Superhumans of the Dome City-Chapter 1306 - 139: Fulfillment of All Wishes (Part 4)
"When we came up, we encountered the honorable Holy King..." Macrow opened his mouth repeatedly, struggling to organize his words for a long time, "A Royal Knight’s most romantic dream is just like this."
"King Morton would probably be quite happy to see you." Gongsun Ce joked, then turned to question, "Loninless, why the hell are you only coming now? Didn’t you agree to come and assist right after the battle?"
Before this battle, everyone had made ample preparations, one of which was to ask Loninless to come help with the aftermath upon confirmation of success. The old Mage blew his beard and glared, "Easy to say! Do you know what this place looks like from the outside? A pile of crystals has covered the entire Huang Guang State, all important figures of both sides from Cangdu have lost contact, and outside is a complete mess! Just confirming that you’re all here took nearly half a day. What you’re seeing now is my avatar; my real self is still in the Country managing the situation!"
"Thank you for your hard work." Gongsun Ce sincerely said, "So do the seniors have any method?"
Loninless looked at him like he was seeing an idiot, raised his staff, and tapped Gongsun Ce’s chest.
"Do you really have an intellectual disability? Think of your identity!"
"I’m damn just a Superpower User, what -" Gongsun Ce got stuck halfway, feeling his chest in deep despair, "It’s over, I’m stupid, I forgot I can draw the sword now. Weren’t any of you going to remind me?"
"I want to take this opportunity to delve deeper into the truth of the past." Alandia said, "And Mo Yuankai and Orianna should not have reacted yet."
The golden-haired couple both showed the same response at this moment; after a half-second of shock, they both gasped in surprise, then covered their faces in embarrassment.
"Still a bunch of idiots after four years!" The old Mage laughed and cursed, "Me and Helaisen will protect the environment. Quickly finish the final cleanup; everyone is tired enough today!"
The six people withdrew one after another from the fortress on the cliff. Gongsun Ce thrust his right hand into his chest and grasped the black sword in his heart. Situ Yi was completely dead, with no more power binding him. He unsheathed the black sword with the calmest mindset he had ever had; this time, the sword’s light would kill no one.
"Come, Final Sword of the Apocalypse, Calamity of the Silent Star."
The dark black sword softly hummed in Gongsun Ce’s hand, longing to cleave through Kong Hua’s crystal. He guarded everyone with the sword’s arc, walking with Mo Yuankai toward the battlefield of the Kings. The Silent King was still mindlessly slashing, roaring with fury as the black sword appeared, "Kill!"
"I will, soon." Gongsun Ce said softly.
Beyond the crystals, the King of Greed gazed at the two, her beautiful eyes filled with sorrow and longing.
"Silent seed, I ask you not to act." She lamented, "My body is already dead; this is the last chance. We can save this world, fulfill everyone’s wishes, bring happiness to everyone. Your decision will not only affect yourself but also cut off many people’s desires!"
Gongsun Ce didn’t understand her dreams nor agree with her ideals, and he wasn’t her seed. Thus he said nothing, backed away, leaving the final exchange to the King of Greed and the one who knew her best. Mo Yuankai scratched his head, showing the King an apologetic smile.
"I’m sorry, sis. I feel maybe it’s better not to mess with the Wish Machine."
The tears of the King of Greed fell to the ground, transforming into a blossom of tears burned by the Tribulation Flame.
"Why are you always so stubborn! We had so many opportunities before my body was destroyed; when you just awakened, if you had been willing to cooperate, we could have saved everyone! Yet you were unwilling, no matter how I pleaded..."
Mo Yuankai’s expression became more awkward, the scene strangely resembling an evening family drama, with a gentle and kind mother or teacher-like figure scolding a rebellious child for acting recklessly, the latter at a loss for words. He cleared his throat, speaking seriously: "I really admire your ideals; if possible, I’d want to strive with you. But sis, you know well, your world isn’t perfect. If everyone’s ideals came true, the world would become Heaven; why then does the Silent King exist?"
He softened his tone, soothingly speaking: "I think you’ve already noticed the problem, which is why you went to cultivate the Red Mage... And I can’t ignore it, right?"
"You could bring back everyone who previously died." She emphasized.
"Those who once died aren’t themselves anymore." Mo Yuankai shook his head, "And if the resurrection of the good demands the return of the evil, I would rather not pray for such a miracle. You and I aren’t Gods; we don’t have the right to be self-righteous with life."
The King of Greed remained silent for a long time, wiping away her tears. She looked at the smiling Mo Yuankai as if observing a rebellious junior.
"But your dream is to save everyone... You’ve always wanted to be a hero."
"Sis, a hero is someone who helps everyone fulfill their dreams, not someone who fulfills everyone’s dreams for them."
Mo Yuankai’s smile remained simple, holding fast to his views even amidst the Kings’ battlefield. He had always been a straightforward person; the King of Greed, in others’ eyes a fearsome Eternal King, appeared to him as a stubborn yet naive woman, possessing such strong power yet speaking like a nagging woman. The King of Greed was overly obstinate, thus he repeatedly spoke of this era’s common sense, of a world not needing Gods, and a world where everyone is happy may not be ideal.
In some sense, they were alike, both simple, therefore both strong.
"I hope you all reach your goals."
The King of Greed closed her eyes, aware Mo Yuankai would no longer aid her. Her projection transformed into crystal and dispersed, leaving only that sincere blessing. 𝚏𝗿𝗲𝐞𝚠𝕖𝐛𝗻𝗼𝐯𝕖𝚕.𝚌𝗼𝗺
The Silent King shattered the Colored Glaze that had once formed the enemies, completely destroying the King of Greed’s projection used to interfere with the world. She stood silently in the Tribulation Flame for a moment before fiercely glaring at Gongsun Ce, "Give me the sword."
"Absolutely not." Gongsun Ce tersely replied, with but half a trace of melancholy, "You shall not truly descend; it is my duty."
He stabbed the Final Sword into the peak of the Colored Glaze Mountain, drawing upon its power with an almost serene calm. The black-red sword light surged into the mountain, sending countless colored glaze shards skyward to form a cross star glow like a tombstone.
The Heaven of fulfilled wishes crumbled in the sword light, crystals shattering into dust emanating circles around the cross, like a twilight aurora surrounding a gravestone. Many once-returned dead faded away, bidding farewell to the living, and turning towards the light.
