Stronger from Earth-Chapter 68: The Admiral Arrives
(In my book, most of the plot is not wasted words, it seems unrelated, but actually has its purpose, and is definitely not filler. Please believe that I am an author with integrity.)
One side is the young general of the Federation, the other is the Saintess of the Holy Sect, both sides erupting into the final battle.
Their battle is fierce, yet every time they are about to harm each other, they can’t help but hold back a bit, trapped in the mix of love and hate, unable to stop the fight.
"Liu Yong, your people slaughtered my village, the father and daughter who gave me life and raised me, all those relatives and friends died at your hands, and my master’s vengeance, I must avenge!"
Yellow Springs, with tears in her eyes, swings her sword forcefully to kill her lover Liu Yong.
Liu Yong feels guilty, yet how could he not hate: "My comrades, if not for your master’s hand, how would they have suffered such heavy casualties?
Yellow Springs, this realm has already been decided as lost. Why do you need to make unnecessary sacrifices?"
...
The two exchange blows and recount their grievances, until the film reaches its climax.
The male lead Liu Yong strikes with a blade, and the female lead Yellow Springs thrusts with her sword, ultimately falling into Liu Yong’s arms, spitting blood and on the brink of death.
"Yellow Springs, why didn’t you dodge! You clearly could have dodged it!" Liu Yong roars, his heart filled with endless remorse.
"I, we were always going to have... have an ending, but I couldn’t do it, because Yellow Springs... Yellow Springs deeply loves Liu Yong. If it weren’t for this world, I would rather be an ordinary person, growing old with you..."
Yellow Springs is at her last breath: "Liu Yong, let’s meet again in the next life..."
The heroine Yellow Springs passes away, and in an instant, a hundred miles around are filled with blossoming Other Shore Flowers, like a scene from a dream, dying in his embrace just like that.
Later, the Netherworld Star Realm completely became an Affiliated Star Domain of the Mother Star, and the original inhabitants of the Yellow Springs Realm were moved to a transformed planet, renamed as Yellow Springs Star.
On Yellow Springs Star, there’s a Yellow Springs Tomb, where the male lead Liu Yong’s lover is buried.
In the theater at this time, the sound of sobbing is continuous, the men were annoyed, but the women wept with tears and sniffles, asking why Yellow Springs died.
This left them bewildered, who the hell knows why the female lead Yellow Springs died, not to mention this is all the fault of the damned director, what does it have to do with them.
"Xiaowei, Xiaowei?" Wang Xuan looked over, this young girl’s eyes were swollen from crying, he didn’t expect her emotions to be so abundant.
"Alright, alright, stop crying." He handed over a tissue, Su Xiaowei wiped her tears, blew her nose, and indeed felt much better.
The two walked out of the theater, the end credits of "Flowers of the Other Shore" were still rolling.
Director: Liu Yong
A line of words passed silently, unnoticed by most people, even if noticed, they would only think the director and male lead shared a name, perhaps the director’s dark humor.
In Meiling, a large bald head has been before Zhao Hao’s eyes for two hours, yet he couldn’t move, sitting cross-legged listening to the chanting of the monk Puji.
"Amitabha, Benefactor Zhao Hao, you are already possessed by demons, let this monk convert you, to drive away the demon intent from your body."
The Buddha’s Light from the monk Puji’s body shone, and the scripture enveloped Zhao Hao’s entire body, the words urging kindness continuously engrave into Zhao Hao’s soul.
No matter how he refused to accept or wanted to block out those scriptures, he could not break free.
"Possessed? That’s just your one-sided statement, what did I do wrong for you to torment me like this?!" Zhao Hao roared in anger, deeply frustrated.
Yet whenever resentment surged in his heart, the scriptures on his soul glowed, causing a pain that shook his spirit.
His gaze locked firmly on Fang Shan, his nominal master, but Fang Shan was unmoved, wholly engrossed in his chess game.
As if he didn’t see his disciple suffering.
In fact, Fang Shan knew the scripture would only last for two weeks, then disappear, so it wasn’t much to worry about.
After two hours, the monk Puji finally ended the journey of conversion, whether the malice in Zhao Hao’s heart would arise again depended on himself.
Fang Shan waved his sleeve, a stream of Immortal Source Qi surged into Zhao Hao’s body, healing his wounds completely. 𝚏𝗿𝗲𝐞𝚠𝕖𝐛𝗻𝗼𝐯𝕖𝚕.𝚌𝗼𝗺
He glanced at Zhao Hao and said: "That young girl is meant to be the Universal Relief Bodhisattva’s disciple, your desire to kill her, surviving was due to Puji’s goodwill, unwilling to kill."
"Is this a case of retribution? Wrong is wrong. Today, you shall return to Celestial Sword Mountain; do not descend for ten years. With your nature, I fear you won’t live long here."
Zhao Hao’s heart jolted, the opportunity in the Eight-armed Celestial King Realm should have had his part in it, if he returns, what of the opportunity?!
"Why? Why?!" Zhao Hao questioned Fang Shan.
Fang Shan also sighed: "You are my disciple, if not for me taking you up the mountain back then, you might have faced another fate.
Regrettably, you never listened to my teachings, as your master, I deeply feel a sense of failure and do not wish to go on like this.
I’ll give you two choices: heed your master’s teaching, ascend the mountain to cultivate and temper your nature, your violent tendencies attract trouble, you’ve already offended Immortal Martial Mountain and Precious Light Temple.
Were it not for the prestige of Celestial Sword Mountain, not for my reputation, you’ve already died twice, yet you do not self-reflect. I wonder if keeping such a disciple will lead me to the path of death?
If you don’t want to retreat and cultivate, then I’ll grant you freedom, our master-disciple relationship ends here, you walk your own path, life or death left to fate, no longer allowed to invoke Celestial Sword Mountain’s name."
He the Sixth and Puji chuckled, looking at Zhao Hao with grins. As long as Zhao Hao dared to declare leaving Celestial Sword Mountain, no longer Fang Shan’s disciple.
Then the two would immediately kill him, without a second thought.
You, Zhao Hao, still live wholly because of Master Fang Shan, yet stubbornly ignore him, disregarding his teachings.
The privileges enjoyed, the responsibilities discarded, what is that?
Fang Shan’s lifetime of glory is considered defeated by you, Zhao Hao.
Zhao Hao’s gaze shimmered, and a sharp pain arose from his soul, yet he was indifferent. He immediately kowtowed and admitted his mistake: "Master, it’s my fault. I’ll return to Celestial Sword Mountain and won’t descend for the next ten years."
But in his heart, he thought angrily that he had brought Celestial Sword Mountain thirty percent of the profits from the Eight-armed Celestial King Realm, such a great achievement, and yet that old thing was so unfair!
What injustice!
Once he returns to Celestial Sword Mountain, he will definitely report to the masters and senior uncles, letting them champion justice for him!
Traveling by sword, Zhao Hao’s figure vanished.
Puji shook his head: "Fang Shan, you’re not suited to take disciples; truly unsuited."
"I know, which is why I won’t take any disciples in this lifetime. Isn’t living for oneself just fine? No matter how many disciples I take, none of them live as long as I do," Fang Shan sighed.
"Well, having taught your disciple, now I should retrieve the hardship my disciple has suffered twice. How about you receive two of my sword strikes?"
Puji helplessly shook his head. Fang Shan, your disciple hates you to death, completely misunderstanding you, and you never tell Zhao Hao about coming to his disciple’s aid. What significance does this have?
"Two sword strikes, then. You stick to your principles so firmly; what else can I say?"
Clang!
Two sky-piercing sword lights suddenly emerged!
A Buddha’s palm reached out, seemingly containing a world within it, where millions of beings cycled through life and death, striking toward the sword lights.
"Amitabha." Puji chuckled bitterly, a golden tear ran from the Bodhisattva’s golden body, and golden yellow blood flowed out.
The space in the sky cracked open, dark as an abyss, carved out by Fang Shan’s sword.
Half an hour later, the heavenly scar slowly disappeared, and the sky returned to normal.
An Earth Immortal stepped forward to report: "Senior Uncle He, the Federation has sent a notification that the commanding officer for the Eight-armed Celestial King Realm battle is Admiral Liu Yong."
Realm battles invariably involve the Federation’s resources, though Immortal Martial Mountain leads this time, military might and resource development technology are essential.
When it comes to exploiting Otherworlds, the Federation is the expert, deploying manpower and resources, eventually colonizing this Star Domain.
The interests of the Mountain Gate and the Federation overlap in part, which can be negotiated for partitioning, but much is different, forming the basis for cooperation.
The Federation is a whole entity without kings or emperors, only senators and presidents, while the mountain gate of Immortals holds the power of the Alien Royal, with many controlling the Federation’s governance.
The Federation, as a national mechanism, also wields substantial power, representing the people to some degree, not completely obeying the Immortals.
Their entanglements involve mutual supervision, sustaining Mother Star Civilization’s development.
An hour after the notification, the Federation’s Admiral arrived.
"Greetings Fangshan Sword Master, Elder He, and Universal Relief Bodhisattva."
The visitor was General Liu Yong, who rose during the Yellow Springs Realm war, now among the Federation’s top ranks as an admiral.
He the Sixth waved his hand and said: "The three of us are only slightly older than you, born barely twenty years earlier, so you don’t need to call us seniors."
"Then I’ll be bold." Liu Yong appeared suave, a middle-aged man by appearance, but truly over two hundred years old.
During the Yellow Springs Realm war, he became a Major General. Two hundred years have passed, and now he’s an admiral, with a cultivation level of Peak of Celestial Immortal, far inferior to the second-generation disciples of Celestial Sword Mountain and Immortal Martial Mountain.
"General Liu, I heard your directed film premiered? The box office should be good, right? Not only on Mother Star, but across many affiliated Star Domains as well," Fang Shan remarked casually, sipping tea.
"This film chronicles merely an incident, an uncomplicated story, largely artistically processed," Liu Yong replied.
Back in that battle, he indeed ventured to the Holy Sect, it was then that he encountered the Yellow Springs Saintess, and the ties of enmity and affection weren’t as complex; he actually managed to persuade Yellow Springs.
Unfortunately, Otherworld’s fortune backfired, and Yellow Springs did not survive.
Years have passed, though he nostalgically reflects, Liu Yong is long since married with children, founding the Liu Clan.
Regret remains simply regret; one must live onward without dwelling in the past.
"The Netherworld Star Realm seems truly decadent to require such publicity, exposing the harshness of war anew to the populace of affiliated Star Domains," remarked Universal Relief Bodhisattva.
Liu Yong nodded: "The Netherworld Star Realm’s unique environment is shrouded with heavy yin energy; after death, people become ghosts, leading to frequent abnormal events.
Rebels exploit this environment to hide, manipulating ghosts to create chaos.
Descendants of the Yellow Springs Realm bloodline, dissatisfied with their status, now collaborate with rebels attempting to reclaim the Netherworld Star Realm.
Rebels from various Star Domains converge in the Netherworld Star Realm, aiming to ignite widespread warfare, even aligning with enemies from Hell Realm, Evolution Realm, Wizard Realm, etc., to opportunistically attack Mother Star."
Admiral Liu Yong stated, indeed the film "Flowers of the Other Shore" was a political task, not his personal ambition.
"However, they severely underestimate Earth Civilization’s strength; any Immortal could effortlessly sweep them aside; fighting on home ground, we face no suppression in strength," He the Sixth snorted.
Leaving those Otherworld bloodlines originally was sparing them, yet they unexpectedly became a grave threat.
"Once they expose their tails, it’ll be the day to close the net," Liu Yong remarked.
Following this, they began discussing the Eight-armed Celestial King Realm matters. At their level, they merely direct, leaving combat to the younger generation.
