After that day, Gray and Luna didn’t meet again in person. Life pulled them back to their own work. But every now and then, Gray’s phone would buzz with her name flashing on the screen.

Sometimes she would call him all of a sudden, then there were also a few times where she would message him and ask how things were. But still, their conversations were never long.

At the same time, things with Selina and Gray had grown warmer, too. She would visit their unit regularly now. Every Saturday and Sunday morning, she would come by with a smile and sit down for breakfast with him and Lily.

The dining table, which used to be a place for quick meals, turned into an hour-long meal.

Selina always seemed to be at ease in their home. However, Lily’s favorite was when she would bring some desserts or sweet treats every time, just like today.

It was Sunday, and the three of them were having dinner together. The dining table was full. There was soup, rice, grilled meat, and a small box of pastries that Selina had brought along.

Lily was the happiest. Her fork was already poking at one of the desserts even though she hadn’t finished her meal yet.

"Sister Selina, these are so good!" she muttered in a bright voice as she stuffed her mouth with a forkful of cake.

Selina laughed softly, covering her lips with her hand.

"Careful, Lily. Don’t talk while eating. But I’m glad you like it."

Gray watched the two of them from his side of the table, sipping from his glass of water. The way Lily smiled so freely at Selina made him smile too. Lily was really happy whenever she was with her.

"You’re spoiling her, Selina," Gray finally said, his tone slightly teasing.

Selina raised an eyebrow, looking at him back with the same teasing eyes.

"And you’re not? You give her anything she asks for, Gray." He

Lily giggled, nodding quickly in agreement.

"She’s right, brother! You’re the one who spoils me the most!"

Gray sighed and shook his head, but a small smile slowly appeared at his lips. He couldn’t deny it because it was the truth. He was indeed the person who spoils her the most.

"Alright, alright. I won’t fight anymore. Just continue it."

"Hehehe!" Lily just giggled again before eating again. She was eating some grilled meat, then would go back to the cake again after a bite. It was as if she wanted to eat both sides of the world.

"So, Lily, how’s school these days? Are your classes treating you well?" Selina set her fork down for a moment and leaned a little closer to Lily.

Gray glanced at his sister too, curious to hear her answer.

Lily quickly straightened her back, her cheeks puffed out with food, before she hurried to chew and swallow it.

"It’s been great, brother!" she said with a bright grin, answering Gray first before turning to Selina. "Sister Selina, I got a perfect score in our last quiz, and my teacher even said I’ve been improving a lot!"

"That’s good to hear," Gray muttered with a small nod, his voice carrying genuine happiness over it.

Lily’s eyes lit up even more as she continued, almost bouncing in her seat.

"And—and! I joined a small group project last week! We had to present in front of the class. I was really nervous at first, but I did it! I didn’t forget any of my lines, Sister Selina!."

Selina clapped lightly, smiling at her.

"That’s amazing, Lily. See? You’re getting more confident."

"Mm-hmm!" Lily beamed, clearly enjoying the attention. "And my seatmate said I was really good at explaining things and that I talk a lot. She even asked me to help her study for the next test."

Gray leaned his chin on his hand, watching her gestures as she spoke. She was growing up little by little, and it was starting to show.

"You’ve been working hard," he said softly. "Keep it up. I’m proud of you."

Lily’s cheeks flushed pink, and she looked down at her plate with a shy smile.

"Thanks, brother..."

Selina reached out and gently patted Lily’s head, her expression warm. "Your brother’s right. You should be proud of yourself, too, Lily. You really did a good job. Sister Selina is proud of you too."

"Really, Sister?" Lily’s eyes sparkled at that. She grinned again, chewing happily on another bite of cake.

Her enormous energy filled the whole unit.

Lily suddenly paused mid-bite, her eyes flickering between Gray and Selina with a mischievous glint.

"Right... don’t I deserve a reward for that, brother? Sister Selina?"

Gray raised an eyebrow, leaning back slightly in his chair. Selina, on the other hand, chuckled softly at Lily’s sudden request.

Both of them ended up exchanging a glance before answering almost at the same time.

"Yes, Lily," they said in unison as if they knew it was the only answer that Lily would accept.

Lily’s grin widened, her fork clinking softly against the plate as she set it down.

"Then... then I want us to have a sleepover!"

"A sleepover?" Gray repeated, blinking.

"Mm-hm!" Lily nodded eagerly, her eyes sparkling. "Like... we stay up late, watch movies, play games, eat snacks, and talk until we fall asleep! Just the three of us!"

Gray let out a small sigh, though his lips were already curving into a faint smile. He couldn’t even remember the last time Lily had asked for something so simple yet so full of excitement.

"You really don’t run out of ideas, do you?"

"Nope!" Lily beamed, leaning closer across the table. "So, can we do it? Please, brother?"

Gray glanced once at Selina, who gave him a small smile and an encouraging nod.

He exhaled in defeat, though warmth spread quietly through his chest.

"Alright, Lily. We’ll have a sleepover."

"Yes!" Lily threw her arms up in triumph, almost knocking over her glass. "Best reward ever!"

Selina laughed again, shaking her head as she reached out to steady Lily’s cup. Gray just watched them with quiet amusement. However, his heart felt quite uneasy at the moment...

As if he was expecting something more than a sleepover.
