Strongest Scammer: Scamming The World, One Death At A Time-Chapter 706: Killing The Evil Spirit
"You bastard!" The Spirit howled and rushed at Han Yu, its form stretching into a long, blood colored streak.
Madam Cold Fang moved instantly, throwing up a towering wall of ice between them.
The spirit smashed into it, cracking it apart, but that moment was enough.
Han Yu retreated, flying backward while gathering himself.
Madam Cold Fang appeared beside him in a flash.
"Can you use that again?" she asked sharply.
"A few times," Han Yu replied, breathing hard. "But only if it can be held still long enough."
She nodded. "I will try. You strike at the right moment."
She turned and rushed back into battle, her Qi surging even more violently than before.
The spirit, now injured, became cautious. It dodged more carefully, weaving through attacks with frightening speed, but it also began to counterattack more fiercely, launching claws of condensed blood Qi and spikes of dark mist.
The mountains suffered for it.
Peaks cracked. Trees were flattened. Snow turned red in places from the residue of its power.
Madam Cold Fang blocked, countered, and attacked relentlessly, but it was clear that holding the spirit still would not be easy.
Seeing this, Han Yu made another decision.
He raised his hand, his fingers gathering Soul Qi.
"Soul Needle."
More than twenty invisible needles of condensed soul Qi shot forward, tearing through the air without sound.
SHUA SHUA SHUA.
Being a form of soul, the spirit felt them clearly.
It twisted wildly, but it could not fully avoid them.
"YOU!" it roared.
SHICK SHICK
Two needles struck true.
One pierced near its collarbone. Another struck near its navel, right where the boundary between its physical upper body and mist lower body lay.
The spirit convulsed.
Its blood mist surged erratically, its movements turning stiff and disordered.
It was stunned.
"NOW!" Han Yu shouted.
Madam Cold Fang did not hesitate.
"Frozen Tomb of Boreas!"
HUALA
She spread her arms, and a massive sphere of cold energy formed around the spirit. Images of the bearded ice giant Boreas appeared on its surface, pressing inward from all sides.
The sphere solidified, turning into a giant prison of ice that trapped the spirit inside.
Han Yu was already moving.
He raised both palms and slashed outward.
"Emotion Severing Slash!"
SHING SHING
Two shimmering blades crossed through the air in an X shape, cutting straight through the trapped spirit.
The result was horrifying.
The spirit screamed as its head and a large part of its torso were sliced away in a V shaped cut.
Its head slammed to the back of the sphere before breaking out of the ice sphere and slammed into the ground, cracking stone beneath it.
The blood mist inside the sphere dispersed wildly.
Han Yu stared. "Is it dead?"
"Not yet," Madam Cold Fang said calmly. She could still feel its presence.
They descended to the ground.
The severed head was already changing.
Red mist began to pour out of it, forming the vague shape of shoulders and a chest.
Madam Cold Fang frowned. "It still has enough energy to regenerate."
Han Yu clenched his teeth. "Hold it in place."
She did not question him.
She thrust her hand forward, launching several massive ice spikes that pierced through the head and the half formed body, pinning it to the ground.
The forming mist struggled but could not move.
"CURSE YOU!" the spirit roared, its voice full of hatred and fear. "I will drag your souls into endless night!"
Han Yu stepped forward.
The spirit looked at him.
For the first time, it felt fear.
HUMM
Han Yu’s eyes changed.
They turned violet, with red ripples spreading within them like blood in water.
"Soul Petrifying Glare," he whispered.
His gaze pierced straight into the spirit’s soul.
The world seemed to still.
The spirit’s expression froze.
Its roar died in its throat.
The red mist stopped moving. The regeneration halted completely.
Madam Cold Fang felt it instantly.
"It has turned physical," she said, sensing the change.
She did not waste time.
A massive hammer of ice formed in her hand, heavy and brutal.
She swung it down with all her strength.
BOOM!!!
SPLAT~
The spirit’s head and half formed body were smashed into paste, blood and dark matter splattering across the frozen ground. 𝓯𝙧𝙚𝒆𝙬𝙚𝒃𝙣𝙤𝒗𝓮𝓵.𝙘𝙤𝙢
But Han Yu was not done.
SHUA
He raised his hand, flames bursting forth.
Blood Flames roared as he used the Dancing Flame Art to weave them into a controlled inferno.
He burned every trace of the corpse.
Flesh, mist, blood, and residue all turned to ash.
Only when nothing remained did he finally stop.
The battlefield fell silent.
Snow drifted down gently over broken mountains and scorched stone.
Han Yu stood there, breathing heavily, his body shaking from exhaustion.
Madam Cold Fang looked at the empty ground where the spirit had been.
"It is finished," she said.
Han Yu let out a long breath.
"Good," he muttered. "I was really starting to hate that thing."
Han Yu kept on staring at the burned spot for a few seconds, as if still wary that the Evil Mountain Spirit might just come back alive. It was only when Madam Cold Fang spoke again that he believed it.
"He’s truly dead now." Madam Cold Fang stated.
"Truly a stubborn bastard." Han Yu uttered before looking at Madam Cold Fang. "And it seemed like you knew him well." He added.
"I do." Madam Cold Fang gave a nod. "I was the one who killed him the first time after all."
"So you weren’t just taunting him." Han Yu raised a brow. "Who was he exactly?" he had been curious.
After all, for a spirit as strong as him to be born was not easy. When he had been alive, he had to have been quite strong.
"He was Danqing Xun... A High Elder of the Slaughtered Moon Divine Blood Sect." Madam Cold Fang replied, much to Han Yu’s shock. "Your sect," she said as if fishing for a reaction.
Han Yu was left speechless for a few seconds, as if trying to wrap his head around all this.
