Chapter 2209 Little Henchman

The two discussed for a while, but in the end, Wu Shuwei couldn’t resist the temptation of intimate contact with the beasts. She decided that if the opportunity arose, she would have Li Yifei catch some other animals, at least to take a photo with them, provided the chance presented itself.

It was getting late; they had been wandering for about an hour. Wu Shuwei had to continue working the next day, so Li Yifei sent her back. In the corridor, Li Yifei leaned against the door and waved to Wu Shuwei, saying, "How’s your stomach?"

"Still... a bit bloated," Wu Shuwei replied.

"Alright, give me five minutes. I’ll give you a little massage to help you digest, so you won’t feel uncomfortable!" Li Yifei extended a hand to her.

Wu Shuwei raised an eyebrow, thinking, what do you mean give me five minutes? If I, Wu Shuwei, want a massage, it’s not like I can’t have one whenever I want!

Li Yifei entered the room, had Wu Shuwei lie down, and he sat on the edge of the bed, started massaging her. He massaged gently in a clockwise motion. While his True Qi couldn’t assist in digestion, the massage could speed up the intestinal movement and relieve the pressure on the stomach.

As he continued massaging, Wu Shuwei started feeling drowsy. She opened her mouth wide, yawned, and only remembered Li Yifei was beside her after she yawned. She covered her mouth shyly, but tears flowed from the corners of her eyes.

Meanwhile, on the other side of the accommodation area, a few people sneaked over, some wearing hats and masks, trying to cover themselves as much as possible. They walked to the dormitory area, one of them stopped, and said to the others behind him, "Be careful, that Li Yifei lives in Room 303 on the third floor. We’ll burst in later, no one is allowed to speak. After a beating, leave immediately and go to the designated place. Remember, no one is allowed to speak." 𝒻𝑟𝘦𝘦𝘸ℯ𝒷𝑛𝘰𝓋ℯ𝘭.𝘤𝘰𝘮

"Got it!" the others nodded.

The group continued towards the dormitory. The staff dormitory naturally wasn’t as good as the room Li Yifei stayed in, but it wasn’t too bad either. Li Yifei’s was considered a guest room, so the conditions were much better. These people crept up the outside stairs, one of them pulled out a set of keys, and in the darkness, the keys slipped from his hand, falling down to the first floor along the iron staircase.

"You pig, quickly go fetch it!" the leader slapped him on the head!

The subordinate rushed downstairs, spent several minutes finding the keys, and when he came back up, they opened the door. The leader gestured, and they all rushed in with rubber batons, smashing them down on the bed.

Bang, bang, bam, bam, after a round of chaotic smashing, the leader extended a hand and shouted, "Stop, it looks like he’s not here!"

"Huh?" The others stopped immediately, glanced at the bed in the moonlight, and indeed found no one there. They had just been hitting the quilt.

"Where is he?" someone asked.

The leader murmured, "He clearly drank so much, how could he not be in the room sleeping?"

"Maybe he went to someone else’s place or is with Manager Wu. I saw the two of them today looking suspicious. What kind of bodyguard, I think he’s just her lover," a subordinate said, only to get hit on the head. The leader scolded, "Shut up, you, don’t talk nonsense, or Chief Lu might hear you, and you’ll be in trouble. Damn it, let’s go. No chance today, but in the future, we’ll find an opportunity to deal with him. Daring to mess with the woman Chief Lu fancies, if you piss off Chief Lu, he’ll make sure he stays in Congo forever!"

"I believe that!" the other replied.

Just as they were about to leave, they suddenly froze, because there was a person standing at the door. It was none other than Li Yifei. He was leaning against the door with a coat in one hand, tilting his head to look at them, and said, "Why, coming to visit so late?"

"Uh..." They looked at each other, paused for a moment, and the leader chuckled, "If we say we were just passing by, would you believe us?"

"What do you think?" Li Yifei said lazily.

"Get him, attack!" the leader shouted, raising the rubber baton and rushing at Li Yifei, aiming to smash it on his head. If it had hit, even if Li Yifei’s head was made of steel, it would have been injured, let alone his skull. Li Yifei was immediately furious, he kicked out, swiftly launching a counterattack, directly hitting the leader’s chest, accompanied by the sound of bones cracking.

More people kept charging forward, but Li Yifei wasn’t polite either. Since they dared to trouble him, then don’t blame him for being ruthless. Grabbing a rubber baton, Li Yifei started hitting them one by one. In no time, he dispersed them, each clutching their heads and wailing nonstop. Li Yifei hadn’t held back; even if their bones weren’t broken, they’d need some time to recover, and the beaten places wouldn’t be recovering anytime soon.

This was Li Yifei holding back, otherwise, they would have ended up worse.

Once they were almost all down, Li Yifei stopped, placing the rubber baton horizontally against the leader’s neck. Li Yifei took off his hood, confirming the guy was indeed a Huaxia person. Li Yifei had heard some of their conversation before, but the accent was a bit strange. Looking at the person’s appearance, he probably belonged to a minority group.

Having failed to beat someone, and instead getting beaten up, these guys were incredibly unlucky. Looking at Li Yifei, who was completely sober and skilled, Wang Sansi deeply regretted taking this job to beat Li Yifei. Seeing the smile on Li Yifei’s face, Wang Sansi felt a chill down his spine.

"Speak, who sent you?" Li Yifei tapped the rubber baton in his hand, asking indifferently.

"No... no one!" Wang Sansi quickly shook his head.

"Bang!" The baton came down, and Wang Sansi instinctively shrank back, watching the rubber stick smash down beside him, the harsh wind stinging his face.

"Second time, who sent you?" Li Yifei shook his hand, tapping Wang Sansi’s face with the rubber baton, making a slapping sound. Wang Sansi didn’t even dare to dodge. After a few hits, Wang Sansi couldn’t hold on any longer and confessed everything.

They weren’t sent by Lu Youx, because Lu Youx had only handed the task to a subordinate, and that subordinate had found these people. They were all workers from the factory, coming from the country. Wang Sansi even confessed that he’d committed a crime back home, nearly beating someone to death before fleeing abroad to hide and work here.

"You wanted to hit me, so I hit you. Is that a problem?" Li Yifei looked down at them from above.

"No, no problem, it was our own fault." Wang Sansi and the others quickly said.

"Get lost. If you’re unhappy, come again next time." Li Yifei raised his chin as he spoke.

When these people heard that Li Yifei was letting them go, they were initially skeptical. But seeing Li Yifei’s impatient expression, they quickly scrambled up from the ground and ran away, stumbling over each other.

Li Yifei smirked. After the last person left, he tossed the wooden-handled rubber baton aside. With a whistling sound, it embedded itself in the wall opposite the corridor.

The door closed, and Li Yifei took off his clothes to shower. After returning from the shower, he noticed his phone flashing. Picking it up, he saw a message from Wu Shuwei asking if he was asleep yet. Li Yifei dried himself and replied, "Why aren’t you asleep yet? Weren’t you already exhausted?"

After sending the message, Li Yifei glanced at the time and realized the message had been sent ten minutes earlier. Wu Shuwei had timed her message for when he was supposed to be back, but he’d lost track of time dealing with those people and had to shower quickly.

A moment after he sent his reply, Wu Shuwei responded, "Did you just get to the dorm?"

"No, I was showering. Why aren’t you sleeping?"

"...Why do you keep insisting I sleep?" Wu Shuwei sent an angry emoji.

Alright, just asking. Li Yifei lay on the bed and replied, "Are we signing the contract the day after tomorrow?"

"Yes, after we sign the contract, we can head back, theoretically!" Wu Shuwei replied.

"Oh, then get some rest early. Be careful at work tomorrow, don’t get heatstroke again." Li Yifei said.

Wu Shuwei pouted. She was exhausted and stayed up fighting her sleep to chat with Li Yifei. Yet he kept urging her to sleep. Hmph, fine, I’ll sleep. I don’t feel like talking to you anyway. Wu Shuwei snorted, put down her phone without saying goodnight to Li Yifei, and got ready for bed.

Li Yifei scrolled through Twitter for a while before gradually drifting off to sleep.

That night some slept well, while others were anxious, like those who had been beaten up, fearing Li Yifei might come after them later. Even Lu Youx’s subordinate stayed worried half the night. Lu Youx was also aware of the incident and berated his subordinate for being incompetent. He was concerned about what to do if Li Yifei told Wu Shuwei about it. So the next morning, Lu Youx went to Wu Shuwei’s room, knocked for a while, and when Wu Shuwei, still groggy, saw it was Lu Youx, she slammed the door shut before he could speak.

A few minutes later, Wu Shuwei got dressed, opened the door, saw Lu Youx still waiting outside, and let him in.

Wu Shuwei had gone to bed late, and with Lu Youx coming to knock on her door after seven, she could hardly be in a good mood. So she asked flatly, "Chief Lu, why are you here early in the morning?"

Can’t I come even if there’s no reason? Lu Youx thought to himself, but he knew Wu Shuwei’s personality, so he wasn’t upset and chuckled, "There are some things, one being about the contract, some details I wanted to discuss."

"Details? We can talk during the day; why so early?" Wu Shuwei poured a glass of water and took a sip.

"True, we’ll talk during the day. But there’s something else," Lu Youx said, putting on what he thought was a charming smile. Seeing Wu Shuwei’s gaze, he continued, "I’ve come to apologize and explain last night’s incident."

"Last night’s incident?" Wu Shuwei’s voice rose a bit as she asked, "What incident last night?"
