Chapter 654: New Teammate

Kyle said his goodbyes to the few people he had come into contact with in the Farmountain Guild and left.

After passing through the Teleportation Array Formation, he took a deep breath.

'You know, I can see why this job exists. It's beneficial for everyone.'

'Sending people from the Array of Stars to Secondary Organizations will always cause an uproar. I don't think the Secondary Organizations will just keep going as they always have.'

'The Constitution Sect is probably a bit different from before. They probably still adhere to their weird way of talking, but my presence should have shown them that blindly following their ancestor's teachings isn't the way to become truly outstanding. I think this change will be beneficial to them.'

'The Farmountain Guild was changed the most. Not sure if I managed to get through to all of the Disciples, but at least several of their top Disciples have changed their approach. Additionally, they will most likely believe their Core Elder a bit more now.'

'The Highman's Club… not sure about them. They just tried to scheme against me. Well, at least I managed to show them that they shouldn't scheme against more powerful organizations. Nobody died, and they learned a valuable lesson.'

'All three organizations benefitted in one way or another.'

'Meanwhile, I got a bunch of treasures for my ninth Cluster, which means I've benefitted as well. I also learned more about organizations in general and how powerful their Disciples and Elders are.'

'Lastly, the Array of Stars benefits in two ways. First, they don't have to pay me with resources since I already got those. Second, the stronger their subservient organizations are, the stronger the Array of Stars is.'

'Everyone grows and benefits.'

'Pretty useful.'

Kyle took out his communicator and looked at one of the alarms.

'In three months, my team job is about to start. I somehow have to kill time until then.'

'For now, I should look at some more powerful metals. Would suck if my hammer just broke into pieces after I unlock another Cluster.'

Kyle went back to his room and asked for all the Higher Primal Metal Materials.

Compared to his previous requests, this one wasn't immediately granted.

The reason was simple.

Kyle's job didn't give him free access to all Level C Resources.

Because of that, he needed permission to get something.

About ten seconds after he had asked for permission, a message arrived on his communicator. "Why do you need these resources?" the message read.

"If I attack at full force, my weapon cracks. If I unlock another Cluster, I will become useless in battle. I have a Metal Affinity, which means I make my own weapons," Kyle wrote back.

Kyle waited for an answer.

"How many Clusters have you unlocked?"

"Four."

The next moment, a big machine appeared in Kyle's home gym.

"Enter the machine," another message said.

"Sure," Kyle said as he walked into the machine.

The next moment, the machine activated, and Kyle heard a high ringing tone.

Then, it deactivated again.

Five seconds passed.

Finally…

BANG! BANG! BANG!

Over a thousand different stones appeared in Kyle's home gym.

Every single Higher Primal Material was present.

"Request granted," a message on his communicator said. "Only use as much as needed."

"Sure, thanks," Kyle answered.

Then, the message window closed.

'God, they're stingy!' Kyle thought. 'They probably think I'm someone who will leave the Array of Stars anyway, which is why spending resources on me is a waste.' 𝒇𝙧𝙚𝓮𝙬𝙚𝓫𝒏𝓸𝓿𝓮𝒍.𝓬𝙤𝓶

'The only reason why I even got these materials is probably that I've unlocked four Clusters within 200 years, which puts me at the front in terms of speed.'

Before Kyle started on his comprehension, he looked at his solo job page on his communicator.

'No target. Instead, I get requirements,' he thought.

"Goal: Unlocking all minor Clusters."

"Time left: 300 years."

"If you fail, you will be let go."

"If you succeed, you will receive your next target."

'Makes sense,' Kyle thought. 'The next organizations they're going to send me to won't be pushovers like the last ones. The current power of the top Core Disciple in the Farmountain Guild will probably represent the lower average of their Core Disciples. He might even be in the bottom 20%.'

'My job is to be the top Core Disciple, and these organizations probably have 10/13 and even 11/13 Primals that know Level Three or Level 3.5 Complex Laws.'

'To be frank, a 10/13 Primal that knows a Level Three Law is someone I would most likely lose against with my current power.'

'I would assume the time limit is the same for everyone. Unlocking seven Clusters within 500 years total means you need to unlock one Cluster every 71 years or so on average. The guy handling my resources wanted to make sure that I was on track.'

'Well, for now I have to focus on comprehending the Fragment of High Primal Metal Materials, but I also have to start my team job.'

'Seems like I will be focusing on my training while being pulled into team battles from time to time.'

'Will be a bit of a chaotic time, but it should work out.'

Kyle put his communicator away and looked at the first of the materials.

Without wasting any more time, he started his comprehension.

He only managed to comprehend some materials before his alarm went off.

'Well, time to meet our new teammate. I wonder how Swamp Dragon has been doing.'

A short moment after Kyle's alarm went off, he received an automatic message on his communicator.

"Team introduction takes place in Starwing Hall 357," it read.

'No idea where that is,' he thought as he clicked on the attached arrow.

A moment later, a transparent display appeared in front of Kyle.

The display showed an arrow, which told him where to go.

'Real life GPS. Don't even have to look at my phone. That's pretty neat,' Kyle thought as he walked out of his room, following the arrow.

The arrow led him through the main hall.

He went up some stairs, went through a bunch of hallways, and finally, the arrow pointed at a door.

As Kyle approached the door, it opened on its own.

When Kyle saw the room, he got a flashback to the couple of months he had worked as a wagey in an office building.

This looked exactly like a meeting room on Earth, except that it was all dark blue and more futuristic.

Surprisingly, there already was a person inside.

There was a young man wearing the uniform of the Array of Stars in the room.

The man had white hair, and he smiled at Kyle with excitement.

'He has the aura of a college student who's currently an intern in a company,' Kyle thought as he saw him.

"Hello, how do you do?" the man spoke with excitement as he stood up. "I'm Psychosis Manifestation, but you can just call me Manny. My full title is a mouthful," he said with a friendly laugh.

"Hey, Manny," Kyle said. "I'm-"

"Meteor Hammer!" Manny interrupted. "I've already been told about my new teammates. Sadly, my old ones died during our last mission."

"Oh," Kyle said. "That sucks, but-"

"Did you hear?" Manny asked excitedly, interrupting Kyle again. "Our third member was supposed to be someone called Swamp Dragon, but he died, which is why they're sending a new one!"

Kyle's mind stopped working.

"What?" he asked.

"Yeah, I was just as surprised," Manny said. "I heard Swamp Dragon was pretty good, but he fell into an ambush or something. I don't know the details. Anyway, our new teammate is called Warp Space. Apparently, she barely got in!"

Kyle's mind was going wild.

Swamp Dragon was dead?

Warp Space was their new teammate?

When Kyle thought about Swamp Dragon's death, he became nervous.

"Warp Space?" Kyle asked absentmindedly.

"Oh yeah, she's-"

Before Manny could say anything, the door behind them opened, and someone walked in.

Kyle turned around, and when he saw that person, his eyes widened.

"Nice to see you again, Meteor Hammer," Swamp Dragon said with a slight smile.

Kyle just looked at Swamp Dragon.

"BAHAHAHAHA!"

Then, the two of them looked at Manny, who had just burst out laughing.

Swamp Dragon furrowed his brows.

He had already met Manny a couple of years ago, and he had already had the same experience Kyle was having right now.

When Kyle recovered, he looked at Manny with narrowed eyes.

"You lied!" Kyle said.

Manny just laughed.

"It was a joke! Come on! It's funny!" Manny shouted.

Swamp Dragon and Kyle just watched Manny laughing.

This was their new teammate.
