Super Rich from Winning a Lottery-Chapter 392 - 263: Holding a Grand Wedding Ceremony (Part 2)
"Even if he doesn’t have what it takes to conquer a kingdom, he at least has to be able to hold on to it."
When Yi Anguo heard Guo Aihua say that, he suddenly didn’t know what he was supposed to say.
Yi Anguo had never decided early on that he would have his eldest son, Guo Sian, inherit his company and his career.
In his mind, Guo Sian already had the Fuhua Group in Singapore to inherit, so he had never thought of handing over his seven major groups under his own name to him as well.
And Guo Sian wasn’t his only son; he had so many other sons and daughters. He couldn’t possibly leave nothing of the family property to the others, right!
But Yi Anguo also knew that the businesses under his name couldn’t be split up too much. He still had to mainly choose one person to inherit them, to lead these companies to keep developing and to grow better and better.
But who that person should be, no one would know until the very end; even he, Yi Anguo, had no idea which one he would choose when the time came.
However, Guo Aihua didn’t know that Yi Anguo had many other children. In her heart she had always thought that Yi Anguo had been waiting for her, that he was still single and unmarried even now. How could there possibly be other women and children?
Yi Anguo had always wanted to come clean; he’d never meant to hide it from Guo Aihua, he just hadn’t been able to find the right opportunity all this time.
Yi Anguo was really worried that once he confessed, Guo Aihua wouldn’t be able to accept it. After all, she had waited for him bitterly for eighteen years.
Once she learned the truth, and that truth was extremely cruel to her, that wasn’t an outcome Yi Anguo wanted to see!
Yi Anguo also didn’t want their family of three, who had only just finally reunited, to immediately be faced with falling apart again.
He didn’t want Guo Aihua and his son, Guo Sian, to be very disappointed in him, even to the point of despair. He also didn’t want to lose, once again, the lover and son he had finally gotten back, watching them disappear from in front of him.
Precisely because of all these complicated thoughts and feelings, Yi Anguo had chosen again and again to keep it hidden, not daring to tell Guo Aihua the truth.
Yi Anguo himself had no idea how much longer he could keep this hidden. Maybe tomorrow, or maybe the day after, the whole thing would be exposed and Guo Aihua and her son would learn the truth.
But there was nothing else he could do. All he could do was drag it out one day at a time; as long as he could keep it from them for one more day, he would.
"Yisi’an is our son. He’s inherited our genes—how could he not have a head for business?" Yi Anguo said with a smile.
"So you don’t need to worry about him. He’ll definitely become a qualified heir in the future, someone who can lead the Fuhua Group to a whole new level."
"The Fuhua Group is the easy part. Its business is relatively simple, mainly the Fuhua chain of hotels. Even though it’s involved in other industries, it’s not very deep." Guo Aihua said.
"What I’m really worried about are the companies under your name. They’re spread across all kinds of industries and are extremely complicated. I’m worried about whether he can really handle it, whether he can be a good successor and take over the burden on your shoulders."
"All of that is your hard‑won family fortune. If he can’t do his job as your heir, if he can’t make these businesses you’ve fought for develop even better, then what are we supposed to do?"
"By then you’ll definitely be very disappointed in him. That’s why I suggested he come to the mainland to follow you and learn, to get familiar with how those businesses under your control operate as early as possible."
Yi Anguo said with a wry smile, "Aren’t you being a bit too anxious? Whether it’s you or me, we’re both still very young. Even if Si An wants to take over our careers, it’s still early. He has plenty of time to learn."
"Even if we retire at sixty, we still have more than twenty years, don’t we?"
Guo Aihua smiled and said, "I don’t want the two of us to wait until sixty to retire. By then we’ll already be old; we won’t even be able to walk anywhere."
"I hope the two of us can retire a bit earlier. That way we’ll still have time to travel all over the world together, to go everywhere and look around, as a way of making up for our regret of not being together all these years."
"Aren’t young people all into going on honeymoons these days?"
"When the time comes, we’ll make up for it with a grand wedding, and then we’ll go on our honeymoon and travel all over the world, circle the globe."
"It’s just that our honeymoon will last a bit longer—maybe a few years, maybe a few decades—until we really can’t walk anymore. Then we’ll find a place with beautiful scenery, facing the sea with spring blossoms, and spend our later years there together."
After hearing what Guo Aihua said, Yi Anguo couldn’t help feeling extremely tempted.
Only, when he thought about how she wasn’t the only woman by his side, and that he didn’t have just one son, Guo Sian...
And a lot of his children were still very young. It would take a long time for them to grow up; that wouldn’t happen so soon!
And there was no way Yi An could just take one woman, Guo Aihua, to travel around the world. If he was going to take anyone, he should be taking a whole group of women around the world with him.
But if it really came to that, Guo Aihua would probably be the first one to object.
So all those happy scenes Guo Aihua described could probably only exist in Yi Anguo’s imagination.
"All right! When we’re so old that all our teeth have fallen out and we can’t go anywhere, we’ll find a beautiful place to settle down, facing the sea, with spring blossoms, and spend our old age together." Yi Anguo agreed readily.
"It’s just that when people get old, their bodies start having problems. What do we do if we get sick? Won’t we still need our son to look after us and support us in our old age?"
"We can hire professional caregivers and private doctors just to take care of us, and buy the most advanced medical testing equipment. It’s not like we don’t have money. As long as we have money, even if our son isn’t by our side taking care of us, are we really going to be afraid we can’t hire anyone?" Guo Aihua said.
"Having a son is great, but he’ll still be busy taking care of the company’s business. It’s fine for him to come see us and look after us once in a while, but to keep him by our side long‑term to take care of us—how would that work?"
"No matter how filial our son is, he can’t possibly take care of us more thoroughly than professional caregivers and doctors."
"You! You’re only in your thirties and you’re already thinking about what’ll happen decades later when we’re too old to walk. I really don’t know what to say about you." Yi Anguo said with a helpless wry smile.
"As the saying goes, ’If a man has no long‑term worries, he’ll soon have near‑term troubles.’ What’s wrong with making plans early?" Guo Aihua said.
"Back then we had just fallen in love and then were separated for eighteen long years. You have no idea how I got through them. For eighteen years I dreamed countless times about what it would be like when we met again."
"Now that we’ve finally managed to see each other again, don’t you want to make up for the regret of us being apart these eighteen years?"
"So I think we can give our son at most ten more years. After he finishes university, he can go to America for graduate school and a PhD, and once he’s done with his studies, he’ll come back right away to take over our careers."
"That way, we’ll have the time to be together day in and day out. At that point, if we don’t spend every day traveling the world, what else are we going to do?"
"We can’t just stay home every day, eating and then sleeping, and sleeping and then eating."
Yi Anguo quickly surrendered and said, "Okay, okay, okay, you’re right about everything. But isn’t there still ten whole years to go? You really don’t need to be this anxious."
Guo Aihua said, "Retirement is indeed still a long way off. But when are we actually going to get married and hold a grand wedding ceremony? We don’t need to keep waiting on that, do we? Are we really going to wait until we’re old to get married and have a big wedding?"
