Chapter 1278: Chapter 131: Offering the Holy Grail to Dispel Delusions

Four years ago, in Supibia.

Grayish-white mist filled the space between heaven and earth. Amongst the ruins, a one-eyed giant dragon emitted a sobbing cry. The divine machine that once fought alongside him had collapsed, and the pilots inside the cockpit had dissolved into white mist. Orianna Cavon knelt on the ground, her mud-streaked face lined with two tear marks. She was the sole survivor of the royal capital, her survival owed to the faint golden light left by Mo Yuankai.

[Breaking through the Creation Realm is nothing but a delusion in despair, and reality is harsher than any dream. In the end, I’ve achieved nothing—]

"Shut up, Faceless Evildoer!"

The golden sword light slashed toward the sky, tearing apart the script written by the Faceless God. The real Orianna Cavon, wielding a sword, ran through the ruins, attempting to forcibly control the threads that were falling down, which were entirely blocked by the arc light of the Creation Realm Skill.

It was no longer four years ago. Orianna, who had just stepped into the theater today, would not be easily controlled by the script. Moreover, she was not afraid of rewriting the past, because her heart held an "eternal principle" of self-accomplishment; even the traps at the peak of the Creation Realm could not easily obliterate her spirit. As she swung her sword to cut off the endless threads, a vague worry arose in her heart. How was everyone else doing? Situ Yi’s attention was clearly not here; would he deal with others?

Orianna braced herself against the omnipresent pressure in the Divine Theater, exerting all her strength to expand the world. The familiar presence in her perception brought a light to her eyes as she sprinted toward the southern side of this fake royal capital, finding Alandia in what was originally the eastern district.

She arrived just in time. Alandia was relying on the Nirvana Flame Protection left by Gongsun Ce, nearly being forcibly controlled by the threads. Without a word, Orianna cut the threads. Before she could speak, the silver-haired female knight spoke up: "Last tea party, you were fretting over what to wear when visiting Sky City. In March, you privately asked me about my body management secrets. In the second week of May, you were unsettled because you peeked at Knight Akuya’s magazine..."

"Of course you’re the real one!" Orianna interrupted, blushing, "I’m so glad you’re okay, Alandia. Can you still use your eternal principle?"

"The nature of my existence has not changed, false alterations have no effect on me." Alandia closed her eyes to sense her Spirit Light as she spoke, reaching a conclusion, "Ce is this way, follow me."

She followed Alandia’s lead, running into the distance. When the two reached the border of the fake royal capital, countless demons leaped from the mist, surging like a dark tide. Silver sword light carved a bloody path through the sea of demons, the ground beyond the mist entirely composed of threads, clearly indicating they were still in the Divine Theater.

The two female knights didn’t speak, sharing the same worry in their hearts. Situ Yi was clearly only stalling for time; his attention must inevitably be on the other two. Neither Mo Yuankai nor Gongsun Ce had eternal principles...

When facing the means of the Spiritual Image Skill, mere combat strength might not be effective.

As thoughts raced, the mist gradually thinned, and the demons hindering their progress vanished silently, realizing their ineffectiveness. Orianna unconsciously bit her lip, a wave of unease coursing through her heart: "Knight Alandia, I have a bad feeling."

"We’re almost there, be ready."

The Dawn Knight ran ahead of her, and as Orianna watched her back, her nerves didn’t ease in the slightest. Until now, they hadn’t encountered any real blockade, only demons, threads, and mist delaying their steps over and over. The more this happened, the tenser the knight became. What had Situ Yi accomplished with all this time? Were they too late?

She was no longer the naive girl of the past, and she thought of the worst-case scenario. If everything was already too late, how could they save their lovers and friends? Would her strength be enough?

"Here we are," said the Dawn Knight. Orianna quelled her unease, concentrating her power in her sword blade, slashing out a brilliant arc of golden light. The mist obscuring her view dissipated under the arc light, and she protected the Dawn Knight as they charged into the area beyond the mist.

Rain, a downpour that covered the sky.

Not a soul walked the streets, the world so desolate it seemed only they and the all-encompassing rain remained. Under the dense and urgent rain, the city appeared like a melting oil painting, the cold raindrops threatening to rob all warmth from their bodies. Their boots splashed into puddles, kicking up dirty mud.

Alandia’s footsteps stopped at an alleyway. The narrow alley between towering buildings was suffocating, the exterior walls on both sides brimming with pipes and wires, like dirty snakes. A gray-haired youth stood in the alley, with his back to them. Cautiously, Orianna called out, "Gongsun Ce?"

Orianna relaxed, the young man who turned around was undoubtedly the real Gongsun Ce. His gray hair was wet from the rain, his face still showing a trace of startled surprise that turned to delight upon seeing the two.

"Hey."

He began to laugh, just as he did the first time they met, lightly and freely, exuding an inherent cynicism. His laughter made his whole body tremble, and Orianna’s blood ran cold as she noticed that Gongsun Ce was holding a mask in his hand, a black and red jester’s mask.

He donned the mask of the Slaughterer Cain, speaking with an almost gentle smile, "The Dust Sect extends greetings to you."

The black cloak behind the youth suddenly surged up, like a shadow leaping from the ground to envelop his entire form. His body rapidly expanded and distorted amidst continuous moans, becoming a tall, slender, dark humanoid form. The malevolent mask moved to the top of the humanoid, transforming into a new head, innumerable tentacles emerging from behind him, entwining and shooting out as Tribulation Flame!
