Superstar's Development Diary-Chapter 811 - 813: The Great and Wise Captain
She furrowed her brow, a fierce look flashing across her face, and the whip in her hand lashed out with a "snap!" as it successfully coiled around the mast.
Using the momentary force of the coil, Flais used her momentum to gracefully swing in another direction, swiftly reaching the edge of the ship.
She quickly looked down, only to see a crew member already submerged on the sea surface, drowned.
Flais frowned, her expression becoming serious.
"Hoo—hoo—"
The storm grew more violent, and as she looked up at the sky, dark clouds were gathering, and the once bright sky quickly dimmed, soon ready to unleash a heavy rain.
This downpour wasn’t an effect added post-production, but a real event. The film crew had precisely calculated that there would be a heavy rain on this day, strategically moving the critical scene to shoot on this day.
Crew members on the ship swayed back and forth, desperately trying to stabilize themselves, with some lucky enough to grab onto the mast in the chaos, while others just barely managed to grip the edge of the ship,
"Princess, help!"
The crew member only holding the edge lacked the strength to hold on, being thrown off in the turmoil.
Flais’s expression tightened as she snapped her whip once more—
"Cut! Great! Quickly equip the crew with the props!"
The crew member suspended by wires in the air was lowered down, and a whip was wrapped around his waist by staff, matching the one held by the Princess.
He Jinxia observed the entire process, not relaxing even while others were preparing, maintaining the same expression on her face.
This scene was a major one, where any slight mistake could mean reshooting everything, and waiting for another rainy day was uncertain. So she kept her focus at all times.
He Jinxia’s approach was indeed correct.
Once the crew’s preparations were complete, Stanlanca immediately called for filming to resume, ready to finish quickly!
The next second, the crew member was harshly flung to another location by the wires, while He Jinxia maintained her previous expression, once again wielding her whip and then drawing it back.
Two seconds later, the crew member’s body hit the ground, rolling on the ship’s deck, the whip around his waist discarded.
In post-production, these two shots would be edited to create the effect of the crew member being caught by the Princess’s whip from mid-air and thrown onto the deck.
Saving just this one crew member wasn’t enough. The Elf Princess played by He Jinxia next had to save two more, creating the impression of the Princess possessing immense fighting prowess.
After rescuing two people, the anticipated heavy rain finally arrived. He Jinxia stood tall and unyielding within the rain curtain, calmly directing the crew into the cabin, while she alone stood firmly on the deck, overseeing the situation!
With a whip in her hand, like the bravest female warrior, she shouted sternly, "All members, take the ship 30° northward!"
Another camera was capturing scenes of the crew operating within the cabin, which He Jinxia couldn’t see as she awaited the director’s instructions in the rain.
Meanwhile, amidst the tumultuous waves, another ship slowly approached.
On set, that ship appeared to be just an ordinary wooden boat, but to match the height of He Jinxia’s ship, Stanlanca specifically had the staff lift it!
There were several people standing on that boat!
Angus, playing Captain Jelway, rolled forward amidst the waves. His crew noticed the ship adrift in the wind and rain, immediately reporting to the Captain.
Jelway peered from the ship, seemingly assessing the Elf Princess’s fighting power.
Flais noticed the sneaky ship, her face becoming icy as she ordered her crew to steer away from it.
Jelway raised his brow, touching his chin with interest on his handsome face, "Interesting..."
A crew member asked, "Captain, should we let everyone on that ship drown in the sea and become our slaves?"
If the crew members of the Elf Princess heard this, they would undoubtedly react with horror, realizing this seemingly unremarkable little ship was actually the infamous Ghost Ship of the Devil’s Sea!
Jelway patted the crew member’s head, rolling his eyes, "Ordinary crew members can become the ghosts beneath our ship, but the woman standing at the front isn’t simple. Just in terms of power, I might not even be able to beat her. Why don’t you give it a try?"
The chubby crew member instantly shrunk back, shaking his head quickly.
Jelway, exasperated, remarked, "How did the Ghost Ship end up choosing such a cowardly crew member like you? How did you even get picked by the Ghost Ship, and why would it favor someone like you?"
Jelway spoke while looking outside, his gaze shifting back and forth to the Elf Princess.
A crew member, missing his left hand with a scythe installed in its place, raised his fighting spirit, "Captain, I’ll grab that woman for you!"
Jelway nudged him, "Go, go, I might not even be able to beat that woman, so can you beat me?"
The crew member tapped his scythe against his head, pondering for a moment before shaking his head, "I can’t beat you."
Jelway couldn’t help but roll his eyes again, complaining, "How did I, the dignified Ghost Ship captain, end up with such a foolhardy crew member? You always charge ahead when danger presents itself. It’s strange how the Ghost Ship would choose someone like you."
This crew member tapped his head with the scythe again, muttering, "How did the Ghost Ship choose someone like me..."
He spoke while turning his head towards the collecting device, suddenly frowning, his eyes widening, as his scythe arm pointed forward, "Captain, it’s lit!"
Jelway, looking outside, responded impatiently, "What’s lit?"
The chubby crew member looked over, his eyes widening as he stuttered, "Captain... Captain... it’s lit, lit."
Jelway, annoyed by their comments, turned around and shouted, "So what’s lit—"
He choked on his words, seeing the long-missing red light on the collection device, causing him to gulp, "It’s... lit..."
Jelway suddenly slammed the table, excitement flashing in his eyes, "Enter battle mode, let’s go catch some new crew members!"
The crew’s individual transformations weren’t being filmed today. Staff quickly lowered their ship, giving them a rapid change of appearance.
Meanwhile, He Jinxia also entered the cabin to take shelter from the rain.
She had been standing outside for a long time, feeling cold all over. Once relaxed, she trembled intensely, and staff quickly warmed her up, allowing her to feel somewhat alive again.
But that’s not the most trying part.
The most trying part is that she still has to dash into the rain for shooting later!
Fortunately, her physical fitness was decent, and she managed to hold out.
Just as the crew prepared to film again, a flash of lightning suddenly struck in the sky, followed by the distant rumble of thunder a few seconds later. The thunder grew louder, and the downpour outside became heavier, transforming the surroundings into a misty white blankness that stretched to the horizon.
