Thomas finally walked out of the room to join the other boys, and Azrael listened as the children all filed out from the dorm to head to the church. The two large buses that were used to carry them all were waiting outside, and a few minutes later, Azrael heard the buses revving before they took to the road and left.

Azrael finally took the blanket off his body and turned in bed with a sigh.

Underneath the blanket, Azrael was wearing the Shard of Aridite around his neck with boxers and a singlet.

There was a faraway look in Azrael's eyes as he stared at the ceiling, and Azrael wondered if there wasn't really something wrong with him.

Azrael felt guilty.

The actions he carried out yesterday were necessary to make sure that he survived.

If he was asked to do it a million times over, Azrael would do it without a second thought.

But even though Azrael didn't feel anything yesterday, he couldn't help the slight guilt that crept into his heart today.

Azrael knew that killing innocent people was something he was going to do sooner or later if he wanted to survive, but in his heart, Azrael felt like yesterday could've gone a lot better.

He made too many mistakes, and because of that, he killed two more people than he initially planned to. He couldn't keep going like this.

Azrael picked up his phone and looked through the news as always. Before this, Azrael had never bothered looking through the news this much, but nowadays, it had become like a ritual to him.

The top trending news for that day was obviously about the break-in and murder at the Prince Oak Hotel. The news mentioned that the people who were killed were planning to get married in the near future.

[The killer was a young male demigod, and it is believed that he possesses a blessing from either Poseidon or any of the other water-based Celestial Guardians.]

In the news, the killer was given the moniker 'Black Mask.'

Azrael read through the rest of the news quickly to make sure that there weren't any mentions of possible leads. Azrael knew that they would assume he was a child of Poseidon after seeing him use the Water Shield yesterday. This was a good way to get them off his back, and Azrael was going to try to make things even more difficult for them by using more water-based God Aspects later.

Everyone believed he didn't have a God Aspect, so the police would never suspect someone like him of using a God Aspect.

Azrael swung his leg off the bed before he leaned his hands on his thigh and turned to his system. Azrael hadn't looked at his system tabs at all since he came back last night. The pain from all the injuries and the rush to clean the blood on his body prevented Azrael from doing anything else before he passed out on the bed.

There were various tabs open in front of Azrael, and Azrael had to arrange them properly before he opened the first one to take a look.

'I got two God Aspects?'

Azrael hummed in curiosity when he saw this. Azrael was able to figure out what had happened immediately. This could only mean that Romanov's fiancé was also a demigod. The man had an E Rank in God Aspect, but his mortal body really wasn't anything to write home about.

Is this how the police academy handles its own recruits? Do they make them improve the aspect of their blessing that is more beneficial and not bother improving their mortal body ranking?

In the brief moment when Azrael and Romanov's fiancé tussled yesterday, Azrael was able to easily overpower him before stabbing him in the neck. That meant the man was barely a D Rank in Mortal Body.

'What a waste of potential.'

Azrael frowned as he had this thought. He then looked through the descriptions of the skills and he nodded when he saw that they were both pretty useful.

The skill [Hear No Evil] was what Azrael had been aiming for all this time. It would allow him to tell if someone was lying or not.

There were limitations to the skill that made Azrael a little worried though. Azrael wouldn't be able to tell if someone of a higher rank was lying with a hundred percent accuracy. That meant he would only be able to judge the words of those ranked lower than him. But even still, it was a very useful ability to have.

Maybe this was why Romanov decided to be a part of the police rather than a Divine Enforcer. A skill like this didn't really have a lot of applications in combat, and as a police officer, Romanov would be handling cases involving humans and weaker demigods. Since the God Aspect was D ranked, there wouldn't be a lot of demigods out there that would be higher ranked than he, so she would definitely be able to tell if any criminal was lying or not.

The skill would help him when he got stronger, but for now, he was able to stop Romanov from getting involved in his investigation, and that was the most important part.

The other skill was also very useful. [Eye of Nyx] allowed him to see in the dark and through obstructions, and Azrael wondered just how powerful a skill like this would be if it was higher ranked. Would it be able to see through walls? Or maybe it would have some sort of infrared ability?

If Azrael could improve his skills, then this skill would have made him the perfect assassin.

If he combined it together with the [Silence of Death] that he got from his Oathkeeper sword, it would make a deadly combination.

Azrael would just have to wait until he could improve his God Aspect. The system told him that he would have more conditions added to his God Aspect as he improved it, so there was still a chance that he would be able to improve the Artificial God Aspects in the future.

At least, Azrael could be sure that no one would be able to sneak up on him while he was in a dark area. And if the police ever used smoke bombs or grenades to block his vision, he would be the one with the advantage.

Azrael swiped away the two God Aspects and he brought up the tab that he was most interested in seeing.

Progress Required to Rank Up: 2%

The [Lithany of Ascension] was not something new to Azrael.

Azrael had heard from many of his seniors in school as well as some of the Divine Enforcers that appeared on the news that the Lithany of Ascension was the only known way to improve the God Aspect rank from one to another.

When the first group of demigods were born, there were no guidebooks or instructions on how to go about the Lithany. The only thing that the system told them was that it was a form of mantra that was unique to each demigod. You had to come to a better understanding of yourself while meditating and getting a better feel for your divine core.
