Jason’s lips split into a grin once he heard this, and he quickly began to connect the glyphs together! They were already on the last hurdle before they could finally break through this rune, and Jason knew that a single mistake here would ruin hours of their hard work! Jason carefully sent mana through the glyphs that he wanted to manipulate, and he could feel a pulse travel through the air as the rune accepted the mana and began to twist in the direction he was sending them! Azrael noticed the changes, and he quickly completed the final algorithm that he needed. Once that was finished, Vana pressed his hand against the wall, and all three of them unleashed mana at the same time!
DOOONN!!!
A massive pulse of mana surged across the underground cave as the [Cage of Eternity] began to vibrate with an overload of mana! Gina and Stella jerked up in shock when they felt the intense surge of mana that passed over them, and Gina stood up quickly as she saw a massive crack tear across the surface of the glass wall!
CRACK!
The fracture travelled through the entire wall as the rune slowly began to unravel, and Jason’s grin only grew wider as he watched it! Behind him, Gina felt an excited jolt travel through her body as she realised that Jason had actually done it! He managed to break through a first-grade rune! Jason watched on proudly as the glass wall continued to break apart, and he let out a breath in relief as the entire wall in front of him finally shattered! The woman who had been suspended within the [Cage of Eternity] suddenly began to fall forward as the rune finally released its hold on her, and she would have hit the ground if Jason hadn’t stepped forward and caught her in a gentle embrace. The woman’s face pressed into Jason’s shoulder as her black hair fell around them like a curtain, and Jason gently wrapped his hand around her. The woman’s skin was ice cold and paler than paper, and even though Jason couldn’t feel all of it, he was certain that there was an impossible amount of power swirling within her body. Jason was about to release her and see if she was still conscious or not, but what happened next was something no one could have predicted.
At one moment, Gina and Stella were moving towards Jason to congratulate him, but at the next, Gina saw the pale woman raise her head with her mouth wide open to reveal two long, sharp fangs! Gina’s eyes widened in shock, and she jumped forward with a scream, but she couldn’t even take a step before the pale woman sank her fangs into Jason’s neck!
Bite!
"JASON!!"
"Argh!"
Jason grunted in pain as he felt the fangs pierce into his veins, and a strange feeling of helplessness came over his body as an unknown power began to flow into his veins! The feeling was like someone had stabbed a burning metal rod right into his bloodstream, and Jason quickly pushed the woman off with force!
Boom!
The pale woman slammed into the wall on the other side of the cave, and Jason fell to the ground and held his neck as an intense pain shot through his entire body! Jason’s heart rate sped up astronomically, and sweat began to pour out from his body like a river!
"Rarrrgh!!"
"Jason! Jason, are you okay! Jason!"
Gina quickly came to kneel down beside Jason, and she grabbed his head in her hands and yelled his name with a worried expression on her face! Gina saw the look of pure torment on Jason’s face, and a feeling of absolute terror came over her as she realised that something was very wrong! Jason’s mana suddenly began to pour out from him uncontrollably, and Gina grunted as she felt a massive pressure pressing down on her! Jason’s power as a Rank II TITAN was far stronger than what Gina could handle at her level, but Gina just grit her teeth and held Jason closer while calling out his name! On the other side of the cave, Stella had pulled out her sword and raced towards where the pale woman had flown to! The pale woman pulled herself out from the wall and stumbled to her feet, and Stella immediately put her sword to the woman’s neck and screamed in anger!
"What did you do to the prince!? Answer me!"
Stella’s eyes were wide with rage, and she was more than prepared to unleash all of her power at this moment to make sure this woman reversed whatever she had done to Jason, but the moment the woman raised her head and stared at Stella, Stella felt her eyes widen in shock!
"You... how...?"
Stella couldn’t believe who she was looking at. From the first moment Stella saw this woman behind the glass wall, there was a part of her that felt on edge! There was an instinctual fear that Stella felt in her heart just from looking at the woman, and Stella had only ignored that feeling because she refused to allow her fear to stop Jason from accomplishing his goals! But as Stella stared into the blood-red eyes of the woman in front of her, Stella realised that the fear she had been feeling was more than justified! This was a woman who had cut down millions of people during the Period of Lawlessness, and the mage who could draw on the blood of her enemies and use it as a weapon of mass destruction. The Blood Angel of the Battlefield, and the True Queen of the Vympir Race, Gillian.
’How is she still alive!? I thought she died in a battle against a Phantasmal Beast!’
Stella grit her teeth as she tried to stop her heart from racing! The woman in front of her was someone who had been strong enough to go toe to toe with Legendary Beasts, and Stella knew that even if Gillian was weakened from years of imprisonment, there was nothing she could do to stop her! But that doesn’t mean Stella was going to back down! Stella stepped forward and shouted again!
"I said what did you do to the prince! Answer me right now!"
Gillian was standing in a crouched position, like a caged animal that had just been set loose, and her hair fell across her shoulder like a river of black. Her face was pale and beautiful enough to put anybody in a trance; there were two long, sharp fangs peeking from her open mouth, and a trail of blood was leaking down the pale white skin of her chin from when she had bitten Jason’s neck. Gillian’s blood-red eyes trailed away from Stella’s sword and glanced at Jason with an unreadable expression. Gina was still holding Jason close to her chest while calling out to him, and Gillian only watched them for a few seconds before she lost interest and turned away. Gillian turned back to Stella sharply, and all of Stella’s instincts screamed at her to step back! Stella quickly jumped back without even knowing why, and at the next moment, the entire cave imploded as Gillian shot off the ground!
BOOM!
Gillian exploded through the roof of the cave and broke through the rest of the castle before escaping into the Riyad sky! The shockwave from taking off alone was enough to throw Stella off her feet, and Stella slammed into the ground with a grunt before looking up angrily to see that Gillian was already gone! Stella cursed, and she was about to take off after Gillian!
"Stella! Stella, something’s happening! I can’t feel Jason’s connection anymore!"
