Sumatra's Greatest Fan-Chapter 81: Sumatra’s Brat
Mohtr Island!
It was one of the larger islands situated in the Dralh Sea, spanning an area of 90 square kilometres. A total of 20,000 Free Humans lived on the island, primarily in charge of collecting a certain type of moss that grew only in the underground caves beneath the island.
This moss was a good ingredient in the creation of an Elixir, and hence, the island was attached with great importance.
Stationed to control the island was a decently older Mystic Human who had progressed pretty extensively through the Body stage.
Mystic Humans were a new race that had popped up in the previous century. So, Life Stage cultivators were too few among them.
Thankfully, that didn’t matter much, for every Mystic Human was a Gold Grade existence. And their combination of Pranic Beast bodies allowed them to be experts in wars of attrition, making them extremely suited to thrive on the Dralh Sea.
The Mystic Human in charge of Mohtr Island was a woman named Plikara. Currently, she was residing within the mansion built for her in the island’s centre. Residing would be wrong, as she was currently held captive.
In an underground room, crawled over a thousand Ewworms, filling the place to the brim. The wriggled as disgustingly as possible, grinding over like the blades of an industrial crusher. Flashes of crimson radiance seeped out through the gaps from time to time, but every sequential flash grew weaker and weaker.
The room’s inner walls were actually layered by a Narlakk, generating a thick cloud of pollen to target the individual within. The Ewworms were fully controlled by this pollen, as they consumed the Mystic Human trapped within and began to grow a crimson tool on the ends of their tails.
This crimson tool was capable of unleashing a beam of light with enough force to affect solids. All the crimson tools created by these Ewworms had targeted the centre of the room with their crimson radiances, completely pressuring the Mystic Human within.
Plikara wasn’t dead. Instead, she was resisting pretty well, often to the bewilderment of the Narlakk who was acting as a container to trap her within.
[Progress?]
A Narlakk arrived before the entrance to the underground room, using a thick cloud of pollen to carry hundreds of squirming Ewworms. It had assumed a humanoid form, thanks to absorbing pollen from Free Humans. It had only done so for ease of convenience in walking through the mansion.
Its humanoid form wasn’t in the slightest close to a Free Human in terms of appearance. Just the body structure matched, which was enough, as it was just a form created by absorbing the minimal most pollen from a couple Free Humans.
There was silence for a few seconds before the Narlakk serving as the container responded, with a slightly dispirited voice.
[She’s resisting. I’ve successfully contained her, but killing her doesn’t seem possible yet.]
The humanoid Narlakk dumped the Ewworms in its possession into the container and spoke without a hint of concern.
[It’s just a matter of time before she dies. All you need to ensure is that she doesn’t break free. If she were to do so, our actions will be discovered by the Mystic Human Council.]
There was just a faint stirrup in the container’s presence, displaying it understood its purpose.
[I’ll bring more Ewworms in an hour.]
Saying so, the humanoid Narlakk exited the mansion and casually strolled through the Settlement without any concern, as the Free Humans on the island were already under its influence.
Narlakks ensured the Free Humans weren’t targeted by their pollen, same from their subordinates, the Nirclicks. This was to avoid lessening the chances for a Free Human to become a Mystic Human.
Since the success rate was pretty abysmal, it was pretty much like hitting a lottery. Even with a population of 20,000 like on Mohtr Island, not a single Mystic Human had been produced.
To avoid crippling the population, the Mystic Human Council, the group responsible for the Mystic Humans and in control of the Dralh Sea, performed various inspections and only selected the Free Humans with the highest chances of becoming a Mystic Human.
Rest of the Free Humans lived ordinary lives, with no chance of learning about Mystic Nature Art. Only the selected Free Humans were provided with the cultivation technique.
And they all died within a year. But since Mohtr Island successfully produced a Mystic Human, the Narlakks no longer had to be shy in dominating the island. This was done to ensure information about the Mystic Human’s birth wouldn’t be leaked to the outside world.
Care had to be taken, for the Mystic Human Council had the means to converse with all the Pranic Beasts native to the Dralh Sea. Since Pranic Beasts gathered upon the island during the Death Hour, if even a single one of them were to discover the birth of a new Mystic Human, the Mystic Human Council would become aware in a matter of days.
Hence, all the Free Humans on Mohtr Island were under the humanoid Narlakk’s control. It also paid attention to gaining control over all the Pranic Beasts that gathered on the island during the Death Hour and used them to prevent any Gold Grade Pranic Beast from appearing on the island.
Gold Grade Pranic Beasts typically stayed within the Dralh Sea, even during the Death Hour, as they would occupy safe spots within the sea and avoid moving to the islands. But to avoid taking any chances, the Narlakk made some measures.
’The plan’s going well.’ It thought while strolling about on the island, ’In a few more days...’
Suddenly, it found itself sinking into the ground, as if pulled in by an unavoidable force. There wasn’t even a single fluctuation in the soil on the ground, appearing no different from before. 𝗳𝐫𝚎𝗲𝚠𝚎𝗯𝕟𝐨𝘃𝚎𝗹.𝗰𝗼𝗺
However, the Narlakk had indeed sunk through the ground.
Stunned, it tried to break free, hurriedly releasing its pollen to realise it was now trapped within a hollow space in bedrock. The space was barely a dozen metres wide, pretty spacious when compared to its body size.
However, the existence of the foreign party in this space made it feel cramped. As the humanoid Narlakk’s pollen filled the darkness of the space, the other party’s figure was outlined in its mind. And that stunned it, "S-Sna..."
"Snapper?" It shrieked in human voice, staring face to face with an Empyrean Snapper, ’It’s just a baby Snapper! Thank goodness, I was afraid for a moment.’
"I never thought an Empyrean Snapper could be this proactive..." Just as the Narlakk began to talk smack, a hole appeared beneath, and gushing out was steam hot enough to melt through steel.
The various minerals dissolved in the steam caused it to radiate heat and light, appearing like lava as it slammed into the Narlakk and rapidly melted through the other party, eliciting screams from the Narlakk.
’Screams?’ The Narlakk was stunned, having never heard its voice shrilling as such, ’I cam screaming? Me? I don’t even have the pain receptors necessary to do so!’
"GRAHHH!" The Narlakk screamed in horror and eyed the baby Empyrean Snapper in terror, "W-What have you done to me?"
"Don’t worry about it," It was Torq, having assumed his Empyrean Snapper form once a new day had started by the time he could reach Mohtr Island. Eyes seething in rage, he began to burn through the Narlakk’s body, "I am only venting my frustrations upon you."
"Oh, wait," He lashed his head into the ceiling once, as if admonishing himself lightly for the committed mistake. The Empyrean Snapper head eyed the Narlakk and cursed, "You fucks are the source of my frustration."
"A mere baby Empyrean Snapper thinks it can face me...GRAHHH!" The Narlakk’s attacks were casually destroyed by the geothermal phenomenon that occurred at the place. All Torq did was pull in the steam that already existed in the place.
By hardly using any power of his own, he was rapidly destroying the other party, "I might be a baby Empyrean Snapper. However, remember that this is the Dralh Sea."
"My kind is strong here!" He uttered as the space within the bedrock flashed once, like it was filled to the brim with plasma. Not a single trace of the Narlakk remained behind. And a few seconds later, Torq had already reached the surface.
Primary Nature–Subtle Terrain Domination!
He had sustained plenty of injuries, but nothing life threatening thanks to his level of control over the terrain. As the injuries healed in a matter of seconds, he dived into the ground once again, treating it as if it were water as his figure rapidly moved into the depths and quickly reached the tunnel within the mine where the newly born Mystic Human was held captive.
Before barging into the place, Torq relied on his Subtle Terrain Domination to scout the surroundings, which is when he noticed an entity calmly seated before the newly born Mystic Human. It was a peacock, surrounded by a pillar of light.
"Thank you," The peacock stared through Torq’s hiding spot, "You appearing here has confirmed my suspicions."
"I’ve found your next vessel, Sumatra’s Brat." A glance at the peacock and Torq instinctively began his plan to regress the timeline.
For Nusantara’s Celestial had made its appearance!
