Summoned and Unwanted-Chapter 762 - I will take you down in my next combo
762 I will take you down in my next combo
Ester flipped backward multiple times. In her previous location, an earth spike rose from the ground.
Ester landed on her feet. With a curious gaze, she wondered if the bear could not keep multitasking. Her gut feeling made her think the bear had a delayed reaction because of Awa and Night’s constant attacks.
Ester also wondered how she could take advantage of the delayed reaction. Or at least until the bear chose Ester as its prime target, and the attacks stopped being made with delays.
Ester spun her sword with her fingers. She moved her arms and stepped in a pattern. Each step was elegant, and the more a person looked at the steps, the more emotions they felt and recalled.
The audience looking at Ester, became captivated by her blade dance. Those who were angry about the Lionheart team not losing as they expected and betted against them suddenly relaxed their facial expression and started to enjoy the short blade dance.
Ester leaned, tilted, and even slightly shook her hips. The more Ester performed, the brighter the wind sigil tattoos on her body became.
Additionally, as the wind began to collect and swirl around her body, the audience started blinking their eyes at a slower rate, not to miss a detail.
“Ho Ho. My granddaughter is braver than I expected. She is doing a blade dance in front of her enemy.” Luciano said excitedly with a grin on his face.
Ester reminded Luciano about his past. About when he watched her mother and her aunt perform a blade dance for the higher nobles without caring whose eyes were looking at them and what the people enjoying the show had in their minds.
.....
“I saw Lady Ester train, and I can say that there is a better dancer than her. ” Anna said with a pleasant voice and a cheerful smile on her face. She was enjoying Ester’s blade dance.
“Normal dancing can not beat dancing performed like an art piece. The eyes can be deceiving, though. I can sense wind mana gathering around her.” Karta explained.
“But why is she dancing with so much care put into her every movement?” The king questioned. He could not understand why a person would dance in a dangerous place while charging for an attack.
“Ho Ho. We meditate to feel relaxed and allow our bodies to interact with the mana around us better than when we are tense or not in our best state of mind.” Luciano responded.
He smiled warmly while looking at Ester and added, “This means dancing is as relaxing as meditating to my granddaughter.”
Ester tossed Elsir and Elsie in the air. From certain angles, the audience could see a half-white and half-black circle spinning in the air.
Ester performed an illusion turn. As she completed half of the illusion turn, the falling spinning swords were caught with her fingers. When her foot landed on the ground, two wind sigils expanded under her feet.
Ester jumped high than she normally could. The wind blew from under her feet. The gust of wind, allowing her to reach more height, created a one-inch hole in the ground.
Step after the other, gusts of wind fiercely blew downward while lifting the light Ester higher with every step she took. From a distance, some of the audience felt like they were watching a person climb invisible stairs.
The more steps Ester took, the more she got used to the movement and the quicker she moved upward. From walking up invisible stairs, Ester didn’t take a lot of steps to start running up the invisible stairs.
Ester moved her gaze to her left after sensing danger, yet her expression remained calm, as if she was in a trance. As if she was focused on her blade dance with all her body and soul.
Multiple earth shard projectiles traveled toward Ester. Yet that was not all she had to worry about. Her eyes moved to the right, and Multiple earth shard projectiles were also heading her way.
Any ordinary none flying person would be in danger at this moment. They would be helpless in mid-air, where they did not have a footing. However, Ester was not fazed.
Ester stopped climbing higher in the sky. She raised her toes on one leg and raised her knee of the other leg.
The moment Ester started spinning like a ballerina and reached one spin, she let go of her swords.
Elsir spun horizontally toward the projectiles on the right side. The moment both forces made contact, a forceful gust of wind burst from the shining blade, causing a few of the projectiles to get destroyed and the rest to alter their trajectory.
Elsie spun horizontally toward the projectiles on the left side. All the projectiles in the dark blade’s path had the little mana giving them shape slowly absorbed. As their composition was starting to become more brittle, it took only the initial contact to break the projectiles.
However, this meant the projectiles Elsie did not slash kept flying uninterrupted.
Brittle projectiles from the left side and a few projectiles from the right side reached Ester. The audience could not know if she was going to be safe or if she was about to get impaled.
In front of the two knees of the towering bear was Ester, spinning. The more she spun, the faster she spun further.
Around her body was a layer of wind spinning alongside her. From a distance, the audience could see Ester spinning in a bubble of wind. It was similar to a wind dome, yet it was too small.
The projectiles reached Ester. The projectiles from the left side crumbled instantly, while the projectiles from the right side broke a quarter of the length while getting knocked away.
The two spinning swords returned to Ester, yet she did not stop spinning. She shot from the small pocket ball of destructive wind and reached the knee of the bear in the blink of an eye.
The two blades cut the earth spikes protruding from the body with ease. Next was the hardened fur. It took a couple of spins to get sliced. As the blades reached the hardened flesh of the bear, Ester stopped spinning and backed away.
Multiple large earth spikes emerged from the ground. Each one of them impaled the bear’s leg. It was obviously painful to get impaled, yet the beat didn’t show a hint of an expression.
“Ladies and gentlemen! I am supposed to comment on the judgment by combat, yet I am at a loss for words. The towering grizzly bear familiar has implied itself. If it gets out of implement, it will profusely bleed and possibly fall.”
Darwin looked at the status window of the bear after perceiving the bear was acting stranger than before. A deep frown appeared on his face the moment he saw the truth.
“The longer that monster is showing signs of the mutation debuff, the more it is becoming mindless, reckless, and aggressive to the point of attacking anyone annoying it at the moment. The fight is similar to watching adventurers fighting a demonic beast.” Mumured Darwin while peeking at the representative who was nervously sweating.
Ester skipped while using the wind sigils to remain in mid-air. She had no fear of using too much mana after Elsie fed her an abundant amount of mana.
Awa and Night latched a shadow line, one on the bear’s jaw and the other at the back of the bear’s head. After kicking backward at the same time with all the might they could muster, both shot their bodies and forward.
The bear was currently swinging its paw to splatter Ester to the ground. As the bear was in the middle of attacking Ester, in front of its eyes appeared Night for a brief moment.
The large pair of eyes moved to look at Night moving in front of its head. A brief moment later, its head moved in Night’s direction.
*Snap* The towering grizzly bear’s head made a loud sound. It was the sound of victory for Ester, Awa, and Night while the loss of the bear, or so they and the audience believed.
Awa and Night landed on the ground. They became thrilled to have killed a monster similar to the one they despised.
However, their emotions could not remain optimistic for more than a second. *Snap* They saw the bear move its head to Ester and snap its head back to position as if it was just a scratch.
Ester understood the paw about to reach her was not going to stop. She held Elsir firmly and thrust the shining blade down. The wind it created pushed Ester upwards and allowed her to avoid the paw swinging at her by a few inches.
While Ester was contorting her body in mid-air to avoid the large paw, she noticed Awa and Night standing beside each other. She wondered what the two were up to now.
Awa and Night raised their legs at the same time and shot a shadow line into the paw that just missed hitting Ester. A brief second later, they kicked backward like a trigger and shot their bodies with great speed.
*Bam!* Both landed a mighty kick at the back of the bear’s paw. Although the damage they inflicted was not enough to provide an advantage, the bear’s paw was slammed on its chest, and the claws dug deep inside its hardened mutated flesh.
Ester’s eyes widened, and her mind started thinking about a way to inflict damage. A slight smirk appeared on her face. She had a plan to test next in her mind.
