Chapter 2143: Chapter 2206: That Alluring Wink

"Wait a second." Wu Shuwei just turned around and Li Yifei spoke, so she had to turn back and look at Li Yifei, a bit puzzled.

Li Yifei raised his hand and wiped Wu Shuwei’s face. She initially wanted to dodge but eventually let Li Yifei’s fingers touch her face.

"It’s nothing, you got something on your face, looks like ink, remember to wash it off when you get back," Li Yifei said casually.

"Oh, okay, I’ll wash it off later." Wu Shuwei felt her face heat up. In front of so many people, Li Yifei’s intimate gesture made her feel a bit shy, especially since they weren’t that kind of relationship.

But she didn’t particularly resist, Wu Shuwei knew she couldn’t stand other men making such intimate gestures, even formalities like handshake in business dealings were uncomfortable for her.

"Alright, off you go, I’m going to clean up this antelope." Li Yifei nodded his chin.

Their conversation was as natural as usual, not saying anything special, but naturally showing a familiarity beyond others. The security guards didn’t think much of it, and those who came with Wu Shuwei from the domestic side, having experienced the Egyptian airport hostage incident, weren’t surprised and saw the interaction as normal. However, a few others saw things differently—over the past few days, they noticed the Chief Lu was interested in Manager Wu, but Manager Wu didn’t pay much attention, and now suddenly, a bodyguard appeared to be this close with Manager Wu. What would Chief Lu do?

Many eyes were on Lu Youx, whose face indeed turned sour; his facial muscles tense, he gritted his teeth, snorted, and said, "Shuwei, I was just talking to him about this. We are in Congo now, where the law doesn’t allow indiscriminate hunting. Your bodyguard killed this antelope which is a protected animal. If the locals find out, the whole company would be in trouble."

Wu Shuwei hadn’t realized it was so serious and gasped, "Is it that serious?"

"Otherwise, why would I reprimand your bodyguard just now? Ignorant and daring to kill an antelope here without any rules!" Lu Youx said, feeling that the intimate interaction between Wu Shuwei and Li Yifei was unbearable, and seized the opportunity to suppress Li Yifei, exaggerating the situation, not believing that Wu Shuwei wouldn’t have any opinion on Li Yifei.

Wu Shuwei’s eyes rolled, and she immediately said, "It’s not that serious, isn’t it? It’s just killing an antelope, and we’re all our own people here. Yifei, don’t kill antelopes next time, it’s not very nice after all."

The first half expressed her opinion, while the latter was lightly spoken to Li Yifei, showing her protective intention.

Li Yifei chuckled, nodded, and said, "Manager Wu, I got it, I won’t kill anymore in the future."

"Mm, alright, you clean up, I’ll go rest first." Wu Shuwei winked at Li Yifei, turned around, and swayed her hips as she left.

Li Yifei chuckled, surprised at Wu Shuwei’s flirtatious wink, feeling almost drunk with delight.

He laughed, Lu Youx’s face darkened, fists clenched, muscles tight. If not for his status, he would have rushed up to beat Li Yifei. But in the end, Lu Youx restrained himself, snorted heavily, glared at Li Yifei, and said, "Well, Li Yifei, playing with me? Just you wait, I’ll get back at you."

After speaking, Lu Youx turned to leave, but Li Yifei casually replied, "Chief Lu, take care of your health, anger harms the body, and I see your forehead is dark, maybe you’re in for a bloody disaster today!"

"You bloody idiot!" Lu Youx turned back to shout, but a few subordinates quickly stopped him, urging, "Chief Lu, cool down, it’s not worth it, it’s not worth it!"

After much difficulty persuading Lu Youx to leave, Li Yifei gave a snicker, flicked his finger, and something flashed by. More than twenty meters away, Lu Youx suddenly felt a sharp pain in his knee as if it suddenly snapped. His body plunged forward, and he exclaimed in surprise. The people walking with him quickly reached out to grab him, but somehow, the force of Lu Youx falling was enormous. Those two people only managed to grab pieces of his shirt, and with a tearing sound, they each ripped a piece of shirt fabric, while Lu Youx directly headbutted the ground, hitting the cement floor.

With a direct thud, half of Lu Youx’s face scraped and bled. The people behind quickly, clumsily pulled him up, but with too much force, Lu Youx felt his arm dislocate with a sharp crack, causing him to cry out in pain, calling out that his arm was dislocated.

After a lot of fuss, they carried Lu Youx off hurriedly to the city for medical attention. Half of his face bled quite a bit, but they could only blame Lu Youx himself for not being careful while walking and suddenly falling. It couldn’t possibly be blamed on Li Yifei, who kindly reminded him to watch out, as everyone heard the warning about the darkened forehead indicating a bloody disaster.

Once they were gone, several security guards gave a thumbs-up to Li Yifei, saying, "Brother Li, your prediction was spot on. You said he’d have a bloody disaster, and the guy fell so hard you wouldn’t even recognize him."

"Not a prediction, it’s face reading!" Li Yifei smiled mysteriously, saying, "I saw he was destined for facial misfortune. It’s a shame he didn’t believe me. Already an ugly face, now it’s even uglier."

"Hahaha!" The security guards immediately burst into laughter. They all knew that if Li Yifei hadn’t stepped up to confront Lu Youx, they might be in trouble today. They might have been the chickens to be made an example of. Chief Lu had been looking for trouble these past few days.

So, the group was very grateful to Li Yifei. Seeing that Lu Youx wouldn’t be back for a while, they quickly grabbed the antelope and said, "Brother Li, let’s deal with this guy first. It’s already killed, not eating it would be a waste."

"Alright, and keep one of the legs. Once you’re done, prepare the materials. Didn’t you hear earlier? Manager Wu from your Huaxia head office is also coming to eat." Li Yifei added, to comfort these security guards. "Don’t worry about Lu Youx, he’s nothing. Manager Wu is much higher ranked than him. If worse comes to worst, I’ll have Manager Wu deal with him."

The security guards lit up with joy. If Manager Wu was coming, then they had nothing to worry about. Even if they were found out, Manager Wu would back them. They nodded repeatedly, cheerfully carrying the antelope away.

Li Yifei rubbed his face, smiled smugly, and quickly returned to his room, took a shower, changed clothes, and went to the place where the security guards were. It was the back kitchen of the cafeteria. Outside the building, the security guards had set up a few lights, propped up with poles, making it quite bright. They had pulled out several tables, and on them were the ingredients they had prepared. Since Manager Wu was coming to eat, they decided to make it a feast. They even brought in a few cafeteria chefs to help prepare the food. After all, it was a great thing for a big leader from the headquarters to eat their barbecue.

When Li Yifei arrived, he smiled and said, "It really feels like an open-air food stall. If we put out a couple more kegs of draft beer, it would feel even more authentic."

"Brother Li, draft beer is too hard to get. We have some bottled beer, but not much. If you want some, I can get it for you."

"What are you guys drinking?" Li Yifei asked.

"We don’t usually drink much, but if we do, we drink white spirit. That stuff gets you going after a couple of sips!" said one of the security guards.

Li Yifei said, "Then white spirit it is, it goes well with barbecue. As for the ladies, drink whatever you like. Prepare some soft drinks and juice!"

"Alright, Brother Li, you go and get Manager Wu. We’ve got this under control, don’t worry," another guard said.

"Okay, I’ll go call her!" Li Yifei checked the time. It had been over an hour and a half. If she was resting, it should be almost enough. So he went to Wu Shuwei’s room and knocked on the door, but heard no response.

Feeling something amiss, Li Yifei realized there was someone in the room, so he took out his phone to call Wu Shuwei. Just as he was about to, he heard a weak voice asking who it was. Li Yifei quickly responded that it was him, to which Wu Shuwei replied, "I... won’t go eat. I’m feeling unwell!"

"Unwell? Let me see, open the door!" Li Yifei knocked again.

After three or four minutes, Wu Shuwei finally opened the door. The lights were off, and she was in her pajamas, her hair down, looking pale and unwell. Seeing her, Li Yifei’s heart tightened. He directly grabbed Wu Shuwei’s hand, feeling it was very hot.

"You’re burning up!" Li Yifei said urgently.

Wu Shuwei felt really unwell. She had felt chills earlier and had gone to bed to cover herself up. When Li Yifei grabbed her hand, she wanted to pull away but lacked the strength.

Li Yifei simply picked up Wu Shuwei, nudged the door shut with his foot, and took a few steps to the bed, gently putting her down.

Wu Shuwei weakly grabbed his shoulder, forgetting to push him away. In fact, she couldn’t even if she wanted to.

Once she was down, Li Yifei pulled the blanket over Wu Shuwei, then held her hand, channeling True Qi into her. This woman had heatstroke, and it was quite severe. She had been working nonstop for days, sometimes staying up late into the night, and the temperature here was very high. Outside, it was hot all night, and the work required air conditioning at low temperatures. The alternation between hot and cold caused the heatstroke.

Luckily, it was caught early. If Li Yifei had gone about his own business, Wu Shuwei might have been in serious trouble. Having been discovered by him, heatstroke was no longer a problem. True Qi circulated through Wu Shuwei’s body, and after several cycles, she completely recovered, even alleviating her fatigue. She felt so comfortable, she wanted to hum a little tune.

Thinking that, she did, closing her mouth and making a comfortable humming sound through her nose, like a little pig, or a small cat, gently purring, expressing her inner contentment.

Seeing her so relaxed, Li Yifei didn’t rush to withdraw the True Qi, continuing to guide it for a while. Once a fine layer of sweat appeared on Wu Shuwei’s skin, Li Yifei stopped and said, "Alright, you’re fine now. Next time if you feel unwell, let me know immediately. Treating you is no trouble at all."
