn’t mentioned a time limit.
He realized that it would cause people to raise eyebrows. At the same time, he felt something was amiss.
He didn’t find Nick’s expression quite right; there could be a reason behind it. In the end, he decided to follow his words.
As long as no Tier-7 or above Beast Tamer came here, he could take care of the rest of them. He was also wary of the fourth-year student from Central University 5.
He thought that the person named Tyson Hill could be behind Nick’s change in expression. He then took a breath before saying, "Let’s go."
Nick felt a huge weight lifted off his shoulders. He then sat inside the car in the driver’s seat.
Jeremy, as usual, sat in the back. He continued to observe Nick, who was pretending to be scared.
Swoosh!
The car departed from the place a few minutes later, speeding towards the field. Nick was excited. He was closer to completing his young master’s order.
Once they reached the place, his young master would definitely come.
20 Minutes Later
They returned to the field again. The car came to a halt in front of the shade tree. Both of them then stepped out of the car.
"I’m going back," Nick said with a smile.
A quick gleam appeared in Jeremy Night’s eyes. He felt that something bad was going to happen.
"You are not going anywhere. You will stay with me. Once I finish the quota, we will leave the next morning," Jeremy said to him.
Nick’s expression changed drastically. He was afraid that the person had found out something was amiss.
"No, I have work to do. I’ll come tomorrow morning," Nick said in a serious tone. "If I don’t get to work, then I’ll report your name. You could be barred for a few months," Nick added.
Jeremy Night was stunned. He could tell that Nick was using his identity to threaten him. This person had already tried to kill him once.
If he went back, he could bring people here to silence him. He then thought of a solution.
He said, "Good, you can leave. But I’m afraid you will bring your people here. If so, I’ll inform the higher-ups of the Red Moon Chamber."
Gasp!
Nick sucked in a cold breath of air. This time he was convinced that the young Beast Tamer didn’t believe him. He would definitely call for help. Once that happened, then young master Tyson would be in danger as well.
He knew that Tyson must be on his way here with his men. Until then, he could accompany the young Beast Tamer.
It wouldn’t take long for him to leave by then. He took a deep breath before saying, "Alright, I’ll stay here."
Jeremy Night’s eyes flashed with a glint. He didn’t say anything and started walking towards another big tree. Nick chose to follow him from behind.
Both of them entered the field. Jeremy’s gaze fell on the area, and the scene in front of him left him speechless.
He stood there in shock. Nick noticed something wrong as well. When he observed the field, he was shocked to the core.
"Impossible!" he uttered.
None of the blood rat beast corpses were on the ground. They were gone.
Jeremy collected his thoughts. He took a deep breath before using his eye ability. Then, he began to observe the place carefully.
He saw marks where something had been dragged; blood was splattered across the path.
"Something must have dragged away the corpses," Jeremy thought.
"It’s the Rat King beast," Nick said from the side.
By this time, Nick had figured out the problem as well. His goal was to find the Rat King and let his young master’s lifeline beast consume the resources.
Jeremy’s eyes turned cold. He recalled the conversation that had happened earlier. Their goal was to capture the Rat King. Now the Rat King has appeared.
He seemed to realize something: if he stayed here, he could come across the young master. With the Rat King beast there, a confrontation would be unavoidable.
Jeremy wanted to solve this problem; he didn’t want to be involved. Yet, this person was making his life difficult again.
He then took out his device and checked the signal. His eyes flashed with disappointment. There was no signal. Now he regretted not sending a call for help earlier.
Nick saw his actions and was stunned. He then took out his own device to check. Seeing that there was no signal, he sighed in relief.
At the same time, his mouth curled up in a mocking smile. He thought luck was on his side; the young Beast Tamer couldn’t call for help. On the other hand, his master was already on his way.
Jeremy put away his device. He decided to find the trail of the Rat King. Since he had come this far, he decided to eliminate the threat. 𝕗𝗿𝕖𝐞𝐰𝗲𝕓𝐧𝕠𝕧𝗲𝐥.𝚌𝐨𝚖
The human settlement was the nearest place to this location; the Rat King could attack it, and he didn’t want that to happen.
His eyesight captured the details. He followed the dragging signs deeper into the area. Eventually, he left the field and headed toward a low-lying plain.
The surface was covered in green patches. He was surprised; this place didn’t seem to be the habitat of rat beasts. He knew that rat beasts lived underground, which was also the case for blood rat beasts.
While walking forward, he didn’t forget to keep his eyes on Nick. But Nick stayed under the tree; he didn’t follow him to the plains. Jeremy ignored him. He smelled a conspiracy, and he was ready to face it.
