Jane, Henry, and Azrael all had similar ranks in their mortal bodies, with all of them being close to reaching C Rank. But that didn't mean that they were all matched in terms of strength and speed.

From what Scar had seen so far, Jane seemed like she put more focus on stamina and speed, Henry had his highest points in durability and strength with his lowest being agility.

But Azrael was trying his best to keep all of his stats evenly balanced.

That was the reason why Azrael could do what he was doing.

Azrael might be losing out to Jane and Henry in some of the stats, but overall, he had the best Mortal Body of the three.

As the test neared its end, Scar saw that the three of them were separated by only three points at the top of the table.

'This is the most interesting class I've ever taught.'

Scar chuckled and watched Azrael finish off his own high jump and once more managed to come in second. This time, Jane Ashton had come in first, and Henry took third place.

But both Jane and Henry looked frustrated as they stared at the scoreboard above them. It was obvious to both of them that Azrael had held back in that high jump. Azrael did just enough to get second place again, which allowed him to tie with Henry for second place.

There was only one test left, so if Azrael wanted to win this, then he was going to have to go all out on that one. If Azrael came in second and Jane came first, then there was no way he would be getting the ten points in his academic ranking. But if he won, then he was going straight to the top.

Jane was breathing heavily with her hands on her knees. Even though she was one of the strongest in the class, there was no way she wouldn't feel tired after everything she had gone through that day. She had been bombarded by hundreds of thousands of volts earlier and now she was already trying to carry out a full athletics course.

She was freaking tired!

Henry was no different. The time he spent in the heat chamber made him very dehydrated, and he almost lost his senses there.

It was only after taking a bath that he was able to think clearly again.

After all that, he was already feeling woozy in the head and he felt like he would fall over if he dared to sit down now.

Azrael crouched and put his hands on the floor while sweat pooled on his forehead and fell to the ground around him. He was tired. He was so freaking tired.

It was like there was a knife lodged deep in his stomach and he almost felt like hurling every time he took a breath. Although Azrael had been working hard all this time not to show it, his time in the gravity chamber had really affected him.

Azrael was not a child of Ares or any other god of strength, so he was using nothing but his regular strength to get through this test. Even the Artificial God aspect that he got from Francis' lackey was useless because it only activated when Azrael was in the middle of a battle.

When he was just training, it was useless.

But even with the tiredness, Azrael refused to show any form of weakness.

Azrael glanced up at the ranking board and saw that he and Henry were tied for second place, with Jane only two points ahead of them.

The next test was going to determine who won this.

Azrael then glanced at the academic rankings at the side and he felt that competitiveness from before resurging through him again.

Azrael was going to get those ten points no matter what. There was no way he was going to allow Jane to take first place in the rankings like this.

"Okay, killers. That was quite the workout. You're all looking about ready to tear each other apart, but how about we hold on to the excitement and use it for the final test? The next event is going to be the obstacle course. There are four hundred meters of obstacles between you and victory, and you will all be taking it three at a time. Since the rankings already determined who are going to be the top three, everyone else will go before them, and we'll be treated to quite a sight when the three of them go up against one another. You three, make sure you don't let your guard down. One slip-up from any of you and the rankings could turn on its head. Let's have the first three on the starting line."

Scar called out the first three names for the obstacle course and Azrael went to stand against the wall on the far side of the room while watching his classmates go through the course.

It was a typical obstacle course with net scaling, rock climbing, vaults, wide jumps, and monkey bars. All three students were going to be going through the course at the same time, and they would be ranked based on their times.

Azrael took in a shallow breath to calm himself.

"You're doing this on purpose, aren't you?"

Jane Ashton spoke up from beside Azrael with a scowl on her face, and Azrael only glanced at her for a moment before turning away without responding.

Jane walked up to Azrael and leaned on the wall beside him to watch the obstacle races as well, and Azrael turned to her.

"What do you want?"

"I want you to answer my question. Why are you holding back?"

Azrael shrugged.

"I'm not holding back."

"Don't give me that nonsense. You are a lot faster than you showed today. Even when we were kids, you almost beat my time on the track. There's no way you'll suddenly be that slow. Were you trying to save energy for the obstacle race? You know that it won't make a difference, right?"

Azrael hummed as he turned to look at the scoreboard where he and Henry were neck in neck for second place, with Jane being only two points ahead of them.

"I think it'll help a little bit. Rather than worrying about me, you should think about yourself. You look like you're about to pass out from the stress."

Jane used the back of her hand to clean the sweat off her forehead before she said,

"I'm fine. Just don't get in my way in the obstacle race. You can enjoy your second-place finish till the end."

Azrael chuckled at the childish jab before pushing off the wall to walk away.

Jane watched Azrael leave with a scowl on her face before she huffed and finally started to breathe heavily to relax her racing heart.

The class continued their test well into the day, and finally, when the last of the students were done, Scar called on the top three for the final race.

Henry, Azrael, and Jane lined up at the starting points.

All the students were standing around and paying rapt attention as they waited to see what the outcome of the race was going to be.

Even those who were dead tired couldn't keep their eyes off the race. This was what would determine who would take the top spot in their year! Would Jane keep her position as the top student, or would she be dethroned by Azrael?

And, craziest of all, was Henry going to be the joker that ruined all of their plans?

The three students stretched as they waited for Scar to signal the start, and the other students held their breaths as the room descended into silence. Finally, after a few seconds, Scar spoke.

"Set."

Azrael got into a ready position, and once he heard the whistle, he exploded forward!

Boom!

The air pressure from all three students taking off was enough to blow up dust and make the clothes of the other students flutter around!

The students all cheered in excitement for their favorites as they watched the race!
