Chapter 1310: Chapter 1310: If I Win, You’re Mine

Willow Crawford checked the time, Miles Linden was definitely going to be late.

He knew about the exam competition today, he would definitely come, he wasn’t afraid, certainly not a coward.

But everyone was already gossiping,

"Look, Miles Linden’s seat is empty, he didn’t come!"

"What’s so surprising about that? He must be scared, afraid he’d lose miserably, so he fled."

"The principal originally gave the only spot in the digital programming competition to Miles Linden, but it didn’t convince anyone. This time, they’ll surely choose someone else. Freddy will represent us."

Willow Crawford furrowed her elegant brows.

Just then, the "ding" of the exam bell sounded, the first exam began, starting with mathematics.

Miles Linden still hadn’t come.

"We will now distribute the exam papers, please answer them carefully," the invigilator reminded everyone.

Willow Crawford looked at Miles Linden’s seat, it was empty, and even after an hour when the math exam ended, Miles Linden hadn’t come.

He perfectly missed the math exam.

"Willow, this math exam was so hard! I heard rumors that this joint eight prestigious schools exam was going to be very challenging. Out of the 150 points, I don’t think I can even score 100. I couldn’t solve either of the last two advanced thinking questions," Rachel Underwood lamented.

This math exam was indeed difficult, and since Willow Crawford was already struggling with her weaknesses, she didn’t do well either. More importantly, she kept thinking about Miles Linden.

Why hasn’t Miles Linden come?

What is he doing?

Does he really not want to compete anymore?

"Willow Crawford," Freddy swaggered over, quite pleased with himself, "I heard Miles Linden didn’t come to the exam. I really didn’t expect him to be such a coward."

Willow Crawford looked at Freddy, "He’s not."

Freddy knew that Willow Crawford would stand up for Miles Linden. It seemed as though Miles had cast a spell on her, making her infatuated.

"Willow Crawford, you probably don’t know, but we have a bet. The bet involves you. Whoever wins the competition gets you; it looks like Miles has given up on the competition and you," Freddy laughed.

Willow Crawford was getting more and more annoyed with Freddy and didn’t want to deal with him anymore, "You’re ridiculous, I don’t belong to anyone, I only belong to myself."

With that, Willow Crawford turned and walked away.

"Willow Crawford!" Freddy grabbed Willow’s slender wrist.

In the past, Miles Linden had also grabbed her wrist and even held her hand. But she felt no aversion back then. Now, being grabbed by Freddy made Willow particularly repulsed; she couldn’t accept his touch.

"Freddy, let go of me!" Willow forcibly shook him off.

"Willow Crawford, why do you like Miles Linden? What’s good about him? He’s a poor boy with a dark past. What can he offer you?" Freddy, still agitated, grabbed Willow again.

Willow’s bright little face turned completely cold; she wanted to speak, but then she heard a low, cold voice in her ear, "Let her go!"

Willow turned her head and saw Miles Linden had come.

He finally came!

She knew he would come!

"Miles!" Willow’s eyes lit up.

Freddy was stunned; he didn’t expect Miles Linden to come, especially after arranging for someone to stop him.

Miles wore a white school-style shirt, his fringed bangs covering his chilly and gloomy phoenix eyes. Though his handsome face was bruised, it didn’t diminish his charm; instead, it added a touch of wildness.

Miles strode forward, his sharp gaze scanning the hand Freddy was gripping on Willow’s wrist, then he lifted his thin lips, "Let her go."

He said it twice.

"Mi... Miles, how did you get here..." Freddy stammered.

Miles glanced at Freddy; having just fought, his aggressive aura hadn’t dispersed, "I don’t like repeating myself a third time. If you don’t let go, you’ll end up like those people you hired, in the hospital."

He... knew?

Freddy instinctively released his grip.

At this moment, Miles extended his well-defined fingers, grasping Willow’s small hand, gently pulling her into his arms.

Willow stood up straight, feeling Miles’s arm wrap around her soft, slender waist, gently holding her.

Willow had read in a magazine that when a man wraps his arm around a woman’s waist, it is a blatant assertion of possession and declaration.

He was declaring that she was his.

Miles held Willow tightly and walked away; as they left, he bumped Freddy lightly, whispering, "Better watch yourself."

Freddy was about to explode; Miles Linden was just too insolent.

But Freddy also felt a bit apprehensive, sensing that Miles Linden wasn’t as straightforward as he seemed. A poor boy who managed to escape unscathed from the Barnes family’s powerful clutches four years ago and could hide his sister well despite Ethan Barnes’s meticulous hunt, and who step by step captured the heart of Princess Willow Crawford, seemed terrifying upon closer thought, sending chills down one’s spine.

Miles Linden seemed to hold many secrets.

"Miles Linden, even if you’re here, it doesn’t matter. You’ve already missed the math exam, I’ve won this match, and you’ve lost!" Freddy yelled.

But Miles didn’t stop; he continued to leave with Willow.

...

Willow looked at Miles’s injuries, "Miles, how did you get hurt, let me see."

She reached up, gently touching Miles’s wound, "Was it Freddy who sent people after you? He’s scared you’ll beat him in the exam, so he sent people to attack you. It’s so despicable! I’m going to confront him now!"

"Willow." Miles grabbed her small hand.

Her hand was small and silky, as soft as if it had no bones, and Miles gently pulled it into his palm, giving it a squeeze, "This is something between men. I don’t need you to protect me, otherwise, I’d feel like your kept lover."

Willow’s face flushed suddenly, she quickly withdrew her small hand, "What kept lover, don’t say such things!"

Miles curled his lips, "Let’s go, the second exam is about to start."

"Miles, you’ve already missed the math exam, there’s no hope of winning the competition this time." Willow’s eyes looked disheartened.

Miles didn’t speak, just stared at her.

"What are you looking at?" Willow asked, puzzled.

Then Miles suddenly stepped forward, closing in on her.

His gaze at that moment was very invasive, like a meticulous hunter eyeing his tasty prey, advancing step by step.

Instinctively, Willow moved backward until she hit the wall and had nowhere to retreat.

Then Miles’s tall and handsome figure pressed over her, "Willow, if I win, will you be mine, okay?"
