Superhumans of the Dome City-Chapter 1296 - 136: Fulfillment of All Wishes (Part 1)
Your Contaminated Holy Grail was transformed by us into a Heart Phase Weapon embodying qualities like friendship, trust, sincerity, and love, and finally elevated to a Wish Machine bestowed upon the Dawn Knight—although Kong Wang himself would likely laugh heartily and clap, to say this to a former dark lord feels quite terrible, like a form of disguised bullying!
Gongsun Ce’s expression remained unchanged: "I made it fulfill the task of the Holy Grail. Let’s not talk about that. Do you know how much further this maze goes? I’ve been walking and it feels like the exit is perpetually out of reach..."
"Haven’t you learned basic Symbolic Skills? The maze is the process of seeking a wish. Once the wish is fulfilled, it disappears." Shiyu Genmi said, "Your wish is buried very deep in your heart, which is why this maze is so long... Look, we’ve only just arrived now."
As Shiyu Genmi explained, a new clearing appeared ahead. This time the "special room" resembled an urban garden, with clusters of green crystals forming flowers and trees. In the crystalline forest stood a bewildered blonde girl; her rustic attire and braided hair awakened Gongsun Ce’s memories from four years ago, and without a doubt, she was the previous attendant of the Dawn Knight.
Gongsun Ce asked the two to stay in the corridor temporarily, straightened his collar, took off his cloak, removed his glasses, and walked forward in just a shirt and trousers. Jane Della’s eyes lit up when she saw him, and she lifted her skirt hem to curtsy.
"I’m so pleased to meet you, unknown gentleman! I’m truly dizzy from this incomprehensible situation. You seem like a clever man; how much do you understand about the current circumstances?"
Jane Della spoke with impeccable wording, using some tactics learned from prisoners, placing herself in a weak position to better conceal information. She assessed this young man who was a full head taller than herself, his figure straight and robust, and his handsome face carried a trace of melancholy that evoked goodwill.
She was slightly delighted, thinking that it’s quite fortunate to meet a handsome man after coming back from the dead for the first time... unfortunately, those golden eyes remind her of unpleasant memories...
The gray-haired gentleman elegantly shook her hand and then donned a red cloak with a black lining. He put on a pair of gold-rimmed glasses, and under Jane Della’s increasingly horrified gaze, combed his hair back, speaking with the cadence of an actor delivering a monologue on stage: "My last name is Gongsun, given name Ce, the attendant of the Dawn Knight Alandia, pleased to meet you!"
"—Are you kidding me, you obnoxious brat?!!!"
Jane Della’s face flushed to the color of pig liver, and she withdrew her hand as if electrocuted, retreating several steps and pointing a trembling finger at Gongsun Ce’s nose: "You? Gongsun Ce?! Are you that wretched worm?!"
Gongsun Ce adjusted his glasses: "Oh my, seeing you so flustered is truly nostalgic. The facade of a lady shatters upon touch, revealing the village girl’s true nature when faced with issues."
Jane Della let out a piercing scream: "Get away from me! I’d rather see the Dawn Knight than your face!!"
"Likewise, among the people I’ve personally killed, you’re one of the most unpleasant. Go find some random place to throw a tantrum, don’t disturb my reminiscing of the past."
Gongsun Ce waved away dismissively with a look of disdain, while Jane Della seemed poised to tear him apart with her bare hands, but she stopped midway.
"...Ugh, what’s this?" Jane Della felt goosebumps rising, "Is this really your style of speaking? The pretentiousness is disgusting, makes me want to puke..."
Gongsun Ce was stunned, remembering that Jane Della’s impression of him was stuck four years in the past, where she saw Gongsun Ce as a foul-mouthed individual. Now, he rarely did such things, only adopting such a provocative posture when facing old adversaries.
He wanted to speak in the tone of his youth but found himself lacking interest in greeting the departed with curses, so he shrugged: "What, do you now have a peculiar desire to be insulted? Alas, I have no interest in abusing a country girl, you’re free to consult with Shiyu Genmi over there."
Jane gritted her teeth in anger: "Utterly unchanged, disgusting man!"
"Likewise."
Gongsun Ce spread his hands and moved around the village girl attendant, preparing to proceed. He halted before stepping into the corridor as a sharp dagger silently rested against his neck, its bizarre blade resembling a snake lurking in the night. He glanced sideways to meet the playful eyes of the green-haired woman.
"Hello, little boy, long time no see."
She withdrew the dagger, deftly twirling it between her fingers, the lethal weapon in her hand seemed like a tamed little snake. Her movements were as nimble as before, her appearance as light and tall as in memory, her eyes circling mischievously, like an assassin seeking an opportune weakness, or like a courtesan conveying affection with her eyes, exuding a decadent allure.
But she now needed to look up; the boy she used to look down on carelessly was now half a head taller than her. Kerky Hyde withdrew the dagger with a wicked smile and went to tap his cheek with her fingertip.
"How much time has passed? The little boy has turned into a big man!"
Gongsun Ce sighed, pinching her finger between two of his: "Please call me Mr. Gongsun, thank you."
