Chapter 16: Bolt God Fist

The ghostly man looked at Han Yu and pondered how he should approach this.

"Hmm... I'll teach you a fist technique since you like it," the ghostly man stated.

'I don't particularly like fist techniques. It was just the one I could afford,' Han Yu thought but wisely kept his mouth shut. After all, he wasn't about to sabotage his chances of getting something better.

"What technique is it?" Han Yu asked eagerly, leaning forward like an overenthusiastic student.

In response, the ghostly man stood up with the dramatic flair of a street performer who just found a willing audience. He pulled his fist back with deliberate slowness, letting the tension build. Then, he punched forward with a sharp twist of his wrist.

RUMBLE

Han Yu was nearly knocked off his feet by the shockwave and immediately clutched his ears. "That... that sounded like thunder just struck!" he exclaimed, thoroughly impressed and partially deaf.

But that was just the beginning.

RUMBLE

RUMBLE RUMBLE

The ghostly man continued punching, alternating between his arms, each strike echoing like an angry thunderstorm throwing a tantrum. Han Yu barely registered the sound anymore, but something else caught his eye.

A tree, standing some distance away, was starting to suffer.

CRACK CRACK CRACK

Before Han Yu could even process what was happening, the tree gave up on life entirely and snapped in half.

THUD

'He broke a tree... from a distance?!' Han Yu's mind short-circuited.

The man hadn't even touched it. The tree had simply decided it was done with life. Han Yu could only imagine what would happen if that punch actually landed on a person.

'Wouldn't they just... explode?!'

As Han Yu stood there, gaping, the ghostly man finally stopped and turned toward him.

"What... what technique is this?" Han Yu stammered, his excitement barely contained. He wasn't an expert in martial arts, but he was fairly certain this technique wasn't something you found in your average discount scroll shop.

"This," the ghostly man announced grandly, "is the Bolt God Fist!"

"The Bolt God Fist..." Han Yu whispered in awe. Then his excitement exploded. "AWESOME!"

'This is exactly the kind of technique I need! With this, I'll crush the sect entrance exam! No one will stand a chance! I'll be a legend!' Han Yu was fully convinced that victory was his. What he failed to realize was that mastering it might be slightly more complicated than he anticipated.

The ghostly man smirked, pleased with his reaction. "This technique is far beyond what this measly world could ever come up with. If you can master it, you'll be set for a long time. You can use it all the way up to the Immortal Ascension Realm."

Han Yu blinked. "The Immortal Ascension Realm? What's that?"

The ghostly man froze. Then he let out a long, suffering sigh and rubbed his forehead.

"This kid..." he muttered under his breath, as if reconsidering every decision that had led him to this moment.

"What? Tell me!" Han Yu demanded.

"Later. I'm eating first." The ghostly man reached for another roasted wolf leg and started devouring it.

Han Yu groaned. "Aww man..." He wanted to argue, but the man was his only ticket to power, so he held back. Instead, he found himself staring at the man's meal.

'Wait... didn't he already eat a whole leg? How is he still going?!' Han Yu was astounded. 'I'm already full, and he's acting like he just started.'

As Han Yu watched in horror, the ghostly man casually tore through half the wolf. That was when the boy had a terrifying realization.

"HEY! That was supposed to be mine! Stop eating it all!" Han Yu protested, suddenly fearing for his future meals.

"Hmph. This is just common beast meat. I can get more," the ghostly man waved him off dismissively.

Han Yu sulked. "Fine... but you better replace it!" He reassured himself that he wouldn't have been able to carry all that meat anyway. But as he brooded, the ghostly man suddenly smirked.

"Tell you what. I'll get you more meat if you answer some questions," he proposed.

Han Yu narrowed his eyes. "What about the technique?"

"Later," the man said with the confidence of someone who had absolutely no intention of keeping track of time.

Han Yu sighed dramatically. "Fine. What do you wanna know?" He figured a few questions were a fair trade for a meal worth a small fortune.

"What world is this?" the ghostly man asked first.

Han Yu frowned. "Our world? Uh... well, most people just call it 'the world.' But I've heard it called the Blue World or the Five Oceans World too."

The ghostly man's eye twitched. "That's too vague."

Han Yu scratched his head. "Oh! I did hear some old guys calling it the Violet Eve World. But that might just be a story. Don't get mad if I'm wrong."

The ghostly man looked deep in thought. "Violet Eve World..." He tried to recall anything familiar but drew a blank. He sighed and pressed on. "Alright, what Immortal Court rules this world?"

Han Yu gave him a blank stare. "Immortal Court? What's that?"

The ghostly man's eye twitched again. "Fine. What about immortals? Who's the ruling immortal?"

Han Yu shrugged. "Don't they just exist in legends?"

The ghostly man's hands trembled. Then he clutched his head and let out a guttural groan.

"FUCKING HELL! Did I end up in a mortal world of all places!?" he shouted, his aura flaring in frustration.

Han Yu took a cautious step back, watching the man suffer what appeared to be a full existential crisis. "Uh... you okay?"

The ghostly man let out a dramatic sigh, as if all the weight of the universe had just crushed him. "No, kid. No, I am not okay."

Han Yu still had no idea why the guy was freaking out, but one thing was clear: he had just become this man's problem. And it was hilarious.

Han Yu watched the man throw a tantrum on his own, hoping that he would soon teach him the technique
